Price difference

One third-party comparison on Gadgets Now lists ₹27,999 for the vivo T4 Pro and ₹35,999 for the Samsung, a gap of about ₹8,000. The 91mobiles comparison shows the vivo price as unavailable and the Samsung near ₹35,999. Neither page establishes the same date, storage variant and seller, so treat ₹8,000 as an indicative listing gap, not a confirmed current difference.

To get a real number:

1. Pick the same RAM/storage on both phones (for example 8GB/128GB).
2. Check one retailer on the same day, and note whether each phone is in stock.
3. Separate list price from payable price after bank offers and exchange bonuses, which often depend on the card or the trade-in phone.
4. Add a charger for the Samsung if you want its full 45 W speed, since Samsung says the fast charger is sold separately.

Performance

The vivo uses the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and the Samsung the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. The 7-series name suggests a higher tier, which is a reasonable expectation for gaming and heavy multitasking. This is an inference from the chip names, not a benchmark result. No independent comparative testing of these two phones was available, and manufacturer benchmark claims should be treated as manufacturer-reported. For everyday use, both are likely to be fine.

Display

Both have 120 Hz, full-HD-class screens. The vivo is listed at 6.77 inches and the Samsung at 6.67 inches, a small difference, and diagonal measurement conventions vary. Samsung specifically markets Super AMOLED. The vivo page cited here does not change the basic picture, so judge brightness and colour in a store if you can.

Cameras

Both main cameras are 50 MP with optical stabilisation. The difference lies elsewhere. vivo promotes a 50 MP 3x periscope telephoto, which gives true optical zoom for portraits and distant subjects. Samsung’s 5 MP and 2 MP secondary cameras are a more conventional setup. The front cameras are 32 MP on the vivo and 12 MP on the Samsung. Resolution does not guarantee quality, and no independent sample comparison was available, so the vivo’s telephoto is a hardware advantage on paper only.

Battery and charging

The vivo has a 6500 mAh typical battery against the Samsung’s 6000 mAh. It also charges at 90 W against 45 W. Those are ratings, and real endurance depends on screen use, signal and software. The practical gap is that the vivo should charge noticeably faster, if the box charger delivers the full rating.

Durability

vivo advertises IP68 and IP69. Its page says: “Under controlled laboratory conditions, vivo T4 Pro can be submerged in static, room-temperature, fresh water up to 1.5 meters deep for up to 120 minutes.” That does not cover seawater, hot water or pressurised use, and water damage is typically not covered by warranty. Samsung advertises water and dust resistance and Gorilla Glass Victus+, but the page reviewed gives no IP rating, so it should not be assumed to match the vivo.

Software support

Samsung states: “Galaxy M47 5G will be supported with six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates from the first global launch date,” subject to change. The vivo page confirms Android 15 with Funtouch OS 15 but gives no comparable duration. If you keep phones for four to six years, Samsung’s explicit commitment is the strongest point in its favour.

Which should you choose?

• Choose the vivo T4 Pro if you want the stronger chip, bigger battery, faster charging, telephoto zoom, higher-resolution selfie camera and a high water-resistance rating, and the street price is lower.
• Choose the Galaxy M47 5G if you value a long, documented update promise and Samsung’s Super AMOLED display, and the price gap shrinks after offers.
