Fans commonly call the team the USWNT, but this was specifically the U.S. Olympic women’s soccer team competing at Paris 2024. Olympic roster and tournament rules differ from an ordinary senior national-team window, so the Olympic description is the more precise one while “USWNT” remains the familiar shorthand.
