Start Lullaby at the empty crib in the house beside the water in Fallen Village’s Marketplace. Find the Weathered Key outside the back door, use it on the house across the river to take the Toy, then return the Toy to the crib. The quest awards Tomorrow’s Promise, an Amber; no published guide gives a recommended level, and replayability has not been confirmed.

| Question | Established answer | What it means in practice |
|---|---|---|
| Where does Lullaby begin? | Fallen Village > Marketplace, in the house near the water | Use the Marketplace Lantern as your navigation point, then enter the nearby house and interact with the empty crib. |
| What level should you be? | No numeric recommendation is published | You can decide when to attempt it based on your equipment and comfort with the area rather than a stated level gate. |
| What is the reward? | Tomorrow’s Promise, an Amber | The reward is a collectible equipment effect, not a weapon, currency payout, or consumable. |
| Is it missable? | No, according to the side-quest guide | You may return after progressing through the story, including after the main story is complete. |
| Can it be replayed? | Not documented | Do not assume a repeat-completion command or a second Amber reward exists. |
How to start Lullaby
- Travel to Fallen Village > Marketplace. The Marketplace Lantern is the most useful fast-travel destination for this quest.
- Look for the house close to the water and go inside.
- Approach the empty crib. Interacting with it starts Lullaby and establishes the crib as the quest’s return point.
If the crib does not trigger the quest, make sure you are in the house by the water rather than another Marketplace building. The starting object is the empty crib itself, not an NPC or a sign outside.

Full Lullaby walkthrough
1. Leave through the back door
After activating the crib, exit the house through its back door. The route is intentionally short at first, but enemies are positioned near the item you need, so avoid assuming that the key is inside the crib house.
2. Collect the Weathered Key
Search the area just beyond the back exit, near the enemies. The item is the Weathered Key. If you cannot see it immediately, clear or pass the nearby enemies and check the ground around their position rather than returning to the front of the house.

3. Retrace the path toward the previous area
With the key in your inventory, head back toward the Marketplace Lantern and continue along the path leading toward the area you previously came from. Lullaby uses a backtracking loop: the objective is not in a newly opened section directly behind the crib house.
4. Cross the river after the Volunteer
Continue until you pass the Volunteer. At that point, turn right. The correct route requires a jump across the river to reach the house on the opposite side. Line up the jump before committing; falling into the river can force you to repeat part of the approach.
5. Unlock the riverside house
Use the Weathered Key on the door of the house across the river. The key is quest-specific for this step, so if the door does not open, verify that you collected the item near the enemies behind the crib house and that you followed the path past the Volunteer.

6. Take the Toy from the bed
Inside the unlocked house, inspect the bed and pick up the Toy. This is the retrieval objective that completes the middle portion of Lullaby; there is no second key or additional item search documented for the house.

7. Return to the crib
Leave the house, retrace your route to the crib house in Fallen Village’s Marketplace, and interact with the crib again. Bringing the Toy back completes Lullaby and grants the quest reward.
What level should you be for Lullaby?
No researched walkthrough publishes a recommended player level or a numeric level requirement for Lullaby. The available route descriptions identify the region, landmarks, enemies, river crossing, and locked house, but they do not attach a level threshold to the quest.
That means a precise answer such as “level 10” or “level 20” would be unsupported. Treat your own survivability as the practical test: if the enemies near the back door or the route to the river are overwhelming, improve your build or return later. Conversely, there is no documented reason to delay the quest solely because you have not reached a particular level.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThe quest’s movement pattern also matters more than a published level number. You must navigate back through a visited area, pass the Volunteer, make a river jump, and fight or evade enemies around the Weathered Key. A player who can handle those encounters and the traversal can attempt Lullaby; the guides do not identify a separate level gate.

