The UPERFECT GR19BU, formerly marketed as the UColor Apex, is a 19-inch portable monitor with a 3840 × 2160 QLED panel and a 144 Hz maximum refresh rate. It is a strong secondary screen for a gaming laptop, console, mini-PC, or creative workflow. It does not, however, deliver 4K at 144 Hz by itself. The resolution and frame rate you see are set by the device you connect, and the cable path matters as much as the panel. The monitor is not battery-powered, not touch-enabled, and not pocket-sized.
For buyers who accept a separate power connection and a bulkier carry, it is an appealing high-refresh 4K display. For a basic low-cost auxiliary screen, OLED-style contrast, or very light travel, it is the wrong choice.

Gaming performance depends on your source device
A monitor can only display what it receives. The GR19BU’s 144 Hz figure is the ceiling it can accept, and reaching it requires a computer or console that outputs both the chosen resolution and the chosen frame rate. Take2Play describes 4K at 144 frames per second as demanding for modern games and says that a handheld console can be run at lower resolutions to get smoother play on this panel.
Roger found the same trade-off on his laptop: lowering the resolution was what made higher frame rates possible. The practical rule is to decide whether you want sharpness or speed for a given game, then set the source to match.

USB-C mattered for 144 Hz in this setup. A USB-C port that does not carry video, or a cable without the needed bandwidth, may not reach the same result, so test your own combination before relying on it.

Image quality: bright enough for a room, not OLED
The panel is QLED, and Take2Play notes that buyers should not expect the deep blacks of an OLED display. Roger’s measured maximum brightness of 379 nits is adequate for a desk in a typical room, but he reports that the panel needs extra power to reach that peak. Color coverage of 100% sRGB and 100% P3, with 87% NTSC and 89% Adobe RGB, is a strong set of figures for content work, though they are one reviewer’s measurements.
Both reviews describe the image as rich and the HDR as effective. Those are impressions from reviewers, and they should be read as opinions rather than universal measured performance.

Portability: a larger screen that is still a carry-on item
Take2Play describes 19 inches as more comfortable than a 15.6-inch laptop screen, while noting it is less convenient to carry. The PC Crazy review frames the monitor as a compact secondary screen for people with limited desk space or who travel. The trade-off is simple: you gain screen area and 4K detail, and you give up the easy packing of a smaller portable display and the convenience of a battery.

Roger reports that one USB-C connection can power the display, but it will not reach maximum brightness. If brightness matters for your room or your color work, plan for a separate power connection and confirm which power accessories the listing includes.

PC Crazy points to a USB hub as one possible way to add connectivity to a laptop setup. That is optional. Add a hub only if you need ports your laptop does not already have, and confirm that the hub passes through the video signal you need.
Nintendo Switch 2 single-cable setup requires a firmware update
UPERFECT’s support article, which maps the GR19BU to the earlier UColor Apex name, says that a single-cable connection from a Nintendo Switch 2 requires a software upgrade. The article was updated June 9, 2026. Its stated requirements are:
- A Windows PC to perform the update
- A full-function USB-C port on that PC
- A USB-C cable that supports DisplayPort
- Power kept connected throughout the process, so the monitor is not disconnected during the update

- Good fit: a gaming laptop or mini-PC owner who wants a 19-inch 4K secondary screen with a high refresh ceiling and can accept a separate power connection.
- Good fit: a creator who values wide color coverage in a portable display and is comfortable matching resolution to frame rate.
- Good fit: a Switch 2 owner who can meet the Windows, full-function USB-C, and DisplayPort cable requirements for the update.
- Poor fit: a buyer who wants the cheapest basic auxiliary display.
