If you need to remove several Windows programs, Bulk Crap Uninstaller (BCUninstaller) lets you select them in one list and run their uninstallers as a batch. It is free open-source software for Windows that also handles many Store apps, Steam installations and Windows Features, while looking for leftover files and orphaned entries.
Why bulk removal is useful
Windows Settings and Control Panel are designed primarily for removing one application at a time. That becomes tedious after a clean reinstall, when decommissioning a shared PC or when removing a collection of old games and utilities. Each program may open its own confirmation dialog, and installer technology varies between applications.

The project describes BCUninstaller as a “free (as in speech) program uninstaller.” Its official README lists compatibility with several kinds of Windows software and installer systems:
- Traditional desktop applications.
- Windows Store Apps.
- Steam-installed software and games.
- Windows Features.
- Programs using NSIS, InnoSetup or Msiexec uninstall systems.
It can clean leftovers and detect orphaned applications. Those functions are best treated as a review aid: the project does not promise that every file, registry entry or service will be found or removed in every installation.
How to uninstall several programs at once
1. Install or launch the appropriate build
Download a current v6 build from the project’s official GitHub releases page. Choose the distribution that matches your machine and your preference for installation:

For current v6 releases, the stated Windows baseline is Windows 10. The project’s older v5 branch targets Windows 7 SP1 or later and uses .NET 6, so check the branch and requirements for the version you actually download rather than mixing v5 and v6 assumptions.

When BCUninstaller opens, let it finish building its inventory. Read names carefully and distinguish the program you intend to remove from similarly named components, shared runtimes, drivers or Windows entries. If the computer contains important work, create a backup or restore point before a large batch operation.

3. Select the targets
Use the list’s selection controls to mark the applications you want removed. A batch can contain ordinary desktop programs and, where detected, Store apps, Steam software or Windows Features. Do not select an item merely because its name is unfamiliar; verify its publisher, install location or other identifying details first.
4. Start the batch uninstall
Choose the uninstall command for the selected entries. BCUninstaller launches the relevant uninstall systems, including supported NSIS, InnoSetup and Msiexec uninstallers. Some uninstallers will still ask individual questions, require a restart or display their own error messages. Follow those prompts instead of assuming that a single confirmation covers every program.
5. Inspect leftovers and orphaned entries
After the uninstallers finish, use BCUninstaller’s leftover and orphan-detection features to review what remains. Treat proposed files, registry data and services as candidates for inspection. Remove only items you can associate confidently with the software you just removed, and leave shared or uncertain components in place.
Safety checks before confirming a batch
- Verify the complete selection: one mistaken check mark can remove a program you still need.
- Keep recovery options: back up important data and consider a restore point before changing many applications.
- Close running programs: open files and active services can prevent a clean uninstall.
- Expect different behavior: a batch may include installers with different prompts, restart requirements or failure messages.
- Review, do not blindly purge: leftover detection is useful, but it is not a guarantee that every suggested item belongs exclusively to the removed program.
Portable versus installed BCUninstaller
The portable package is the straightforward choice for a technician’s toolkit or a computer where you do not want to install another application; its current v6 package includes the runtime it needs. Setup integrates as a conventional installation and can install .NET 8 Desktop Runtime when required. The smaller net package saves download space only when the needed .NET runtime is already present.

Portability does not change the basic responsibility to verify selections or review cleanup suggestions. It changes how the program is deployed and where its runtime comes from.
Cost, license and maintenance
BCUninstaller is licensed under the Apache 2.0 open-source license. The project states that it may be used privately or commercially for free, provided the license conditions are followed. That statement applies to the project under that license; bundled dependencies can have their own notices and terms.
The official releases page shows continuing v6 activity, including a Custom Notes feature and fixes such as improved handling of Windows error codes. That indicates an actively maintained project, but it does not establish a guaranteed release schedule or promise that every future Windows update will behave identically.

When BCUninstaller is the right tool
It is most useful when you have many unrelated applications to remove, a mixture of installer types, or a list that includes Store and Steam software alongside conventional desktop programs. For one simple uninstall, Windows’ built-in Settings page may be quicker. For a large cleanup, BCUninstaller’s inventory, multi-selection and post-uninstall review put the work in one place while leaving final decisions to you.
