As of October 3, 2026, the five phones on this October watchlist range from Apple’s officially announced iPhone Duo to Android launches whose dates and specifications are still based on reporting. The key distinction is where and when each model is expected to arrive: an announced date in one country does not establish availability elsewhere.
At a glance: October 2026 phone launches
| Phone | What is known as of October 3 | Market and timing | Price status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple iPhone Duo | Officially announced foldable iPhone; 5.4-inch outer display and 7.6-inch inner display | Preorders begin October 16; availability begins October 23 in more than 70 countries and regions, then October 30 in 28 additional countries and regions | Official U.S. starting price: $1,999 for 256GB |
| OnePlus 16 | Reported launch; detailed specifications remain unconfirmed by an official source in the cited coverage | China launch reported for October 12; international timing uncertain | No confirmed price established here |
| Oppo Find X10 | Reports describe a China debut in September and later availability plans | Late-October global or India availability is suggested by reports, not confirmed by Oppo in the sources cited | No confirmed price established here |
| Vivo X Fold 6 | Reported foldable; India timing and regional specifications are unconfirmed | Early-October or October 6 India launch reported; Smartprix said on October 1 that vivo had not confirmed an India launch | No confirmed price established here |
| Vivo V80 | Smartprix reports an official India launch confirmation; it also describes company-revealed specifications | October 6 India launch reported; still upcoming on October 3 | Do not treat leaked pricing as official |
The Apple rollout and specifications in the table come from Apple’s September 9 announcement. The Android dates and descriptions reflect the reporting of Memeburn, Gizmochina and Smartprix; they should not be read as equivalent to manufacturer announcements.
1. Apple iPhone Duo: the only fully announced launch here
Apple announced iPhone Duo on September 9, 2026, calling it its first foldable iPhone. The device has a 5.4-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner display, and Apple says it is powered by A20 Pro. Its official U.S. starting price is $1,999 for 256GB; that figure is specific to the U.S. and does not establish prices in other markets.
Availability and features
Apple says preorders begin October 16. Availability is scheduled to begin October 23 in more than 70 countries and regions, followed by 28 additional countries and regions on October 30. These are future dates as of October 3, not completed launches.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Apple describes Split View multitasking, a two-battery design and an eSIM-only configuration worldwide. Those are manufacturer descriptions, not independent test findings. Apple’s stated video playback estimates are up to 31 hours using the inner display, up to 44 hours using the outer display, or up to 24 hours when both displays are used equally.
Apple CEO John Ternus called it “the most transformational change to iPhone since the original” in the company’s announcement. For a buyer considering a foldable, the practical appeal is the choice between a compact outer screen and a larger inner screen; the trade-off is the substantial U.S. launch price and the need to check local availability and eSIM compatibility.

2. OnePlus 16: a China date is reported, not confirmed here
October launch coverage places the OnePlus 16’s China launch on October 12. That date is reported rather than supported by an official OnePlus announcement among the cited sources, and an international arrival is described as later or uncertain.
Gizmochina reports claims including a 185Hz display and a high-end chipset; its notably large battery figure is described as leaked. Treat these as tips, not settled specifications. If you are considering waiting, the main reason to watch is the possibility of a new high-performance OnePlus flagship, but there is not enough confirmed information here to assess its final hardware, price or availability outside China.

3. Oppo Find X10: separate the China debut from global availability
Roundups report that the Find X10 family debuted in China in September and suggest late-October global or India availability. The cited material does not establish an official Oppo date for either market, so the suggested October timing should not be treated as a confirmed international launch.
Coverage points to high-resolution cameras and large batteries, but precise specifications and their regional variants are not established by a primary Oppo announcement in the sources cited. A China-market model’s specifications, price or configuration should not be assumed to carry over to a later international version.

4. Vivo X Fold 6: an India launch remains uncertain
The X Fold 6 is described in launch coverage as a foldable with large inner and cover displays, with an early-October or October 6 India launch suggested. Smartprix’s October 1 update said vivo had not confirmed an India launch for this model. Its reported date and specifications therefore remain unconfirmed.
Do not assume that specifications, configurations or pricing reported for China will apply to an India or other regional version unless vivo confirms that market’s product details. For a buyer specifically seeking a foldable, this is a watchlist candidate rather than a phone with a dependable local purchase date.

5. Vivo V80: reported October 6 India launch
Smartprix reports that vivo officially confirmed an October 6 launch for the V80 in India. That date was still ahead as of October 3. Smartprix describes a 6.59-inch display, 7,200mAh battery and 90W charging among the company-revealed specifications; Gizmochina also lists October 6 and similar headline figures. These details should be understood in the context of the India-focused reporting, not generalized to every market.
Leaked pricing is not an official price. Buyers outside India should wait for confirmation of their own market’s launch, configuration and price rather than relying on converted estimates.
Which launch is actually worth waiting for?
- Want the clearest buying plan? The iPhone Duo has the strongest evidence: Apple has announced its U.S. price, preorder date and staged availability dates across countries and regions.
- Need a phone before mid-October? None of these future dates guarantees immediate local stock. Check retailers and carriers in your country rather than delaying a necessary replacement for a reported date.
- Considering an Android flagship? Treat the OnePlus and Oppo timing and specifications as provisional, especially if you need a confirmed international launch.
- Shopping for a foldable in India? The iPhone Duo has Apple’s stated rollout schedule; the Vivo X Fold 6 India launch is explicitly unconfirmed in the cited October 1 update. The V80 is a conventional phone, not the foldable option in this list.
- Comparing prices? Only the iPhone Duo’s U.S. price is officially established here. Do not compare it with reported or converted Android estimates as if those were confirmed local prices.
This is a launch watchlist, not a hands-on comparison: no performance, camera or battery testing is established for these five models here. Dates that have passed should be checked against a newer manufacturer or retailer announcement before making a purchase decision.
