The UNISOC T7250 looks stronger overall on paper, with a newer mix of Cortex-A75 and Cortex-A55 CPU cores, higher listed memory speed, and support for UFS storage. Third-party comparison figures also report higher benchmark scores for it. The Helio G36 has a higher listed peak CPU clock and supports FHD+ displays up to 90 Hz, while the T7250 lists 120 Hz at HD+ or 60 Hz at FHD+. Neither chipset’s specifications or published scores guarantee how a particular phone will perform.
Specifications at a glance
| Specification | MediaTek Helio G36 | UNISOC T7250 | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Process | 12 nm FinFET | 12 nm | The listed process node is the same; it does not by itself establish speed or battery life. |
| CPU | Eight Cortex-A53 cores, up to 2.2 GHz | 2× Cortex-A75 up to 1.8 GHz + 6× Cortex-A55 up to 1.6 GHz | The T7250 has a newer core mix; the G36 has the higher listed maximum clock. GHz alone is not a cross-chip performance measure. |
| GPU | IMG PowerVR GE8320, up to 680 MHz | Arm Mali-G57, up to 850 MHz | These are different GPU designs and clocks; the available evidence does not provide a controlled graphics benchmark. |
| Memory | LPDDR4X up to 1600 MHz; up to 8 GB listed | LPDDR4X up to 1866 MHz; dual-channel support listed | The T7250 supports a higher stated memory frequency. Actual capacity and implementation depend on the phone. |
| Storage | eMMC 5.1 | eMMC 5.1 or UFS 2.2/2.1 | UFS is a potential advantage only in a T7250 phone that actually includes it. |
| Display support | Up to 2400×1080, 90 Hz | FHD+ at 60 Hz or HD+ at 120 Hz | Check the handset’s panel resolution and refresh rate; T7250’s listed 120 Hz mode is HD+, not FHD+. |
| Camera and video limits | Up to 50 MP; listed encode/decode up to 1080p at 30 fps | Up to 108 MP; listed encode/decode up to 1080p at 60 fps | These are platform ceilings, not guarantees of image quality or a phone’s recording modes. |
| Cellular | 4G LTE Cat-7 downlink / Cat-13 uplink listed | 4G LTE Cat-7 downlink / Cat-13 uplink listed | Both are 4G platforms. Supported bands and carrier compatibility are handset-specific. |
| Wireless | Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 | 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2 | The listed standards do not alone determine real-world wireless performance. |

Which chipset is faster?
The T7250’s Cortex-A75 performance cores and Cortex-A55 efficiency cores give it a more capable-looking CPU configuration than the G36’s eight Cortex-A53 cores. The G36’s maximum listed frequency is higher, at 2.2 GHz versus the T7250’s 1.8 GHz on its A75 cores, but clock speed cannot be compared in isolation across different CPU designs.

| Benchmark shown by GadgetVersus | UNISOC T7250 | MediaTek Helio G36 |
|---|---|---|
| AnTuTu | 264,588 | 139,896 |
| Android PassMark CPU Mark | 2,940 | 1,344 |
These are reported comparison values, not results from a documented matched test using identical phones, firmware, cooling, memory, and benchmark builds. GadgetVersus says results are averages and may vary. Treat them as directional evidence favoring the T7250, not as a promise that every T7250 phone will score higher by the same margin. See the GadgetVersus comparison.
Benchmark versions matter too. NanoReview lists an AnTuTu 11 result of 193,858 for the Helio G36, alongside user-submitted results and phone samples. That score uses a different AnTuTu version from the GadgetVersus figure, so it should not be combined with it as if the tests were directly comparable. NanoReview identifies the TCL 505, Infinix Smart 8 Pro, Tecno Spark 20C, Xiaomi Poco C61, Redmi A3, and Redmi A2 among G36 phones; individual-device results vary. See NanoReview’s Helio G36 page.

Which is better for gaming?
The T7250 is the more promising choice based on its newer CPU cores and Mali-G57 GPU, but the available specifications do not establish a controlled gaming-performance comparison. The GPU names and peak clocks are not enough to predict frame rates: the phone’s cooling, power limits, software, resolution, and game settings also matter.

Display, storage, and camera differences
Refresh rate depends on resolution
The G36 lists support for up to 2400×1080 resolution at 90 Hz. UNISOC lists FHD+ at 60 Hz or HD+ at 120 Hz for the T7250. These are supported modes, not proof that every phone using either chip has a high-refresh-rate panel.
UFS support is optional in T7250 phones
The G36 lists eMMC 5.1 storage. The T7250 can be paired with eMMC 5.1 or UFS 2.2/2.1, but the chipset’s support does not mean a particular phone includes UFS. Confirm the storage type for the exact model and configuration, since it can affect app installs, file transfers, and loading.

Camera limits do not predict photo quality
The listed ceilings are up to 50 MP and 1080p at 30 fps for the G36, versus up to 108 MP and 1080p at 60 fps for the T7250. A phone’s sensor, lenses, image processing, and software determine whether those capabilities are used and how its photos and videos look.
