To spawn an item in Unturned, enable cheats, open chat with Enter, and run /give [Item ID]. The command is normally used in single-player or on a cheats-enabled map. Dedicated servers add two requirements—server-side cheats and administrator permission—and may accept the older @give player/id/amount format instead. Item IDs are tied to the game version, map and installed workshop content, so verify an ID in the running game before depending on it.

The exact command parser can differ between a current game build, a dedicated-server configuration and an older guide. If a command does nothing, first confirm that cheats and administrator rights are active, then try the syntax documented for the version running on that map.

Single-player or an offline map
- Open the map-selection screen.
- Tick Allow Cheatcodes before loading the map.
- Enter the map and press Enter to open the in-game chat and command box.
- Type a command such as
/give 17, then submit it.
Cheat permission is selected per map launch. If the checkbox was not enabled before loading, the command may be ignored even when the syntax is correct. Return to the map-selection screen, enable Allow Cheatcodes, and load the map again.
Dedicated or friend-hosted servers
A server must have cheats enabled in its configuration, and the person entering the command needs administrator rights. Server guides commonly point administrators to the server’s command configuration, including a Commands.dat file, but the exact file and setting depend on how the server is hosted. Enable the server-side cheat option, grant the intended player administrator permission, restart or reload the server if that configuration requires it, and test with a harmless item.

Allowing cheats on a shared server changes what players can create and can undermine a survival save. Limit administrator access to trusted players, and keep a backup before changing a long-running world.
How to use the /give command
Basic item spawn
- Confirm that Allow Cheatcodes was enabled when the map loaded, or that the server has cheats enabled and you are an administrator.
- Press Enter while playing.
- Type
/give, a space, and the numeric item ID:/give 17. - Submit the command and inspect your inventory for the item.
The command is commonly shown as /give [Item ID], with the brackets meaning “replace this placeholder”; do not type the square brackets themselves. Some third-party command references also describe accepting an item name or asset filename and an optional amount that defaults to one. Because that behavior is not consistent across every guide or build, treat the numeric-ID form as the dependable baseline and test name or amount arguments on the actual server before using them in a script.

When the running build supports an amount argument, append the quantity after the ID, for example /give 6 3 for three copies of the item associated with ID 6. If the game returns an error or gives only one item, remove the amount and repeat the command, or use the server’s documented quantity syntax. Do not assume that a quantity accepted by an older server plug-in is part of the current single-player parser.
Using names or asset filenames
Some guides say that an item name or asset filename can be used in place of the number. Names must match the asset’s spelling and punctuation exactly, and workshop assets may expose a filename rather than the name shown in the inventory. Numeric IDs are easier to audit and share, but they still need to be checked against the map and game version.
Choosing the right item ID list
An “Unturned item ID list” is not universal. Before copying an ID, check three pieces of context:

- Game version: one large catalog was built from game files for version 3.26.3.12 and lists 1,159 items plus 63 vehicles. A separate Steam Community guide is labeled for version 3.13.8.0, which is older and should not be treated as a current reference.
- Map: official-map IDs and custom-map IDs can occupy different ranges. An ID that works on a base map may silently fail on a workshop map.
- Content source: workshop and modded assets have IDs assigned by that map or mod. Installing or removing a mod can therefore change which list is valid.
One public list is marked as updated in May 2026, although its exact update day is not stated. Use a dated list as a starting point, not proof that every entry matches your current installation. The safest practice is to spawn one copy, read the displayed item name, and record the confirmed ID for your own map and version.

Examples from a versioned catalog

The 1911 example demonstrates why a number copied from a search result is not automatically trustworthy. If /give 97 produces a different asset or nothing at all, the list is mismatched with your build or map; find a version-appropriate entry and test it.
Map-specific ID ranges
Custom maps often reserve their own numeric ranges. These examples show why selecting a list by map matters:

These ranges are identifying clues, not guarantees that every asset on the map falls inside one continuous block. Always verify the spawned display name. If a base-game ID appears to work on a custom map, confirm that it produced the intended asset rather than a coincidentally matching number.
Dedicated-server syntax: /give versus @give
Server documentation is inconsistent about the command prefix. Current-style instructions commonly show /give, while older server guides show an at-sign command:

