AMD specifies Windows 11, a Ryzen 7 3700X, 16 GB of RAM, a Radeon RX 6700, DirectX 12 and 50 GB of SSD space at minimum. Its recommended tier raises the processor to a Ryzen 7 7700 and the graphics card to a Radeon RX 7900 GRE, while keeping 16 GB of RAM and 50 GB of SSD storage. AMD does not attach a resolution, graphics preset or frame-rate target to either tier, so these figures establish compatibility targets rather than a promise of 60 frames per second.
Valor Mortis minimum and recommended requirements
AMD publishes the requirements under a “Recommended Hardware” section with separate Minimum and Recommended blocks. The most important practical detail is that an SSD is required in both tiers; a computer that satisfies the processor and graphics figures but installs the game on a hard disk still misses the stated storage requirement.

The unchanged memory and disk figures do not mean the two tiers perform the same. The recommended list moves to a considerably newer CPU and a stronger GPU, which are the components most likely to determine graphics headroom. AMD does not state how either tier was tested, nor does it identify a target resolution, quality preset or FPS range.
What each Valor Mortis requirement means
Windows 11 is part of the minimum
Windows 11 is not merely a recommendation in AMD’s listing; it is the specified minimum operating system. A Windows 10 installation therefore falls outside the published baseline even if its processor, graphics card and memory meet the other numbers. Check the edition and build under Settings > System > About, and use Settings > Windows Update to install pending updates before troubleshooting a launch problem.

The CPU requirement is Ryzen 7-class
The minimum Ryzen 7 3700X and recommended Ryzen 7 7700 are both eight-core desktop processors, but model names alone do not make CPUs from different generations or manufacturers exact equivalents. Clock behavior, architecture, cooling, laptop power limits and background load all affect results. Treat AMD’s named parts as reference points, not as a guaranteed performance ranking for every similarly labeled chip.
16 GB of RAM is required
Both tiers list 16 GB. That is system memory, not graphics memory. A PC with 16 GB installed can still struggle if many browser tabs, recording tools or other programs consume a large portion before the game starts. Use Settings > System > About or Task Manager > Performance > Memory to confirm the installed amount, then close unnecessary applications while testing.
The RX 6700 is the minimum GPU
AMD names the Radeon RX 6700 at minimum and the Radeon RX 7900 GRE as recommended. The listing does not provide a VRAM figure for either Valor Mortis card, so do not substitute an assumed memory target. Laptop GPUs, reduced-power versions and integrated graphics can behave very differently from the desktop cards named in a requirement list.

DirectX 12 is listed for both tiers. In Windows, type dxdiag in the Start menu and check the DirectX version on the System tab. Valor Mortis also requires 50 GB available on an SSD. Leave additional free space for updates and normal operating-system overhead; the published 50 GB figure is the game’s stated capacity requirement, not a recommended amount of free space for every future patch.

Minimum requirements compared with Elden Ring
On the published minimum lists, Valor Mortis sets a higher bar in the CPU, memory and AMD GPU examples than Elden Ring. Elden Ring’s Steam support listing specifies Windows 10, a Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 3 3300X, 12 GB of RAM, and a GTX 1060 3 GB or RX 580 4 GB. Valor Mortis instead lists Windows 11, a Ryzen 7 3700X, 16 GB and an RX 6700.

Elden Ring asks for 10 GB more storage despite its lower listed compute baseline. That is a disk-capacity comparison only; it does not indicate which game loads faster or uses more memory during play. The requirement lists also use different operating-system baselines, with Valor Mortis specifying Windows 11.
At the recommended level, Valor Mortis lists a Ryzen 7 7700 and RX 7900 GRE with 16 GB of RAM. Elden Ring lists a Core i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600X, 16 GB, and a GTX 1070 8 GB or RX Vega 56 8 GB, plus 60 GB of storage. These are vendor and platform listings, not a controlled benchmark between the games.
Minimum requirements compared with Lords of the Fallen
Lords of the Fallen (2023) provides a closer comparison in memory and AMD graphics terminology. Its official support FAQ lists 12 GB of RAM at minimum and 16 GB at recommended. It names a GTX 1060 or RX 590 with 6 GB of VRAM at minimum, and an RTX 2080 or RX 6700 with 8 GB of VRAM at recommended. Valor Mortis places 16 GB and the RX 6700 at its minimum tier, so its published baseline reaches components that Lords of the Fallen assigns to recommended hardware.

