USDS cash-out has two different meanings. Swapping USDS for USDC through Sky.money’s Peg Stability Module (PSM) is an on-chain token conversion. The June 12, 2026 Sky explainer says that this specific USDS/USDC route has a zero protocol swap fee, but you still pay blockchain gas. It does not send dollars to your bank.
To receive fiat, you normally need a separate exchange or off-ramp that accepts your USDC, country, network and account type, then pays out through its supported bank or payment rail. No universal retail withdrawal limit, bank-settlement time or off-ramp fee is established for every user, so the live route and provider terms must be checked immediately before you confirm.

What “cash out USDS” actually involves
USDS is Sky Protocol’s native stablecoin. The protocol documentation describes converting it back to the original stablecoin through Sky.money. In practical terms, a cash-out can contain two separate transactions:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors- On-chain conversion: USDS is exchanged for USDC, usually through the PSM. You receive another crypto asset in your wallet; no bank payment occurs.
- Fiat withdrawal: USDC is sent to a separate exchange or off-ramp, sold or converted there, and withdrawn using that provider’s supported payout method.
An independent S&P Global Ratings assessment distinguishes this protocol exchange from issuer redemption and says USDS cannot be redeemed for fiat by an issuer. Therefore, “zero-fee USDS cash-out” is misleading unless it refers only to the PSM swap fee and excludes gas, exchange charges and bank-payout costs.

Fees you should expect
USDS-to-USDC PSM fee
Sky.money’s explainer, published June 12, 2026, says swaps between USDS and USDC through the PSM are set at a 1:1 rate with zero protocol swap fees in both directions. That is a route-specific protocol charge, not a guarantee that the transaction costs nothing.
Blockchain gas
Every on-chain transaction requires gas in the network’s fee token. The amount varies with network conditions, the selected network and the transaction type. Sky’s Terms of Use state that users are responsible for gas and applicable service or transaction fees, and that fees can change through Sky governance. Your wallet must hold enough of the required gas token; having USDS alone may not be sufficient.
Other stablecoin routes
If you select a route involving a stablecoin other than USDC, the fee can differ. Sky.money directs users to the live interface’s fee breakdown rather than quoting one permanent number. Read the route, network, quoted amount and total fee on the confirmation screen immediately before signing.

Fiat-off-ramp charges
The reviewed Sky sources do not identify a particular exchange or bank-payout provider, so there is no substantiated universal fee figure for the second stage. A provider may charge a trading spread, withdrawal fee, network deposit fee, foreign-exchange fee or bank-transfer fee. Treat each as provider-specific and check the current schedule for your country and payout rail.
| Cost component | What is established | What you must verify |
|---|---|---|
| PSM USDS ↔ USDC protocol fee | Zero for the documented route, according to Sky.money’s June 12, 2026 explainer | That you selected USDS and USDC, the intended network and the PSM route |
| Blockchain gas | Applies to the transaction; paid by the wallet | Required fee token, current gas quote and whether you have enough balance |
| Alternative stablecoin route | Fee depends on the route | Live interface fee breakdown before approval |
| Exchange or off-ramp | No universal amount established | Trading, deposit, withdrawal and foreign-exchange charges for your provider |
| Bank payout | No universal amount established | Provider’s fee schedule, currency conversion and receiving-bank policy |
Limits: what is known and what is not
The available documentation does not establish a single maximum or minimum that applies to every person redeeming USDS. Contract-level rate limits, pool parameters or governance settings for a particular route should not be presented as a universal personal withdrawal cap. They can change and may apply only to that contract or transaction path.
For a real transaction, check three different limits:

- Protocol and liquidity limit: whether the selected PSM route has enough available liquidity for your amount at the time you submit it.
- Wallet and network limit: whether your wallet, network and transaction size are supported and whether the gas balance is sufficient.
- Off-ramp limit: the receiving provider’s minimum, maximum, daily, monthly or rolling limits for USDC deposits and fiat withdrawals.
An off-ramp can impose identity, source-of-funds or account-tier limits even when the on-chain swap succeeds. Those are provider compliance rules, not a general Sky requirement. Confirm them with the chosen service before transferring funds.

Settlement times: separate blockchain confirmation from bank delivery
Sky.money describes the PSM conversion as a single transaction and says pre-minted liquidity allows swaps to clear without waiting for a mint. “Instant” in that context describes the conversion mechanism after the transaction is accepted; it is not a promise that a wallet transaction, exchange deposit, compliance review or bank payout will be instant.
| Stage | What can happen | Why no universal time can be quoted |
|---|---|---|
| Wallet signs the USDS/USDC swap | The transaction is broadcast and waits for network processing | Confirmation speed depends on the network and fee conditions |
| USDC appears in your wallet | After the transaction is confirmed, the wallet can display the received token | Wallet indexing and confirmation policies vary |
| Transfer to an exchange or off-ramp | The provider credits the deposit after its required confirmations | Each provider sets asset, network and confirmation rules |
| Account or compliance review | A deposit or withdrawal may be held for verification | Review duration depends on the provider, account and jurisdiction |
| Fiat payout | The provider sends funds through its supported bank or payment rail | Rail, country, currency, cutoff times and weekends affect delivery |
Because no reviewed source supplies an end-to-end bank settlement estimate, do not advertise a guaranteed number of minutes or hours. Use the provider’s live estimate for your account and payout method, and allow for review or banking delays.

