UNKAPPED says it plans to take 100 Indian enterprises through an AI-readiness audit by March 2027, then put AI into production at at least 25 of them by December 2027. Those are future company targets announced in a press release, not achieved or independently verified results. The announcement describes an enterprise-services business built around engineers working inside client teams; it does not introduce a consumer or physical product.
What UNKAPPED announced for India
UNKAPPED Inc. describes itself as an applied AI and go-to-market engineering firm headquartered in San Francisco, founded by Indian entrepreneurs and launching in India. The company says its engineers will work within client teams and systems to identify suitable tasks, connect data, build agents or automations, and support deployment and measurement.

The launch release sets out three milestones:
| Announced milestone | Target date | What the release says |
|---|---|---|
| AI-readiness audits | March 2027 | 100 Indian enterprises |
| AI in production | December 2027 | At least 25 of those enterprises, each with a measured result |
| Forward-deployed engineers | End of 2028 | 100 India-based engineers developed through training on live enterprise work |
These are forward-looking commitments in the announcement. It does not publish a delivery schedule, the criteria for counting an audit or a production deployment, or evidence that any target has been met.
What an AI-readiness audit means here
The release says each engagement begins with an AI-readiness audit, but it does not define a standard method or specify its deliverables, length, cost, or eligibility rules. The phrase therefore describes UNKAPPED’s proposed first step, not a clearly documented or independently validated audit standard.
#1 Best Overall
For an enterprise evaluating such an engagement, useful details to request include which workflows and data sources are assessed, how access and permissions are handled, what risks or constraints are recorded, and what written recommendations the audit produces. The announcement does not answer those buyer questions.
What forward-deployed engineers would do
In the model described by UNKAPPED, engineers work within a client’s environment rather than stopping at a high-level AI plan. The release describes work that can include:
Rank #2
- Connecting relevant data and addressing access and permission requirements.
- Integrating AI agents with existing systems and workflows.
- Building and testing agents or automations for business tasks.
- Adding evaluation, human oversight, and governance to the implementation.
- Taking systems into production and measuring results.
The announcement gives no customer examples or independent operating evidence demonstrating how this work has performed. Its description should be read as the company’s proposed delivery model.

Forward-deployed engineering
Embedded engineers are described as working across data connections, permissions, integration, and production deployment.
Applied AI
The release names possible agent use cases in customer service, collections, document processing, sales, and operations. It says the approach includes testing, evaluation, human oversight, and governance, without publishing specific controls or implementation examples.
Go-to-market engineering
For sales and revenue operations, the company describes using buyer signals, account scoring, and routing to focus effort on accounts it considers ready to buy. The announcement does not report measured results for this work.
What the cited readiness statistics establish—and what they do not
To frame the opportunity, the release attributes three figures to a Dun & Bradstreet survey: every organisation surveyed had an AI project underway; 44% were still planning or piloting; and 4% said their data was fully ready to scale AI. The announcement describes the survey year only as “this year,” in a 2026 release.
It does not name the survey, provide its sample or field dates, or link to the original report. These figures are therefore claims as described in the launch release; they cannot be treated here as independently checked findings or as representative of all Indian enterprises.

What Indian enterprises should clarify before engaging
The release points to potential implementation complexity, including data spread across legacy enterprise resource planning systems, regional systems, and spreadsheets; customer interactions across languages and channels such as WhatsApp, voice, and email; and data use affected by India’s Digital Personal Data Protection rules. It offers no implementation examples or legal analysis, so these points are context rather than a complete account of enterprise conditions or legal guidance.
Before commissioning an audit or implementation, a buyer can ask for specifics that the announcement leaves open:
- Audit scope: which workflows, systems, and data will be covered, and what deliverables will be provided?
- Security and governance: how will access, permissions, privacy, human review, and oversight be managed?
- Evaluation: how will the system be tested, and what reliability threshold is required before production use?
- Outcomes: which business measure will be tracked, and how will a result be attributed to the AI implementation?
- Commercial terms: what are the price, timeline, and post-launch support arrangements?
The launch announcement does not supply those terms. UNKAPPED says enterprises can apply at unkapped.ai or email [email protected]; these contact details are stated in the release and have not been independently checked here.
How to read the targets
The announcement makes the scale of UNKAPPED’s India ambition clear: 100 audits by March 2027, production AI at a minimum of 25 of those enterprises by December 2027, and 100 India-based forward-deployed engineers by the end of 2028. It does not provide target methodology, customer references, or independent verification. The milestones are best understood as commitments to track over time, not proof of current delivery capacity or outcomes.
