UGREEN Nexode Pro 160W vs. Anker Prime 160W (150W Mode): Which USB-C Charger Should You Buy?

Choose the UGREEN Nexode Pro 160W 4-Port if you need four charging connections and up to 140W from either of its two primary USB-C ports. Choose the Anker Prime Charger (160W, 3 Ports, Smart Display), model A2687, if three USB-C ports are sufficient and you need its supported 150W single-port mode or the Anker Prime Power Bank charging feature. Neither is a universal winner: your devices, cable requirements and simultaneous-charging plan matter more than the headline number.

One naming correction prevents a common buying mistake. Anker’s official product is rated at 160W total; “150W” describes a supported single-port output mode and a specific Prime Power Bank recharge use case. UGREEN’s cited product is the Nexode Pro 160W 4-Port GaN Charger. UGREEN also sells a separate 160W retractable-cable version with a different port layout, so its specifications must not be mixed with the four-port model.

Correct the wattage labels before comparing

UGREEN’s 160W is a total-output ceiling

UGREEN states that the four-port Nexode Pro can deliver 160W in total. Its highest cited output from one port is 140W, available from USB-C1 or USB-C2. The 160W figure therefore describes the charger’s combined capacity, not 160W from every connector or necessarily from one connector.

  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Think of the rating as a shared budget. If one computer negotiates 140W, only about 20W of the advertised total remains for other devices at that moment, subject to the charger’s own allocation rules. If the computer needs 65W instead, considerably more capacity remains for a phone, tablet or accessory. The exact split depends on which ports are occupied, so check the current product table for the combination you plan to use.

Anker’s product is 160W, with a 150W mode

Anker’s A2687 specification lists “Total Wattage 160W” and includes “150W Max” among its single-port output options. Calling it the “Anker Prime 150W charger” is shorthand that obscures the official name and total rating. A connected device must support the relevant charging mode, and the charger’s allocation logic still applies when other ports are in use.

The 10W difference between the highest cited UGREEN single-port figure and Anker’s supported 150W mode is small in practical terms. It matters only when the device, cable and charging protocol can all use that extra headroom. A laptop limited to 100W will not charge faster simply because the adapter is labeled 150W.

Why a laptop may draw less than either headline

A charger advertises what it can provide; the device negotiates what it is designed to accept. Laptop input limits, phone charging controllers, cable ratings and the selected protocol can all reduce the negotiated wattage. A 140W or 150W-capable port is useful headroom, but it does not force a compatible device to consume that amount.

Operating conditions also change demand. A laptop may request more power while rendering or compiling than while asleep, and a phone may taper its rate as its battery fills. Those normal behaviors should not be interpreted as a failure to meet the charger’s label.

Port layout is the first practical decision

UGREEN: four-port convenience on the cited model

The UGREEN listing used for this comparison identifies a four-port charger. That extra connection can matter if you routinely charge a laptop, phone, tablet and accessory at the same time. The listing’s headline figures identify USB-C1 and USB-C2 as the ports capable of up to 140W; check the current regional listing for the exact labeling and allocation before purchase.

Four ports can also reduce swapping during a workday: a high-power laptop can stay attached while a phone, tablet and headphones remain connected. This convenience is valuable only if the port mix matches your cables. Confirm whether your regional version provides the connectors you actually use rather than assuming every 160W Nexode Pro has the same arrangement.

Anker: three USB-C ports

The A2687 has three USB-C ports. It is a cleaner fit for a USB-C-only desk or travel kit, but it gives you one fewer simultaneous connection than the cited UGREEN four-port model. There is no USB-A port listed for A2687, so an older USB-A cable requires an adapter or a different charger.

Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
  • What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.

Three ports may still be the better layout for a focused kit: laptop, phone and tablet can all charge directly, with no unused fourth connector taking space. Count your normal simultaneous devices rather than selecting by port count alone.

Do not import the retractable UGREEN layout

UGREEN’s Nexode Pro name covers more than one 160W product. A hands-on review examined the separate retractable-cable version, not the four-port listing used in the main comparison. That review describes three USB-C charging connections, including the built-in cable, plus one USB-A port. Those ports are not evidence that the four-port model has the same arrangement.

When shopping, read the complete product name and inspect photos for the exact SKU. A listing that says “retractable cable” is a different purchase from the four-port model, even though both use the Nexode Pro 160W branding.

Output distribution when several devices are connected

Total wattage is only useful if the allocation matches your workload. Before buying, list the devices you expect to connect at the same time and their maximum input ratings. A 16-inch laptop that can use around 100W, for example, leaves less of a 160W budget for other devices than a small notebook that accepts 65W. The manufacturers’ headline totals do not by themselves reveal every multi-port split for every connection combination.

Use the highest-power device as the starting point, then see how many lower-power devices remain. Also consider what happens when you plug in a new device: some multi-port chargers renegotiate existing connections, which can briefly interrupt charging. The product pages here do not provide a complete measured map of every renegotiation or sustained split, so plan around the published port capabilities and your devices’ limits.

