What are the VCT regions in 2026?
Riot’s 2026 VCT uses four international league territories: VCT Americas, VCT EMEA, VCT Pacific, and VCT China. The 2026 League Handbook refers to them as territories when describing qualification. What is the 2026 VCT event schedule?
Riot’s schedule lists three regional events—Kickoff, Stage 1, and Stage 2—and three global events: Masters Santiago, Masters London, and Champions Shanghai. The dates below are those shown on Riot’s official schedule; check that page for current fixtures, results, and updates.

How does a team qualify for Masters Santiago?
Under Riot’s 2026 handbook, each territory sends its Kickoff first-, second-, and third-place teams to Masters Santiago. That means the qualification route described here runs through the territory’s Kickoff result; the handbook does not describe a single global qualifier for these slots. The event rules are in the 2026 VCT League Handbook.
How does a team qualify for Champions Shanghai?
For each of the four territories, Riot’s 2026 handbook allocates Champions Shanghai places to the top two teams from that territory’s Stage 2 playoffs and the top two Championship Point earners from that territory. These are two separate routes: a strong Stage 2 playoff finish and Championship Points. The cited handbook describes these qualification rules for the 2026 season.
What is the VALORANT tournament format?
There is no one format that applies to every VCT competition. The event determines the field size, groups or bracket, match length, and what teams can qualify for. These 2026 examples show how much those rules can differ.

Kickoff: 12-team triple elimination
The 2026 Kickoff is described in Riot’s handbook as a 12-team triple-elimination bracket. The four teams that qualified for Champions in 2025 receive a first-round bye. This format applies to Kickoff, not automatically to Masters, Stage events, or Champions.
Champions Shanghai: groups, then double elimination
Riot describes Champions Shanghai as a 16-team event with four GSL groups. Group matches are best of three (Bo3); the top two teams in each group advance to an eight-team double-elimination playoff. The lower final and grand final are best of five (Bo5).
VCT Americas Stage 1: round-robin groups, then playoffs
In its March 19, 2026 explainer, Riot describes VCT Americas Stage 1 as two groups of six teams playing single round-robin matches, all Bo3. The top four from each group advance to double-elimination playoffs, where three teams qualify for Masters London. Where can I find current VALORANT team rosters?
A tournament schedule or qualification list identifies organizations, not necessarily the players currently eligible to compete for them. The official event material cited here does not provide a complete, dependable player-by-player directory across all four territories. For an active lineup, substitutes, or player roles, use the relevant current official team or event page and check the date shown there; do not infer a roster from an organization name in a schedule. Riot’s official schedule is a starting point for event and team information.

What changes in the VCT in 2027?
Riot announced on April 8, 2026, that it plans to move the VCT to an open-qualification tournament model in 2027. Riot said open qualifiers will feed new Cups and provide a path toward Masters and Champions. Its announcement put the central change this way: “Starting in 2027, the path to all Masters and Champions will begin with Open Qualifiers available to any team across the world.” Details including regional calendars, slot allocations, Game Changers, and event locations were left for later announcements, so they should not be treated as settled rules. The announcement is at Riot’s 2027 VCT update.