How to convert USDS to USDC safely
The interface at sky.money is live and can change. Use the current labels shown there, but the transaction logic is generally as follows:
- Confirm your destination. Decide whether you only need USDC in a wallet or whether you ultimately need fiat. If you need fiat, verify the off-ramp accepts USDC on the same network before swapping.
- Check the network and gas token. Identify the network holding your USDS and the network used by the selected route. Make sure the wallet contains enough of that network’s gas token for approval and swap transactions.
- Connect the correct wallet. Check the wallet address and network in the interface. Never approve a transaction from an unverified domain or a wallet you did not intend to use.
- Select USDS as the source and USDC as the destination. Confirm the token symbols and contract/network details. A similarly named token on another network is not interchangeable.
- Review the quote. Look for the 1:1 amount, protocol fee, gas estimate, route, slippage or minimum-received value and any warning about liquidity. The zero protocol fee applies only to the documented USDS/USDC PSM route.
- Approve and submit. If the wallet requests a separate token approval followed by the swap, review both transactions. Sign only after checking the spender, amount and network.
- Wait for confirmation. Use the wallet’s transaction hash and the relevant network explorer to verify completion. A pending or failed transaction is different from an off-ramp delay.
- Verify the received USDC. Confirm the balance and network in your wallet before sending it anywhere else.
How the fiat stage works
Once USDC is in your wallet, a separate provider must support the exact asset and network. The following sequence is a planning checklist, not a universal provider workflow:
- Open an account with a provider that serves your country and supports USDC deposits on your network.
- Complete any identity or account verification required before deposits or fiat withdrawals. Do this before moving a large amount.
- Copy the provider’s USDC deposit address and network exactly. Sending on an unsupported network can delay recovery or make funds unrecoverable.
- Send a small test amount first when the provider’s policy and fees make that practical. Wait for the required confirmations and verify the credited balance.
- Sell or convert USDC using the provider’s quoted rate, spread and trading fee. Record the amount received in fiat.
- Choose an available payout rail, review its fee, minimum, maximum and estimated delivery window, then submit the withdrawal.
- Retain the transaction hash, provider receipt and payout reference until the bank entry is complete.
The provider may pause a transaction for compliance review, request additional information or apply account-tier limits. Those conditions are not implied by Sky’s PSM documentation and must be checked directly with the provider.

Route comparison before you press Confirm
| Question | On-chain USDS → USDC swap | USDC → fiat withdrawal |
|---|---|---|
| What changes? | One crypto token becomes another in your wallet | Crypto is sold or converted and a fiat payment is sent |
| Where does it occur? | Sky.money/PSM and the selected blockchain | A separate exchange or off-ramp and its banking or payment network |
| Primary fee to inspect | Protocol fee plus network gas | Trading spread, service fee, withdrawal fee and possible currency conversion |
| Liquidity question | Is the selected route available for your amount now? | Does the provider accept the deposit and have the required fiat payout capacity? |
| Limit question | What does the live route and wallet support? | What are the provider’s account, daily, monthly and payout limits? |
| Timing question | When will the blockchain transaction confirm? | When will deposit credit, review and bank settlement finish? |
Liquidity figures and why they are not guarantees
Sky.money’s June 12, 2026 explainer reported roughly $4.12 billion in stablecoin liquidity in the PSM at the time it was written. That is a dated publisher figure, not a current balance, an assurance that every transaction size will execute, or evidence of fiat-withdrawal capacity. Check the live interface and, where appropriate, current on-chain data before relying on liquidity for a large conversion.
What the figure cannot tell you
- It does not establish your personal maximum or minimum.
- It does not show how much liquidity is available on your selected network or route at this moment.
- It does not cover an exchange’s USDC deposit capacity or its bank-payout limits.
- It does not shorten compliance or banking settlement times.
Common failure modes and recovery checks
The interface shows a fee despite “zero fee” claims
Check whether the route is USDS/USDC through the PSM or another stablecoin path. Then separate the protocol fee from the gas estimate and any displayed service charge. If the route is not the documented PSM pair, do not assume the zero-fee statement applies.
The transaction is pending
Use the transaction hash on the correct network explorer. A pending transaction usually requires waiting for network processing; submitting repeated swaps can create duplicate exposure. If it fails, inspect the wallet’s error and the interface’s current route before trying again.

Verify the destination address, token contract and network. The receiving provider may require additional confirmations or may not support that network. Contact the provider with the transaction hash rather than sending another transfer.
The bank withdrawal is delayed
Check the provider’s status, verification messages, payout reference, cutoff time and supported banking rail. A confirmed on-chain swap does not prove that the fiat withdrawal has been approved or sent.
The amount exceeds a displayed limit
Do not treat a route-level limit as a universal Sky rule. Check whether the restriction comes from the PSM route, wallet, provider account tier, jurisdiction or payout rail, and ask the relevant service about supported alternatives before splitting transactions.
Quick Recap
Pre-redemption checklist
- Have you defined whether the destination is USDC or bank fiat?
- Does the receiving exchange or off-ramp accept USDC on this exact network?
- Did you read the live route fee and total gas estimate?
- Does the wallet hold the required gas token?
- Did you verify the token, network, amount and minimum received?
- Have you checked provider identity requirements, limits, fees and payout timing for your country?
- Is the amount within the currently available route liquidity?
- Did you save the transaction hash and payout reference?
