No: Justin Jefferson will not play for the Minnesota Vikings against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Minnesota listed the receiver with an ankle injury and ruled him out after he missed all three practices this week. Miami also ruled out rookie receiver Caleb Douglas with an ankle injury after three missed practices.
Why Jefferson is out against Miami
Minnesota’s official injury report lists Jefferson with an ankle injury, no participation Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, and a game status of OUT. The report does not specify a sprain or provide a recovery timeline. NFL.com reported on October 2, 2026, that Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell said Friday that Jefferson had been ruled out; the article described the injury as one he suffered in Week 3. DNP means “did not participate” in practice. The designation confirms Jefferson did not practice during the reporting period; it does not establish the injury’s severity or when he might return.