@give player/id/amountOne published example is:
@give Knifedera/254/15That example is intended to give player Knifedera fifteen copies of item ID 254. It is a syntax example, not confirmation that ID 254 has the same meaning on your map. Substitute the exact in-game player name, the ID confirmed for your map, and the desired amount.
What to do when one prefix fails
- Check whether you are typing in the player’s chat, the server console, or a host panel. A command accepted by the console may not be accepted in player chat.
- Try the prefix documented for your server’s game version:
/giveor@give. - Confirm the player name and separators. The older form uses slashes between player, ID and amount.
- Verify that the account has administrator rights and that server cheats are enabled.
- Restart the server after changing configuration if the host does not apply command settings live.
A LAN-server player reported that spawning failed even with cheats set; a community response suggested entering the command in the server terminal instead. This is a troubleshooting lead rather than a universal rule: use the terminal only if you control the server and follow its hosting panel’s command format.
Spawning vehicles and animals
Vehicles
Use /vehicle [VEHICLE ID] with the ID from a vehicle list that matches the map and version. The vehicle appears in front of your character and is not added to the inventory. The command has a one-vehicle limit: remove or otherwise deal with the existing spawned vehicle before creating another.
Animals
Use /animal [ANIMAL ID]. Animals also appear in front of the character rather than inside an inventory slot. Keep clear space in front of you so the spawn is not obstructed by terrain, buildings or another entity. If nothing appears, check the animal ID against the map-specific list and confirm that cheats are active.
Why an item command can appear to do nothing
Cheats were not enabled at map load
The most common failure is loading the map without ticking Allow Cheatcodes. Leave the map, enable the checkbox, and load it again. On a server, the equivalent is server configuration plus administrator permission; enabling only one of those is insufficient.

The list is for another version
An old list can point to an ID that was reassigned, removed or added after an update. Check the list’s stated version. The 3.13.8.0 guide, for example, predates the 3.26.3.12 catalog and should be treated as historical reference.
The list is for another map
Elver, Arid and Rio de Janeiro demonstrate separate ID ranges. Switch to the catalog made for the map currently loaded. Workshop maps can also assign IDs outside the base game’s familiar range.

Press Enter in the game for the normal chat command. A dedicated server may require its console or terminal, especially when a LAN host does not process the command from a player’s chat window.
The syntax or placeholder was copied literally
Use /give 17, not /give [Item ID]. For the older server form, preserve the slash separators: @give PlayerName/17/1. If the parser does not accept an amount, omit it and issue the basic command.
A mod or workshop asset is missing
Modded IDs are assigned per map. Ensure every required workshop dependency is installed and loaded on both the server and client. A number from a mod list cannot create an asset that is not present in the current installation.
The number produced the wrong item
Stop using that number until you identify the mismatch. Compare the list’s map and version, then spawn a single copy and read the displayed name. Record confirmed IDs in a small map/version note so future commands do not rely on an unverified search result.

A reliable workflow for building your own item list
- Identify the environment. Write down the game version, map name, whether the map is official or workshop-made, and the server’s command style.
- Choose a matching catalog. Prefer a list that states its version and map. Treat an undated or older list as provisional.
- Test a low-impact entry. Enable cheats and run one item command. Avoid testing by spawning rare quest objects or large quantities.
- Check the inventory label. Confirm that the displayed name, icon and category match the intended asset.
- Record the result. Keep the ID beside the map and version, not as a universal number.
- Scale up carefully. On a server, test one item and one quantity before giving items to multiple players. Review the save or backup if a mod update changes asset assignments.
Practical command examples
These examples illustrate command shapes; the ID must still be valid for the loaded map and game version.
/give 17— basic single-player-style command using the Military Drum example from the 3.26.3.12 catalog./give 6— basic command using the Military Magazine example from that same catalog./vehicle [VEHICLE ID]— replace the placeholder with a confirmed vehicle ID; the result appears in front of you./animal [ANIMAL ID]— replace the placeholder with a confirmed animal ID.@give Knifedera/254/15— older server-style example showing player, ID and quantity separated by slashes; verify all three values for your server.
Limits of published ID lists
Available lists are community-maintained rather than official game documentation. Their update dates, extraction methods and map coverage differ. No published statistic establishes a universal count of all Unturned IDs, and there is no developer quotation defining one permanent command syntax in the material available for this guide. That is why a list’s version label and an in-game verification step matter more than a number copied without context.
For workshop content, one community explanation suggests using numbers above 2000 to reduce overlap with official assets. That suggestion is not a guaranteed allocation rule: the map or mod author controls the actual ID, so use the asset’s own documentation and verify it in the running game.