When the UGREEN four-port model makes sense

  • You need four charging connections rather than three.
  • Your main computer can use up to 140W through USB-C1 or USB-C2, and your secondary devices can share the remaining capacity.
  • You prefer to keep phones, tablets and accessories connected without a separate low-power hub.
  • Your cables and devices fit the exact connector arrangement shown for the regional four-port listing.

When the Anker three-port model makes sense

  • Your setup is entirely USB-C and three ports cover the devices you charge together.
  • You specifically need the supported 150W single-port mode for a compatible high-power device.
  • You use the Anker Prime Power Bank and want its qualifying 150W recharge mode.
  • You prefer Anker’s smart-display and app-oriented feature set described for this model.

Because no controlled multi-device test is available for these exact models, treat both manufacturers’ allocation figures as design specifications rather than a promise of a particular sustained split under every workload.

Charging protocols and why they matter

UGREEN’s family-level compatibility statement

UGREEN says the Nexode Pro family supports USB Power Delivery (PD), Quick Charge (QC), SCP, AFC and PPS, and advertises compatibility with 45W Samsung Super Fast Charging 2.0. This is a family-level statement. It indicates the protocols the range is designed to cover, but it does not prove that every device reaches its maximum rate on every Nexode Pro model or port.

Anker A2687’s listed protocols

Anker lists PD 3.1, PPS 2.0, QC, SCP, UFCS and Anker Protocol for A2687. PD 3.1 is relevant to newer high-power USB-C devices, while PPS can let compatible phones adjust voltage more precisely. Anker Protocol is particularly important for the company’s own Prime Power Bank feature described below.

Protocol names are not interchangeable with wattage. A phone may support PPS but not the voltage range required for its fastest proprietary mode; another device may use USB PD but be capped by its own charging controller. Check the device manufacturer’s stated requirements and select the port and cable that satisfy them.

Cables are part of the charging system

A cable can be the limiting component even when the charger and device support a high rate. Use a cable rated for the power and protocol you intend to negotiate, and check the device maker’s requirements. Do not assume that a cable bundled with another charger supports 140W or 150W simply because it has USB-C plugs.

For high-power laptops, inspect the cable’s marked rating and length, and replace damaged or unmarked cables. If a device falls back to a lower rate, test with a known compatible cable before concluding that the charger is underperforming.

Anker’s 150W Prime Power Bank use case

Anker states that up to 150W recharging is available for a compatible Anker Prime Power Bank in AI Mode 2.0 when the specified cable is used. This is a conditional accessory feature, not a general 150W guarantee for every USB-C device.

  1. Confirm that your power bank is a compatible Prime Power Bank model.
  2. Enable or select AI Mode 2.0 as required by the power bank and charger instructions.
  3. Use the included cable or another cable that Anker identifies as compatible with the 150W mode.
  4. Remember that Anker says the required high-speed cable is not included with the charger.

If you do not own that power bank, this feature should not decide the purchase. For ordinary laptops, phones and tablets, compare their own input limits and the available ports instead. Verify cable compatibility and program support at the time of purchase, since accessory bundles can differ by region.

What the retractable-cable UGREEN review does—and does not—tell you

Android Central senior editor Harish Jonnalagadda reported using the retractable-cable Nexode Pro 160W for three months. His account describes a built-in screen, a retractable cable extending to 70 cm and foldable pins. He reports that the USB-C1 and retractable ports reach 140W, USB-C2 reaches 100W, and one cited distribution is 65W + 65W + 30W.

Those observations are useful if you are considering that retractable variant, especially if an integrated cable would reduce what you carry. They are not a performance test against Anker and should not be transferred to the separate four-port UGREEN listing. The retractable model’s three-USB-C-plus-USB-A arrangement is a different purchasing decision from the four-port product named in this comparison.

The review’s three-month usage is a single reviewer’s experience, not a long-term failure-rate study. It can illustrate convenience features such as the screen, cable reach and foldable pins, but it cannot establish that either UGREEN version is cooler, safer or more durable than A2687.

Size, travel and desk placement

Anker publishes dimensions of 65 × 52 × 35 mm and a weight of 220 g for A2687. The cited UGREEN four-port listing does not provide directly comparable dimensions or weight in the available specifications, so a size or portability winner cannot be established from these figures.

For travel, check the plug format supplied for your country and whether the charger’s pins fold. For a permanent desk setup, count the cable length and outlet position as well as the charger body. A built-in cable, where present on the retractable UGREEN variant, changes convenience but also makes that variant unsuitable if you specifically need the four-port layout.

Do not infer thermal behavior from dimensions or GaN branding. Neither the official specifications nor the hands-on account establish a controlled temperature comparison, sustained efficiency result or safety ranking. Leave ventilation around either charger and follow the manufacturer’s operating guidance.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Value, price and ownership considerations

Both chargers target the premium, high-output segment, but a reliable price winner cannot be named here. Retail prices, promotions, inventory and regional bundles change over time. Compare the exact SKU at checkout, including whether a high-power cable is bundled and whether the plug matches your country.

