Most Used Cars Simulator problems fall into one of four groups: an old progression bug, a post-update launch failure, a repair-inventory bug, or a problem that has only been reported by players and has not been confirmed by the developer. Start by updating the Steam build and identifying the exact symptom; then use the matching check below instead of assuming every failure means the game is currently broken.
Used Cars Simulator is DreamWay Games’ vehicle-trading and repair simulation for Windows PC, published by PlayWay S.A. The full release arrived on October 9, 2026, after Early Access began on April 9, 2025. The fixes discussed here are tied to dated developer notes, so a historical bug may already be resolved in your current build.

- A September 7, 2026 developer update addressed repeated sale of the same car, a condition that could break progression. The note also connects that fix with containers that could not be opened, cars for sale that failed to appear, and quest cars that failed to spawn.
- An August 14, 2026 hotfix addressed scrap being consumed beyond the required amount when a car was repaired with one hit while the player had particular repair-related skills.
Other phrases are community language, not proof of a universal defect. Players have asked, “Is the game broken?” and posted reports such as “Can't sell rusted cars.” Those reports can help you describe a symptom when seeking support, but the available developer information does not establish that every rusted car should be sellable, that the behavior is unintended, or that there is a confirmed workaround.

Use the distinction this way:
- Developer-confirmed historical bug: compare your symptom and game version with the named fix.
- Community report: test the basic conditions, record what happens, and report it if it persists; do not present it as an established bug.
- Performance or compatibility issue: compare your PC with Steam's published requirements before blaming the game code.
Check your build and PC before troubleshooting
Install the current Steam update
Both confirmed fixes are dated. Open Steam, let pending downloads finish, and check the game's displayed version before drawing conclusions from an older save or symptom. A fix that was announced in August or September may already be part of the current release, while a problem that appears after a later update may have a different cause.
Steam states that the listed requirements may change. Treat them as a baseline, not a guarantee of smooth performance or freedom from crashes.

Meeting the minimum line only means that the computer is in the published support range. It does not promise a particular frame rate, loading time, or stability level. If your hardware is below minimum, performance problems and crashes should be treated as compatibility concerns first. If it is between minimum and recommended, reduce expectations for demanding scenes and keep other applications closed while testing. A system at or above recommended is better positioned for troubleshooting a game-specific fault, but it still does not rule out corrupted files or an update-related problem.

A practical troubleshooting sequence
- Name the symptom precisely. Decide whether the game will not launch, a container or vehicle is missing, a quest cannot progress, scrap disappears during repair, a sale interaction fails, or the game runs poorly. Avoid describing all of these as simply “broken.”
- Record the current build. Note the version shown by Steam and whether the problem began immediately after an update.
- Apply pending updates. Restart Steam if necessary so the client completes the download rather than leaving the game on an older build.
- Compare your PC with the published requirements. Check Windows edition, processor, graphics card, RAM, and free storage against the table above.
- For a post-update launch failure, verify local files. In Steam, open the game's Properties and use the installed-files or local-files verification control. This is the developer's suggested first check for some update-related launch problems, not a guaranteed cure for every launch failure.
- Match progression symptoms to the September fix. If a car can be sold repeatedly, a container will not open, a listing is absent, or a quest vehicle does not spawn, update first and test whether the behavior remains in the current save.
- For a scrap-loss report, capture the exact repair context. Write down whether the repair was completed with one hit, which repair-related skills were active, and the scrap count immediately before and after.
- For an unconfirmed sale problem, test conditions without assuming the rule. Check whether the vehicle meets whatever sale conditions the game displays, try another vehicle or available sales route, and note whether the result changes after updating.
- Report unresolved behavior with reproducible details. Include the build, save context, steps that trigger the problem, the exact message or missing object, relevant skills or items, and screenshots or video when practical. Use the developer's community channels and Steam's support or community areas.
Game or part of the game will not launch after an update
DreamWay Games has warned that a problem launching the game, or parts of it, can sometimes occur after an update and may be related to Steam rather than the game itself. That statement is a possibility, not a diagnosis for every player.
What to do first
- Allow Steam to finish all downloads for Used Cars Simulator.
- Close and reopen Steam, then try the game again.
- Use Steam's local-file verification option from the game's Properties and wait for the check to complete.
- Record whether the failure occurs before the main menu, when loading a save, or only when opening a particular feature.

How to distinguish the historical issue
- Look for a direct connection to a sale that was repeated or accepted more than once.
- Check whether the missing container, listing, or quest vehicle appears after the game has been updated.
- Test the current save rather than relying on a description of what happened in an older build.
Do not treat the old bug as a guaranteed explanation for every missing object. If the current build still shows the same behavior, preserve the save context and describe the sequence that led to it when reporting the issue. A fresh save and an old save may not expose the same state, so identify which one you tested.
Scrap disappears during a repair
The August 14, 2026 hotfix concerns a narrow combination: repairing a car with one hit while possessing specific repair-related skills could consume more scrap than required. The developer says that bug was fixed.
What to document if it still happens
- The game version shown by Steam.
- The repair method, including whether the repair completed in one hit.
- The repair-related skills active at the time.
- Your scrap inventory immediately before the repair.
- The amount remaining immediately afterward and the vehicle state.
The available information does not provide a verified player workaround. Avoid recommending repeated repairs or deliberately changing skills as a fix unless the developer confirms such a step. Can't sell a rusted car or another vehicle
“Can't sell rusted cars” appears as a community report title. It is valuable search language, but it is not developer confirmation that selling a rusted vehicle is always intended or that a bug affects all players.
Questions to check before calling it a bug
- Does the game show a condition, ownership, repair, or quest requirement for that vehicle?
- Does the same failure occur with another vehicle, or only with one car?
- Are you using the same sale interaction that worked previously, or a different route?
- Does the behavior remain after Steam installs the latest update?
- Is there an error message, a disabled control, or simply no response?
These checks are diagnostic questions, not documented mechanics. The available sources do not specify the game's complete selling rules or provide an official fix for rusted-car sales. Include the answers, the vehicle state, and a short video or screenshot in a report rather than asserting that the rule is broken.

Start with the requirements table before changing settings or labeling a performance problem a bug. Used Cars Simulator lists Windows 10 64-bit, 8 GB RAM, a GTX 1050 Ti or Radeon R9 280, and 20 GB of storage as minimum. The recommended line raises memory to 16 GB, lists an i7-9700 or Ryzen 5 3600, an RTX 3060 or Radeon RX 5700, and 24 GB of storage.
How to interpret the comparison
- Below minimum: crashes, slow loading, or unstable frame rates may be caused by unsupported hardware or insufficient storage.
- At minimum: the game may run, but the listing does not promise smooth performance.
- Near recommended: performance should have more headroom, yet a corrupted install or update conflict can still cause failures.
- At or above recommended: record the exact scene, settings, and reproduction steps so support can investigate a game-specific issue.
Because Steam says the requirements can change, recheck the listing when diagnosing a new build. Do not use the requirement table as evidence that a particular crash is widespread; it only establishes the published hardware baseline.
When and how to report a problem

A small recent sample can move quickly, and a positive review does not rule out a problem in a specific save or hardware configuration.
The Steam Early Access section also carries DreamWay Games' statement: “Our aim is to release a polished, engaging, and bug-free game.” That is the developer's goal, not a promise that no build will contain defects.
