Samsung’s Call & text on other devices feature lets a compatible Galaxy tablet make and receive calls and send messages using your Galaxy phone’s number. To set it up, sign in to the same Samsung account on both devices and turn on the feature on each. Availability depends on the models, carrier and region.
What Call & text on other devices does
Samsung describes the feature as a way to use your phone’s number for calls and messages on other Samsung devices. Its documented phone-and-tablet workflow connects a compatible Galaxy tablet to a Galaxy phone, so the tablet can make and receive calls and send messages through the phone’s number. Samsung calls it a service that forwards and synchronizes calls and messages. Samsung’s support guide explains the phone-and-tablet setup.

What you need before setup
- A compatible Galaxy phone and Galaxy tablet. Samsung cautions that availability can vary by model and carrier, so check support for both exact devices.
- The same Samsung account signed in on the phone and tablet.
- Samsung’s Philippines guide specifies that the phone and tablet must be in the same country or region. Do not assume the feature will work across national borders.
Turn on the feature on both devices
- On the Galaxy phone, open Settings and look for Call & text on other devices. Samsung’s Philippines guide gives the path Settings > Advanced features > Call & text on other devices.
- Turn on the feature. Samsung says a Quick panel toggle may also be available.
- On the Galaxy tablet, sign in to the same Samsung account, then find and turn on Call & text on other devices there as well.
- Once the requirements are met, Samsung says the phone and tablet connect automatically. Try placing a call or sending a message from the tablet.
Menus vary by model and software. For Galaxy devices running Android 13 with One UI 5, Samsung’s Singapore guidance groups connectivity options under Settings > Connected devices. If neither path matches your device, search Settings for “Call & text on other devices.” Samsung’s Connected Devices guide describes the One UI 5 organization.

Samsung documents a specific fix for a Galaxy Z Fold6 or Z Flip6 paired with a tablet that uses Samsung Messages: check that Text on other devices is enabled for the tablet. If the tablet uses Google Messages, open the app’s profile, then go to Messages settings > Advanced and enable Text on Galaxy devices. This is a troubleshooting path for that configuration, not a universal requirement for every phone and tablet. See Samsung’s Fold6/Flip6 tablet messaging guidance.

Do not assume tablets, watches and XR work alike
Samsung’s tablet instructions do not establish that the same calling and messaging behavior applies to every connected device. Its US smartwatch guidance lists restrictions: Call & text on other devices does not work with Verizon or AT&T phones or with an LTE Galaxy watch that has active mobile service. Samsung also notes that call forwarding is unavailable and remote incoming calls may not arrive. Read Samsung’s smartwatch support details before relying on a watch for calls.
Galaxy XR has a separate limitation: Samsung says Call on other devices supports calls, but texting through Text on other devices is not supported. Samsung’s Galaxy XR guidance covers that device.
