If you want a four-bay NAS with two built-in 10GbE ports, the UGREEN NASync DXP4800 GT is the closest match established here. Synology’s DS1525+ and DS1825+ offer five and eight bays, respectively, but ship with dual 2.5GbE and need optional hardware for faster Ethernet. A like-for-like QNAP comparison cannot be made responsibly without verified specifications for a specific current QNAP model.
How the DXP4800 GT compares with the Synology options
These models serve different needs rather than representing equivalent four-bay alternatives. The GT prioritizes dual 10GbE in a four-bay chassis; Synology’s two models provide more drive bays and a separate path to faster networking.

| UGREEN NASync DXP4800 GT | 4 SATA bays, according to TechRadar’s June 8, 2026 review | Two 10GbE ports, according to the same review | Dual 10GbE is built in; client and network equipment must also support the intended link. | TechRadar reports an AMD Ryzen Embedded R2514, 8GB DDR4, two M.2 slots, and UGOS Pro. |
| Synology DiskStation DS1525+ | 5 bays, according to Synology | Two 2.5GbE ports, according to Synology | Synology specifies the optional E10G22-T1-Mini for 10GbE. | Synology’s 2025 announcement gives SSD-based performance figures; see the notes below. |
| Synology DiskStation DS1825+ | 8 bays, according to Synology | Two 2.5GbE ports, according to Synology | Supported PCIe network cards provide an upgrade path, including 10GbE and a 25GbE option listed by Synology. | Synology publishes performance figures for this model; see the notes below. |
Specifications and upgrade paths above are attributed to TechRadar’s review for the GT and Synology’s product information and announcements for its models. They do not establish which NAS will be faster for your workload.
Is the DXP4800 GT the same as the DXP4800 Plus?
No. The names are similar, but the network ports and reported components differ. UGREEN’s official DXP4800 Plus listing specifies four SATA bays, a Pentium Gold 8505, 8GB DDR5, a 128GB SSD, two M.2 slots, one 10GbE port, and one 2.5GbE port. Those are Plus specifications, not GT specifications. TechRadar’s June 2026 review is the source for the GT details in the table.

Do you need dual 10GbE out of the box?
Choose based on the whole network path, not just the NAS port label. A 10GbE-capable NAS port does not make a 2.5GbE client or intervening network equipment run at 10GbE. Check the client adapter, switches or other network equipment in the path, and the intended connection before paying for faster NAS networking.
- Consider the GT if four bays are enough and you specifically want two built-in 10GbE ports.
- Consider the DS1525+ if five bays suit your storage needs and you are comfortable adding its specified 10GbE module separately.
- Consider the DS1825+ if eight bays and a PCIe-based networking upgrade path are more relevant than having dual 10GbE built in.
The port specifications alone do not predict real transfer rates. TechRadar reports that its DXP4800 GT review initially tested over a 2.5GbE network, while Synology’s published speed figures are vendor results under manufacturer test conditions—not directly comparable cross-device benchmarks.

What do Synology’s published speed figures mean?
Synology’s 2025 DS1525+ announcement reports up to 1,181 MB/s read and 1,180 MB/s write using SSDs. Synology’s DS1825+ product specification reports up to 2,239 MB/s read and 1,573 MB/s write. These are manufacturer claims, not independent measurements or a controlled comparison with the DXP4800 GT. Treat them as model-specific published results, not as a promise of the speed your files will transfer.

Drives and usable capacity
The NAS chassis is only part of the storage setup. TechRadar’s GT review configuration used four 4TB Seagate IronWolf hard drives and two 1TB SSDs. That describes the reviewer’s installed drives; it is not a required configuration or a universal recommendation. Choose drive capacity for your needs and check the current compatibility information for the model you plan to buy.

Networking accessories and total cost
For a Synology upgrade, include the applicable network module or supported PCIe card in your comparison, along with any client-side or network-equipment changes your setup requires. Add the cost of the drives you need as well. Current prices and accessory availability vary by region and over time, so compare live listings rather than assuming the NAS price covers a populated system or network upgrade.
Software and workload fit
Before choosing, list the work the NAS must do—such as file storage, backups, or collaboration—and confirm that its software supports your requirements. The specifications established here do not provide a like-for-like software feature comparison, so they are not enough to declare one platform better for every workload.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can you make a fair QNAP comparison?
Not from the verified model specifications available for this comparison: no specific QNAP device has been established with enough official detail to compare its bays, built-in Ethernet, optional upgrades, and expansion path against these alternatives. That means there is no evidence-based three-brand winner here. To compare a QNAP model, first verify its current official specifications for those points, then compare it with the same storage and network requirements used above.
Quick Recap
Which one should you choose?
- Pick the DXP4800 GT as the closest fit when your target is four bays plus dual built-in 10GbE.
- Look at the DS1525+ when five bays matter more than having 10GbE onboard and its separate upgrade route works for you.
- Look at the DS1825+ when you need eight bays or value its supported PCIe networking options, including the listed 25GbE option.
- Keep QNAP in consideration only after selecting a specific model and checking its official bay and network specifications against the same requirements.