The Lords of the Fallen Steam listing additionally describes its recommended configuration as 1080p High Quality Settings at 60 FPS. That target belongs to the Steam listing, not the wording inspected in the game’s official FAQ, and it should not be transferred to Valor Mortis. Valor Mortis’ available specification page gives no equivalent target.
How to check whether your PC is in range
- Confirm Windows. Open Settings > System > About. Valor Mortis’ published minimum is Windows 11.
- Check the processor. In the same page, read the processor line and compare the model with the Ryzen 7 3700X minimum or Ryzen 7 7700 recommendation. Do not judge by “Ryzen 7” alone.
- Check installed memory. Open Task Manager > Performance > Memory. You want at least 16 GB installed, with enough free memory after startup programs are loaded.
- Identify the graphics card. In Task Manager > Performance > GPU, record the exact model. Compare desktop and laptop variants carefully; the requirement names a Radeon RX 6700, not every GPU using a similar number.
- Verify DirectX. Run
dxdiagand read the DirectX Version field. The listed API is DirectX 12. - Verify the installation drive. In File Explorer, right-click the target drive and choose Properties to confirm it is an SSD and has at least 50 GB available, preferably with additional room for updates.
Meeting every minimum line means the computer matches the published specification. It does not establish a particular frame rate, resolution or preset because AMD supplies none of those targets.
How to interpret a near miss
You have 12 GB of RAM
That matches the minimum memory published for Elden Ring and Lords of the Fallen, but it is below Valor Mortis’ 16 GB minimum. Treat the shortfall as a real compatibility risk rather than assuming another Soulslike’s behavior predicts this game.
You have an RX 590 or similar older card
An RX 590 appears in Lords of the Fallen’s minimum list, while Valor Mortis names an RX 6700. The model comparison indicates that the two published baselines are different; it does not provide a conversion table or a guaranteed result for intermediate cards.

You use Windows 10 or a hard drive
Both conditions fall outside Valor Mortis’ stated minimum: Windows 11 is specified, and an SSD is required. Resolve those platform constraints before trying to tune in-game settings.
Your processor is close but not identical
Model-number comparisons across CPU generations and manufacturers are only approximations. Check independent benchmark data for your exact processor if you need a buying decision, but do not present such a comparison as an official Valor Mortis requirement.

- They do not state 1080p, 1440p or 4K resolution targets.
- They do not state a minimum or recommended frame rate.
- They do not identify the graphics preset used for either tier.
- They do not account for laptop power limits, cooling, drivers, background applications or future patches.
- They do not constitute a benchmark between Valor Mortis, Elden Ring and Lords of the Fallen.
For that reason, avoid claims such as “the minimum system runs at 60 FPS” unless a later official specification or a reproducible test supplies that evidence.

Start with the fundamentals: install current graphics drivers, apply Windows updates, close heavy background processes and confirm that the game is installed on an SSD. These steps remove common configuration problems but do not turn hardware below the published baseline into supported hardware.

The official Lords of the Fallen FAQ advises using its in-game Auto-Set graphics option and updating graphics drivers for PC performance issues. That is guidance for Lords of the Fallen, not a tested Valor Mortis fix. If Valor Mortis exposes a similar automatic settings tool, it can be a sensible first experiment; otherwise adjust settings methodically and record which change affects stability or frame pacing.
Release-date and source caveat
A Steam store search result captured on October 13, 2026 displayed an October 13, 2026 release date and indicated that the game was not yet available on Steam when that result was crawled. The full store page could not be inspected beyond its age-check screen at that time. Availability and requirements can change around launch, so check the live store entry and AMD’s official Valor Mortis page before installing or upgrading hardware.
Verdict
Valor Mortis’ published minimum is the demanding one in this comparison: Windows 11, 16 GB of RAM, a Ryzen 7 3700X and an RX 6700 on an SSD. That is above Elden Ring’s listed minimum in CPU, memory and AMD graphics examples, and it reaches the RX 6700 and 16 GB figures that Lords of the Fallen assigns to its recommended tier. The recommended Valor Mortis configuration rises again to a Ryzen 7 7700 and RX 7900 GRE. Use those figures to check whether your PC is in the supported range, but wait for an explicit resolution or FPS target before making performance promises.