Lullaby’s reward: Tomorrow’s Promise
Lullaby rewards Tomorrow’s Promise, an Amber. Valor Mortis uses Ambers as collectible equipment effects, so this is a build-related collectible rather than a conventional gear drop or a consumable item.
The Amber location guide records 28 unique Ambers spread across 55 locations and lists Tomorrow’s Promise under Fallen Village > Marketplace as the reward for Lullaby. This makes the quest relevant to players tracking Amber completion even if they are not pursuing every side quest.
Because the reward is tied to quest completion, interact with the crib after returning with the Toy and wait for the completion state before leaving the area. Simply taking the Toy from the bed does not award Tomorrow’s Promise; the final crib interaction is required.

Is Lullaby missable?
No. The side-quest guide identifies Lullaby as non-missable and states that, with the exception of The Choir, side quests can be started and completed after the story. You can therefore postpone Lullaby while following the main path and come back to Fallen Village later.

- Schalte mit dem gesammelten Wissen neue Gerätschaften, Waffen und Fähigkeiten frei
- Aufregende Bosskämpfe: Grauen erregende Gegner, die nach vielseitigen Strategien und Taktiken verlangen
Postponing it does not change the documented route: you still begin at the Marketplace crib, collect the Weathered Key near the back-door enemies, cross the river after the Volunteer, take the Toy from the bed, and return to the crib. If you are organizing a completion run, mark Lullaby for a later cleanup visit rather than treating it as a one-time story window.
The Choir exception is important context. The guide’s missability statement does not apply universally to every side quest, but it does specifically cover Lullaby. Do not transfer The Choir’s timing risk to this quest.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can you replay Lullaby after finishing it?
Replayability is unconfirmed. The consulted guides do not document a replay command, a way to reset Lullaby, repeat completion, or a second Tomorrow’s Promise reward.
In practical terms, treat Lullaby as a one-time completion until the game itself shows a repeat option. If you return to the crib after finishing, you should not expect the quest to restart merely because the area remains accessible. The absence of documented replay behavior is not proof that a hidden reset is impossible; it means there is no reliable instruction for doing so and no confirmed repeat-reward loop to plan around.

Troubleshooting the route
The crib does nothing
- Confirm that you are in the house near the water in Fallen Village’s Marketplace.
- Stand close enough to the empty crib to show the interaction prompt.
- If you arrived from another direction, leave and re-enter the house, then approach the crib again.
You cannot find the Weathered Key
- Exit through the back door, not the front entrance.
- Search near the enemies outside the back of the house.
- Check that Lullaby was started at the crib; the key is part of the active quest route.
The locked house will not open
- Follow the path back toward the previous area and pass the Volunteer.
- Turn right and jump across the river to the house beyond it.
- Use the Weathered Key on that door; the Toy is inside on the bed.
You took the Toy but received no reward
The Toy is not the final hand-in. Return to the original crib house and interact with the crib to register completion and receive Tomorrow’s Promise.
You are worried about missing the quest
Lullaby is listed as non-missable, and side quests other than The Choir can be completed after the story. You can leave Fallen Village and return later without treating the quest as permanently lost.
Why the quest sends you backward
Lullaby’s structure reflects Valor Mortis’s exploration-focused, metroidvania-like design. The first objective sends you out of the crib house for a key; the key then opens a house reached by revisiting an earlier route and crossing the river. This is deliberate backtracking rather than a failed trigger or an indication that the key belongs to a nearby door.
Use the Marketplace Lantern as your anchor when you get turned around. The sequence is easier to remember as three landmarks: crib house, Volunteer and river crossing, and locked house with the bed. Once the Toy is collected, reverse that sequence and finish at the crib.
Completion checklist
- Arrive at Fallen Village > Marketplace.
- Enter the house near the water.
- Activate the empty crib.
- Exit through the back door.
- Collect the Weathered Key near the enemies.
- Return toward the previous area.
- Pass the Volunteer, turn right, and jump across the river.
- Unlock the house on the far side.
- Take the Toy from the bed.
- Return to the original house.
- Interact with the crib to complete Lullaby and obtain Tomorrow’s Promise.
What is and is not established
The route, location, reward, and non-missable status are documented. A numeric recommended level is not published, and replay or repeat-reward behavior is not documented. Keeping those categories separate prevents two common mistakes: inventing a level recommendation from the enemy difficulty and assuming that an accessible quest can automatically be reset for another Amber.
