Find the Veteran’s Battle Axe in the lowest chamber of the King’s Crypt in Fainweald. Start at the Blackridge Pass Beacon, follow the cliffside route into the crypt, descend through its hazards, and loot the corpse beside a sarcophagus after dealing with the final guard. Simply entering the crypt does not award the weapon.
Where to find the Veteran’s Battle Axe
The route anchor is the Blackridge Pass Beacon. From there, follow the cliffside or mountain-wall path toward the King’s Crypt in Fainweald. Guides describe the entrance landmarks somewhat differently: one mentions a ledge-side cave and an illusory wall before a lift, while another summarizes the approach as a cliffside path from the beacon. Use the beacon and crypt entrance as your reliable bearings rather than relying on every intermediate landmark. MortalShell.org and the Mortal Shell II Companion also identify the crypt as the weapon’s location.

How to reach the pickup
- Travel to the Blackridge Pass Beacon and follow the cliffside route to the King’s Crypt entrance.
- Enter the crypt and descend through the dungeon. Watch for floor traps and other hazards; one walkthrough describes a lift, dark pressure-plate slabs, and a final drop.
- Deal with the spear-wielding guard in the lowest room.
- Inspect the corpse beside the sarcophagus and interact with it until the weapon-acquired confirmation appears.
The trap sequence and landmarks above come from a detailed walkthrough, so treat them as that guide’s route description rather than a separately confirmed account of every hazard cue. What the available stats do—and do not—show
The accessible weapon reference classifies the Veteran’s Battle Axe as an axe and lists an upgrade damage multiplier progressing from ×1 at +0 to ×1.8 at +16. Those are database multipliers, not damage-per-hit figures. MortalShell.org dates its database snapshot to August 19, 2026 and cautions that the listed values have not been retested against every patch. The reference also includes progressions for other attributes, such as stagger damage and elemental efficiency, but they should be treated with the same version caveat.

A separate search result reports “Base Damage 38,” but its page was inaccessible and the figure is not corroborated by the accessible references. It is not a reliable confirmed stat. The sources also do not establish a controlled, current-patch comparison that would support ranking this axe against other weapons.
