These are specification and price-listing comparisons, not independent performance or camera test results.
Price difference: ₹6,500 for matched 6GB/128GB models
On October 7, 2026, the vivo India Store showed the T4x 5G 6GB/128GB at ₹16,999, while Samsung India’s storefront showed the Galaxy A17 5G 6GB/128GB at ₹23,499. That makes the observed difference ₹6,500, with the vivo listing lower. These are storefront observations, not guaranteed prices: the vivo listing showed a different color at ₹17,999, and offers, colors and availability can change.

That is its historical launch price, not the ₹23,499 storefront observation above; do not compare it with the vivo store result as if both were current prices. Both models were also listed in 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB configurations. Check the exact variant, color and price at purchase.

Display and processor: refresh rate versus panel type
vivo T4x 5G
The T4x pairs a 120 Hz LCD with the Dimensity 7300 5G. Its listed refresh rate is higher than the A17’s, but refresh rate alone does not establish overall display quality or smoothness in every app.

Samsung Galaxy A17 5G
The A17 pairs a 90 Hz Super AMOLED panel with the Exynos 1330. Its panel technology differs from the T4x’s LCD, while its listed refresh rate is lower. The specifications do not establish which screen will look better to an individual buyer.
The chipset names and manufacturing processes are manufacturer specifications, not a benchmark comparison. No comparable performance test is available here, so they do not establish which phone is faster in everyday use or gaming.

Battery and charging: larger listed capacity on the vivo
vivo specifies a 6,500 mAh typical-capacity battery and charging up to 44 W for the T4x. Samsung specifies a 5,000 mAh typical-capacity battery for the A17, and its launch material lists 25 W charging support. On paper, the T4x has the larger stated capacity and higher rated charging power. Those figures do not predict comparative screen-on time or how long either phone takes to charge; usage, conditions and charging equipment matter.

The T4x lists a 50 MP main rear camera, a 2 MP bokeh camera and an 8 MP front camera. The A17 lists 50 MP, 5 MP and 2 MP rear cameras, specifies OIS, and has a 13 MP front camera. OIS is a stated feature, not proof of better photos in every situation; megapixel counts and camera quantity alone cannot determine image quality.

Durability and what comes in the box
The T4x is rated IP64, while the A17 is rated IP54 and carries a Gorilla Glass Victus front-glass claim. These ratings describe specified protection, not immunity from water or dust damage; water resistance can diminish with wear, and damage is not ruled out.
vivo lists a charger and phone case in the T4x box. Samsung says the A17 box does not include a travel adapter. Check the contents of the particular regional package before buying accessories.

Software support: Samsung states a defined update period
Samsung states that the A17 will receive six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates; its specification page gives support through August 31, 2031. The vivo parameter page identifies Android 15 and Funtouch OS 15 but does not confirm a support duration. That absence on the cited page is not evidence that vivo has no support policy.
Which phone should you choose?
Choose the vivo T4x if your priorities are
- A lower observed price for the matched 6GB/128GB configuration.
- A larger stated battery capacity and higher listed charging power.
- A higher listed display refresh rate.
- A charger and case listed in the box.
Choose the Samsung Galaxy A17 if your priorities are
- A Super AMOLED display rather than an LCD.
- Rear-camera OIS and a higher-resolution front-camera specification.
- Samsung’s stated six Android-upgrade generations and six years of security updates.
There is no supported overall-performance winner in these specifications. The stronger fit depends on which differences matter to you and the verified price of the exact variant when you buy.
