Neither phone is clearly better on paper. The vivo T4 Ultra leads on processor tier, battery capacity and charging speed. The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro leads on display size and refresh rate, telephoto optical zoom and build materials. A reliable price difference cannot be stated yet, because the prices available online refer to different RAM and storage configurations and different dates.

Processor and performance
The T4 Ultra uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300+, a higher-tier chip than the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 in the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro. That gap in chip tier is the clearest silicon difference between the two. However, the published specifications do not show how either phone performs in sustained gaming, multitasking or thermal conditions. No independent head-to-head benchmark has been published that we could verify, so treat the chip difference as a starting point rather than a measured result.

Cameras: optical zoom is not the same as digital zoom
Both phones include a periscope telephoto lens, but the figures are not directly comparable. The T4 Ultra’s 50MP periscope offers 3x optical zoom. The Nothing’s 50MP periscope offers 3.5x optical zoom, a slightly longer optical reach. Nothing also advertises zoom up to 140x. That figure is a digital magnification figure, and at that level image quality depends mainly on software processing, not optics. Compare the optical numbers when judging detail, and treat extreme zoom claims as marketing unless independent sample photos show they hold up.
The main sensors are also listed differently. vivo names Sony IMX921 for the main camera, while Nothing specifies a 50MP OIS Sony main sensor without naming the model on its product page. Optical image stabilisation (OIS) is named by Nothing; the product page reviewed does not state whether the T4 Ultra’s main camera has OIS.

Display, battery and charging
The Nothing has the larger and faster-refreshing screen on paper: 6.83 inches with adaptive refresh up to 144Hz, against 6.67 inches and 120Hz on the vivo. Nothing’s 5,000-nit peak brightness claim is also much higher than vivo’s 1600-nit HBM figure, but the two numbers are measured under different conditions and neither has been independently verified. The practical outdoor readability of both screens remains untested here.
On battery, the vivo is ahead on both counts. Its 5500mAh typical capacity and 90W charging compare with Nothing’s 5,400mAh India battery and 50W Fast Charge. Battery capacity and charging wattage alone do not determine real-world endurance or how long a full charge takes, so the difference should be read as a specification gap, not a confirmed runtime advantage.

Build, software and updates
- Water and dust resistance: The Nothing’s IP65 rating is one level higher than the vivo’s IP64 rating. Both are ingress ratings, not a guarantee against water damage in every situation.
- Materials: The vivo has a glass back, while the Nothing uses an aluminium unibody with Gorilla Glass 7i on the screen.
- Software: The vivo ships with Android 15 and Funtouch OS 15. Nothing names Nothing OS and Essential AI tools, but the product page reviewed does not state the Android version or how long updates will be supplied. Check Nothing’s update policy before buying if long support matters to you.
Price difference: what the figures do and do not show
Price is the least settled part of this comparison. The figures below come from different sellers, configurations and dates, so they cannot be placed side by side as a like-for-like gap.
| Source | Model and configuration | Price reported | Date |
|---|---|---|---|
| vivo India Store listing | T4 Ultra 12GB+256GB, Phoenix Gold | ₹37,999 | Observed in 2026; the listing may have changed since |
| Android Central launch report | Nothing Phone (4a) Pro 8GB+128GB | ₹39,999 (launch price) | March 2026 |
| 91mobiles price report | Nothing Phone (4a) Pro 8GB+128GB | ₹49,999 (reported increase) | June 2026 |
The Nothing India product page lists selectable configurations, but no price was visible in the version we reviewed. The two Nothing figures are secondary press reports, not confirmed current official prices.

- 👟 [NON-SLIP BASE] The stand's rubberized feet create a strong grip on any surface, preventing accidental sliding or shifting. This ensures a STABLE and secure setup, whether placed on a desk, table, or any smooth surface.
It may be tempting to subtract ₹37,999 from ₹49,999 and report a difference of ₹12,000. That comparison is invalid. One figure is for 12GB+256GB and the other for 8GB+128GB, and they were recorded months apart. A fair comparison requires the same RAM and storage tier, sold by the same retailer, on the same day. Check both phones’ live listings on one platform and compare the matched configurations.
