Travel-industry reports describe it as similar to Flighty, whose joking response helped draw attention to the feature. United has not published a feature guide in the sources available, so details such as the exact app menu path and who can access it remain unconfirmed.

Coverage published October 2, 2026, by One Mile at a Time and InsideFlyer describes My Flight Journey as a personalized look back at a traveler’s United flights. The reported display includes:

The feature is described as covering roughly the past couple of years. That is the scope reported by those outlets, not a published United promise about how long flight records will remain available.

The resemblance is in the idea of turning flight history into a personal travel record. The available reports say United’s feature shows travel totals and aircraft details, while InsideFlyer notes that it does not include cumulative delay metrics. That is a reported feature comparison, not a hands-on evaluation of either app.

The apps also differ in their connection to an airline: United’s feature concerns the user’s United flying, while Flighty is an independent flight-tracking app. The reports do not establish a like-for-like comparison of their history periods, access requirements or supported platforms.
Where to find it—and what is not confirmed
InsideFlyer reported that My Flight Journey was available in United’s iOS app at launch. That report does not establish current availability across platforms or accounts. Neither outlet provides a confirmed navigation path, such as a specific menu or tab, and the available reporting does not establish eligibility rules, account requirements or a rollout schedule. Check the United app for the feature rather than relying on an unverified set of tap-by-tap instructions.

Why Flighty noticed
One Mile at a Time reported that Flighty posted on October 1, 2026: “Looks familiar. Maybe the android version 👀” The outlet also recalled a prior comment it attributed to United CEO Scott Kirby: “We should just go buy Flighty, we’ll keep running it as Flighty”. The original post and interview were not independently verified here, so both quotations should be understood as reported by One Mile at a Time—not as evidence that United acquired Flighty.
