The report lists launch prices of £24.99 / $29.99 for PS5 and £29.99 / $34.99 for Switch in the territories it covered. PS5 version: the reasons to choose it
One digital purchase covers PS4 and PS5
The PlayStation Store listing says a digital purchase entitles you to both the PS4 and PS5 versions. That is useful if your household has both generations of PlayStation hardware or if you may move from PS4 to PS5 later. You are buying within the PlayStation ecosystem rather than purchasing a separate PS4 and PS5 entitlement.

The listing distinguishes a digital purchase from a disc-based PS4 upgrade. If you own the PS4 disc and download or play the PS5 digital version through that entitlement, you must keep the PS4 disc inserted when using the PS5 version. The disc entitlement does not work on a PS5 Digital Edition, which has no disc drive. In practical terms, a PS4 disc is not a way to unlock the PS5 version on a disc-free console.

This caveat does not remove the value of the digital cross-generation entitlement; it tells you which kind of ownership you have. Before purchasing, identify whether you are buying digitally, using a PS4 disc, or using a PS5 disc. The store’s own entitlement language should govern your transaction.

Check the listing on your regional eShop before downloading rather than assuming every territory shows exactly the same information.
