Neither is a universal performance winner: the PC figures available are Naughty Dog’s published targets, not a matched-hardware comparison with PS5.
What you get on either platform
Both editions include the same two single-player games: Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, which follows Nathan Drake and his long-lost brother Sam, and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, starring Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross. The collection does not include the original games’ multiplayer modes. PlayStation described the PS5 release as remastered and the PC release as optimized for PC.

How the PS5 modes differ
Naughty Dog’s published PS5 mode descriptions give you three straightforward targets. Pick according to whether you value image resolution or smoother motion, and note the display requirement for the highest frame-rate option.

PlayStation also highlighted near-instant loading, Spatial 3D Audio, and DualSense haptics and adaptive triggers on PS5. These are platform features rather than a reason to assume the game looks or runs better than it does on every PC.

What the PC targets say about your hardware
Naughty Dog published these PC targets on September 28, 2022. They are developer performance goals, not independent tests of current hardware or a guarantee for every system. The 1440p and 4K tiers are useful reference points if those are your intended resolutions.

Use the tier closest to your display goal as a starting point, then compare your actual CPU, GPU, memory, and storage with its listed components. If you want 1440p or 4K at the stated 60 fps goals, the Performance and Ultra rows set substantially higher hardware expectations than the 1080p Recommended row. A PC that falls short may still run the game, but these figures do not establish what performance it will deliver.

PC flexibility and controls
The PC edition offers adjustable texture and model quality, anisotropic filtering, shadows, reflections, and ambient occlusion, along with ultrawide monitor support and FSR 2. It supports keyboard and mouse, multiple gamepad types, and control remapping. Other PC-specific options include GPU and VRAM detection, audio compatibility settings, auto-pause, variable load-speed options, and a PC-oriented interface.

DualSense haptics and adaptive triggers are supported on PC when the controller is connected by wire. If those effects matter to you on PC, plan to play wired; the support information specifies a wired connection.

Choose by display, hardware, and preferred input

Before deciding, check three things: the display you will use, whether your PC is close to the target tier for your preferred resolution and frame rate, and whether you prefer mouse and keyboard or a controller. The official figures establish available targets and features, but do not show that PC universally outperforms PS5 in image quality or performance.

PlayStation’s launch-era upgrade guidance allowed owners of eligible PS4 copies to upgrade for a fee. For a disc copy, the PS4 disc had to be inserted to download or play the PS5 digital upgrade, so that route did not work on a disc-free PS5. The stated terms also excluded PlayStation Plus users who had claimed Uncharted 4 through that subscription. These are historical launch terms, not confirmation of current eligibility; check the regional PlayStation Store before purchasing or upgrading.
