Ultrahuman offers AFib Detection as an optional PowerPlug for its Ring AIR, but its official product pages describe nighttime monitoring—not a scan that users can start whenever they want. Availability and pricing depend on location, and the feature should not be treated as a diagnosis or a substitute for medical care.
What Ultrahuman’s AFib Detection feature does
AFib Detection is an optional software feature, or PowerPlug, associated with the Ultrahuman Ring AIR. The ring is the wearable; the PowerPlug is not a separate scanning device. Ultrahuman describes the feature as discreet monitoring of heart rhythm at night for signs associated with atrial fibrillation (AFib). Its published descriptions do not establish a user-initiated, on-demand scan workflow. Ultrahuman’s PowerPlugs page uses nighttime-monitoring language.

Ultrahuman presents AFib Detection as a separately selected purchase alongside Ring AIR, rather than as a universal, included ring function. Its official pages show different purchase formats in different markets, so no single listed price should be assumed to apply everywhere or remain current. Check the PowerPlug’s availability, terms and price in the Ultrahuman app or the product page for your location before buying. The Ring AIR purchase flow shows the PowerPlug as an optional selection.

What the published performance figures mean
Ultrahuman’s science page reports results from a multicentre validation of FibriCheck technology against 12-lead ECG. The 2025 study it describes included 236 participants and 2,195 ECG-paired readings. FibriCheck reported catching 99.0% of AFib readings, correctly clearing 98.7% of readings without AFib, and 98.8% overall accuracy. These are results for FibriCheck recordings and its algorithm—not accuracy figures from tests of the Ultrahuman Ring AIR. Ultrahuman’s science page identifies the study as “FibriCheck detection capabilities for atrial fibrillation (FDA-AF): a multicenter validation study,” published in npj Digital Medicine 8:704 on 20 November 2025.

The study population also matters: it involved cardiology patients, among whom AFib is more common than in the general population. Ultrahuman cautions that everyday use may therefore produce more false alarms than the reported study figures suggest. Those percentages should not be read as a guarantee of real-world performance for Ring AIR users.
How to interpret a notification
AFib is a heart-rhythm condition that requires appropriate clinical evaluation. A notification from a consumer wearable is not, by itself, a confirmed diagnosis. Ultrahuman states in its terms: “The Ultrahuman Ring is not a medical device.” The company also says its products and services do not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. If you have symptoms or receive a concerning result, contact a qualified healthcare professional rather than relying on the ring to determine what is happening.

- Your location: Confirm that AFib Detection is offered in your region and review the regulatory disclosures presented in the app.
- The current offer: Check the price and billing period shown for your account; official purchase options can vary by market.
- The feature’s role: Treat it as nighttime monitoring, not a verified on-demand scan or a replacement for clinical testing.
- The evidence: Distinguish FibriCheck’s validation results from performance measurements of the Ring AIR itself.
