UGREEN Revodok Maxidok 17-in-1 Review: Is the Feature Set Worth the Price?

The UGREEN Revodok Maxidok 17-in-1 is a premium Thunderbolt 5 dock for a specific kind of setup: a compatible laptop or desktop that can use its high-bandwidth ports, multiple displays, up to 140W charging, and internal NVMe storage. Its 17-port layout and SSD slot make it more capable than a basic dock, but the headline features depend on the host, cables, and connected devices. It is not automatically the best-value choice for an older computer that cannot use much of that capability.

What you get

UGREEN’s US product listing describes a 17-port Thunderbolt 5 dock supplied with a 240W power adapter. The connection mix is intended to cover desk peripherals, displays, wired networking, memory cards, audio, and internal storage without relying on a stack of adapters. The advertised Thunderbolt 5 transfer rate is up to 120Gbps; actual performance depends on the host and connected devices.

USB-A Three ports, 10Gbps
USB-C Three ports, 10Gbps
Video DisplayPort; one 8K display at 60Hz or two 6K displays at 60Hz, subject to host support
Ethernet 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet

UGREEN’s full port and performance specifications are on its US Revodok Maxidok product page. The chassis puts frequently used connections on the front and the more permanent desk connections at the rear, according to AppleInsider’s review. A power button and covered underside SSD compartment round out the desktop-oriented design.

Display support depends on the computer

The dock’s advertised ceiling is one 8K display at 60Hz or two 6K displays at 60Hz, but those figures are not a guarantee for every laptop. The host’s graphics hardware, operating system, available video paths, and connection arrangement determine what resolution, refresh rate, and number of extended displays actually work. AppleInsider notes that triple extended displays require a Thunderbolt 5 host. UGREEN’s series FAQ also warns that some USB4 laptops may not support dual displays.

Anker USB C Hub, 5-in-1 USBC to HDMI Splitter with 4K Display | 85W Max PD, 1 Powered USB-C 5Gbps & 2 Powered USB-A 3.0 5Gbps Data Ports, for MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Dell and More (Black)
  • 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
  • Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
  • Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
  • HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
  • What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.

Before buying, check the exact computer model’s external-display specifications and UGREEN’s Thunderbolt 5 series FAQ. Do not infer support from a USB-C-shaped port alone: the connector shape does not establish the host protocol or display capability.

Compatibility: Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3, USB4, and USB

AppleInsider’s specification table lists Thunderbolt 5, Thunderbolt 4, USB4, and USB 3.x compatibility, while its discussion emphasizes that a connected host operates at its own supported limits. That means connecting an older host does not turn it into a Thunderbolt 5 system; available bandwidth and features can be reduced. Compatibility is also not universal across every implementation. UGREEN’s EU series FAQ says Windows Thunderbolt 3 laptops are not compatible, and the series FAQ cautions about dual displays on some USB4 laptops. Verify the exact computer and regional support information rather than treating a broad protocol label as a promise.

140W charging is conditional

UGREEN advertises host charging up to 140W when the laptop and charging path support USB Power Delivery 3.1. The included 240W adapter is the dock’s power supply; it does not mean every connected laptop receives 140W. In AppleInsider reviewer Mike Wuerthele’s test with a 16-inch M5 Max MacBook Pro, the supplied cable initially delivered 100W. He reached 140W after switching to a known EPR-compatible cable. That is a reported result from his setup, not a universal guarantee. If 140W is important, confirm the laptop’s PD 3.1 support and the cable’s EPR capability.

The M.2 slot can replace a separate external SSD

The covered underside compartment accepts an M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen4 x4 drive, with UGREEN listing support up to 8TB. That gives a desktop setup a way to add fast storage inside the dock rather than occupying another external port. Check the drive’s physical fit and compatibility before purchasing; the stated capacity and interface describe the dock’s supported drive class, not a particular SSD’s performance.

  • Power Delivery Compatible: Compatible with USB-C Power Delivery to provide high-speed pass-through charging up to 85W. Please note: 100W PD wall charger and USB-C to C cable required.
  • Compatibility: Supports USB-C, USB4, and Thunderbolt connections. Compatible with Windows 10 and 11, ChromeOS, and laptops equipped with DP Alt Mode and Power Delivery. Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.

Wuerthele reports testing Samsung 990 Evo Plus and Samsung SSD 9100 Pro 1TB drives, and about 5.3GB/s in a Mac Studio setup. Treat that speed as a reviewer-reported result from one configuration, not an expected rate for every drive, host, or workload.

Is the price-to-features balance good?

The answer depends on whether the system will use the features that make this dock unusual. Its Thunderbolt 5 bandwidth, display potential, 2.5GbE, broad port selection, 140W conditional charging, and built-in NVMe slot can consolidate a demanding workstation setup. If the host is older and needs only a few peripherals and one or two ordinary displays, much of the premium capability may go unused; AppleInsider observes that some older Macs may be adequately served by less expensive Thunderbolt 4 or Thunderbolt 3 docks.

Prices in the available listings are snapshots, not a reliable statement of today’s checkout price. UGREEN’s US page showed $499.99 and a time-limited 26% discount when indexed in 2026. AppleInsider’s September 23, 2026 review cited a $499.99 MSRP and lower observed snapshots around $390 and $349.99 in separate passages. Check the live listing before deciding. The review’s favorable value assessment at about $350 was conditional on making use of the Thunderbolt 5 bandwidth and feature set, not a market-wide finding that this is objectively the best dock.

Who should buy it?

  • Good fit: A Thunderbolt 5 workstation owner who needs a large mix of desk connections, high-bandwidth expansion, and internal NVMe storage.
  • Potential fit: A Thunderbolt 4 or USB4 owner whose exact host supports the needed displays and who values the dock’s other ports, while accepting host-limited performance.
  • Probably excessive: Someone with an older system, modest peripheral needs, or no use for the M.2 slot, high-wattage charging, or Thunderbolt 5 bandwidth.

For a within-brand comparison, UGREEN’s 10-in-1 Thunderbolt 5 dock has fewer ports, 100W host power, 1GbE, and no M.2 slot, according to the company’s comparison information. Choose by the ports and capabilities the computer can actually use, not by the port count alone.
