That is a ₹9,000 gap, with the Redmi priced higher. The vivo’s hardware is documented in detail. Xiaomi’s store listing confirmed the model, variant and price but not a full spec sheet. So this article does not declare an overall winner.
Price difference: what the official stores showed

| Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G (Cloud Blue) | ₹36,999 | ₹49,999 | Xiaomi India | Not stated |
- Street-price gap: ₹9,000, with the vivo cheaper.
- MRP gap: ₹17,000. The Redmi’s printed discount (₹13,000) is larger than the vivo’s (₹5,000), but MRP is a reference figure, so compare what you actually pay.
- Availability matters: the vivo listing showed out of stock, so the lower price may not be obtainable at once. Check the live page and any retailer you plan to use. Official-store prices say nothing about Amazon, Flipkart or offline prices.
vivo T4 Pro 5G: confirmed specifications
vivo’s official India pages list the following.
| Area | vivo T4 Pro 5G |
|---|---|
| Processor | Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 |
| Display | 6.77-inch, 120 Hz refresh rate |
| Battery and charging | 6500 mAh (typical), 90 W charging |
| Rear cameras | 50 MP main with OIS; 50 MP periscope telephoto with OIS; 2 MP bokeh camera |
| Front camera | 32 MP |
| Software at launch | Android 15 |
| Configurations | 8 GB + 128 GB, 8 GB + 256 GB, 12 GB + 256 GB |
A periscope telephoto lens with stabilisation is the standout item at this price. Whether the Redmi matches it cannot be said from the listing we could verify.

Xiaomi India’s store lists the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G in an 8 GB + 128 GB Cloud Blue variant at ₹36,999. That confirms the phone exists on the official storefront and its entry price. The page we could verify did not give enough detail on processor, display, cameras, battery, charging or software to build a trustworthy side-by-side table. A third-party comparison site shows figures for both phones, but they were not checked against an official Xiaomi spec page, so we have left them out rather than present them as fact.
#1 Best Overall
- Slim and Lightweight Design: Slim profile with durable TPU material provides everyday protection without adding bulk
- Shockproof and Scratch Resistant: Flexible TPU construction absorbs shocks and protects your device from drops, impacts, and scratches
- Precise Cutouts and Easy Access: Designed with accurate cutouts for effortless access to all ports, buttons, and cameras

- Camera Lens Protection and Good Grip: Raised edges protect camera lenses from scratches while soft texture ensures a secure comfortable grip
Before buying, check these on Xiaomi’s own spec page, and compare them with the vivo values above:
- Display size, resolution, panel type and refresh rate
- Processor
- Camera hardware, especially whether there is any telephoto lens and whether the main camera has OIS
- Battery capacity and wired charging wattage
- Android version and the promised update period
- Weight, thickness and dust/water rating
Durability and battery claims need context
Water and dust resistance
vivo’s page cites IP68/IP69 testing under IEC 60529-2013 in controlled laboratory conditions. It also warns that resistance is not permanent, can decrease with daily use, and that liquid damage is not covered by warranty. Treat the phone as splash and dust resistant, not waterproof. The page mentions different immersion durations in different contexts (a 30-minute rating condition and a separate controlled test up to 120 minutes), so don’t read either as permission for regular swimming or showering with the phone.
Rank #2
- Multi-Card Slot Design: Features 3 card slots and 1 photo window, perfect for storing credit cards, IDs, and cherished memories
- Built-In Hidden Wallet: Includes a concealed cash pocket, allowing you to carry money securely without a separate wallet
- Premium PU Leather Material: Made from high-quality PU leather that offers a soft touch, elegant look, and durable daily protection
- Magnetic Flip Cover & Kickstand: Magnetic closure ensures secure fastening, while the foldable design doubles as a stand for hands-free viewing
- Precise Cutouts & Full Protection: Accurate cutouts for camera, buttons, and ports ensure easy access while offering comprehensive protection
Battery longevity
vivo states that in its own laboratory tests the battery kept at least 80% capacity after 1,300 complete charge cycles, which it equates to roughly four years of use in its simulation. This is a manufacturer test under stated conditions, not an independent result or a guarantee for your unit.
Which should you pick?
- Choose the vivo T4 Pro if you want the documented package of a large 6500 mAh battery, 90 W charging and a stabilised periscope telephoto for ₹9,000 less, and you can find it in stock.
- Consider the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G if its confirmed Xiaomi specifications beat the vivo on the things you care about, such as display, software support or cameras, by enough to justify the extra ₹9,000. On the official listing we could verify, that case is not yet demonstrated.
- Compare like for like: use the same RAM/storage variant, and check the final price after offers on the day you buy.
Without verified Redmi specifications, the only firm conclusion is price: the Redmi costs ₹9,000 more on the official stores, and the extra spend has to be justified by features you can confirm.