Anker’s required cable for the Prime Power Bank 150W workflow is a potential additional cost because Anker says it is not included with A2687. UGREEN’s value may instead come from the fourth connection if it lets you avoid buying a separate low-power charger or hub. Those are workload-dependent savings, not universal price advantages.

Which charger should you buy?

Pick the UGREEN Nexode Pro 160W 4-Port when port count comes first

Select the exact four-port model if your routine involves four simultaneous USB-C or mixed-device connections and you want up to 140W available from either USB-C1 or USB-C2. Verify the current product page, country version, plug type and port labels before ordering; UGREEN’s 160W name is used across different configurations.

Pick Anker Prime A2687 when its specific features fit your setup

Select A2687 if three USB-C ports are enough, you value its smart-display design, or you need the qualifying Anker Prime Power Bank recharge mode. Its official total is 160W, while 150W is a supported single-port setting under the stated conditions. Budget for a compatible cable if you plan to use the power-bank feature.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Do not choose by wattage alone

The difference between 140W and 150W is less important than whether your laptop accepts either rate, whether you need a fourth port and whether your cables support the required protocol. A lower negotiated rate on a real device is normal and does not mean the charger is defective.

A buying checklist

  1. Identify the exact SKU. Confirm “Nexode Pro 160W 4-Port” rather than the retractable-cable version, or confirm A2687 rather than a different Anker Prime charger.
  2. Count simultaneous connections. Choose four-port UGREEN if three USB-C ports would leave one device unplugged; choose Anker if three USB-C ports cover your kit.
  3. Check each device’s input limit. Record the maximum wattage for your laptop, phone, tablet and power bank.
  4. Match protocols. Look for PD, PPS or another protocol explicitly supported by the device, not just a high charger wattage.
  5. Verify cables. Use cables rated for the intended power, and obtain the compatible cable required for Anker’s Prime Power Bank 150W mode.
  6. Confirm regional details. Check plug format, exact port labeling, dimensions, included accessories and current availability for your country.
  7. Review the price at checkout. Promotions and stock change, and no comparable current price was established for these two models.
  8. Plan for renegotiation. If connecting a second device could interrupt a laptop’s session, save work and observe how your equipment behaves before relying on the setup.

What is not established by the available evidence

  • No controlled head-to-head measurement establishes a winner for temperature, efficiency, charging time or sustained output.
  • The official specifications do not establish comparative reliability, safety ranking or long-term failure rates.
  • The retractable-cable UGREEN review is hands-on context for that separate variant, not a laboratory comparison with Anker or proof of the four-port model’s behavior.
  • Retail prices, promotions and inventory vary by date and region; verify them immediately before purchase.
  • No complete port-by-port allocation table for every possible multi-device combination is established for both chargers.

For most buyers, the decision is straightforward once the variants are separated: choose the four-port UGREEN for connection flexibility and up to 140W on its two leading USB-C ports; choose Anker A2687 for a three-port USB-C setup, its supported 150W mode or the qualifying Prime Power Bank workflow. If none of those distinctions matches your actual devices, neither headline wattage justifies paying more.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Anker Prime charger 150W or 160W?

The official A2687 product is a 160W-total charger. It supports up to 150W from one port under specified conditions, so 150W is a mode, not the total product rating or official name.

Does the UGREEN Nexode Pro 160W deliver 160W from one port?

For the cited four-port model, UGREEN lists 160W total and up to 140W from USB-C1 or USB-C2. The total rating is shared across the charger.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Which charger has more ports?

The cited UGREEN Nexode Pro 160W 4-Port has four ports. Anker A2687 has three USB-C ports and no USB-A port listed.

Can either charger fast-charge every laptop at its maximum rate?

No. The laptop’s input limit, charging protocol, cable rating and the charger’s current port allocation determine the negotiated rate.

Is the UGREEN retractable-cable model the same as the four-port model?

No. The retractable-cable version has a different configuration, including a built-in cable and a USB-A connection. Confirm the exact model listing before buying.

What do I need for Anker Prime Power Bank 150W recharging?

You need a compatible Anker Prime Power Bank, AI Mode 2.0 and the included or otherwise compatible high-speed cable. Anker says that cable is not included with the A2687 charger.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Which charger is cooler or faster in real use?

There is no controlled head-to-head measurement here that establishes a temperature, sustained-output or charging-time winner.

Should I buy based on the current sale price?

Check the exact regional listing and price at checkout. Promotions, stock, included accessories and cable bundles can change.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: Buy the UGREEN Nexode Pro 160W 4-Port for four connections and up to 140W from either primary USB-C port. Buy Anker Prime A2687 for three USB-C ports, its supported 150W single-port mode, smart-display features or the qualifying Prime Power Bank workflow. Confirm the exact SKU, protocols, cables, regional plug and current price before ordering.
