As of October 4, 2026, the available evidence does not support a reliable list of 10 upcoming Steam games that clearly fit both dark fantasy and Soulslike. The strongest confirmed matches are Valor Mortis, listed for October 13, and Ember and Blade, listed for Q4 2026—but the latter is a survivors-like with Souls-like bosses, not a conventional Soulslike. A few other possible picks are listed as Coming soon or reported elsewhere, but their fit or current Steam status needs confirmation. Steam release dates can change, so check each store page before planning around a launch.
How to read this watchlist
“Soulslike” can mean a store tag, a developer’s description of combat, or a broader resemblance readers notice. Those are not interchangeable. This guide separates Steam’s own labels and listings from adjacent games, and does not pad the count with titles already released or candidates whose fit has not been established. Steam’s upcoming releases page and Soulslike search are useful starting points, but search results are not a substitute for checking a game’s live store page.

Best-supported upcoming matches
Valor Mortis
Steam status: listed for October 13, 2026. Genre evidence: Steam’s Soulslike search tags it Souls-like. That makes it the clearest match in this shortlist for readers specifically seeking a game Steam classifies that way. The available listing evidence here does not establish enough about its setting or combat details to make a more specific claim about its dark-fantasy premise or mechanics. Confirm the date and description on Steam’s upcoming releases page before release.

Ember and Blade
Steam status: listed for Q4 2026. Genre evidence: Steam describes it as a survivors-like adventure featuring Souls-like bosses, so it is dark-fantasy and Soulslike-adjacent rather than a straightforward Soulslike. The Steam page also lists controller support. LINE Games’ April 11, 2025 announcement described the title as a premium survivor/Soulslike game set in a dark-fantasy world and initially targeted 2026; the newer Steam listing gives the Q4 window. See the Steam page and LINE Games announcement.

Other candidates to check
These titles surfaced as possibilities, but the available evidence is not strong enough to present them as confirmed dark-fantasy Soulslikes with dependable release details.
Lords of the Fallen II
Steam status: shown as Coming soon in the Soulslike search results, with no release date in the evidence available here. The result alone does not provide enough detail to assess its current setting or confirm how closely its gameplay matches a Soulslike. Check the live Steam search and listing for an updated status and official description.
Soulframe
Steam status: shown as Coming soon in the Soulslike search results, without a date. Its appearance in that search does not establish that dark fantasy is a core part of its setting or that it fits a strict Soulslike definition. Verify its current Steam page before adding it to a narrower genre watchlist: Steam Soulslike search.

Queen’s Domain
Steam status: not independently verified here. A September 30, 2026 GamesRadar report describes it as an indie take on King’s Field and reports an October 30, 2026 release. That makes it a genre-adjacent prospect, not proof of a conventional Soulslike: inspiration from King’s Field does not establish identical combat or structure. Confirm the game’s Steam listing and release date before treating it as an upcoming Steam pick.
Phantom Blade Zero
Steam status: a Steam Soulslike search result listed October 28, 2026. That search result does not establish the game’s dark-fantasy setting or prove a strict Soulslike classification. Check its live Steam page for the current date and official description rather than relying on the search result alone: Steam Soulslike search.

Mortal Shell II
Steam listed Mortal Shell II as released on August 20, 2026, so it was no longer upcoming as of October 4. Its Steam page identifies it as an action RPG and gives it Souls-like and Dark Fantasy tags, making it a relevant released alternative rather than a future pick. Steam names Cold Symmetry as developer and Playstack as publisher. See the Mortal Shell II Steam page.

Dimraeth
A Steam Soulslike search result surfaced a September 2026 date. That date had passed by October 4, so it should not be listed as upcoming without evidence that its release status or date changed. Check the current Steam search result before treating it as unreleased.

How to choose what to wishlist
- Want the strongest Soulslike signal? Start with Valor Mortis, which Steam tags Souls-like.
- Open to a different combat format? Consider Ember and Blade for its survivors-like structure and Souls-like bosses.
- Prefer only firm dates? Treat listed dates as changeable store information, not guarantees; check the Steam page close to launch.
- Interested in genre neighbors? Investigate Queen’s Domain or the other Coming soon candidates, but confirm their current Steam pages and decide whether their official descriptions match what you want.
For any pick, compare the current release status, the game’s own combat description, and whether dark fantasy is an explicit part of its setting rather than an assumption drawn from a tag or influence. The available candidates do not substantiate a full set of 10 qualifying unreleased games.
