Most WONDERBOOM 4 connection and sound problems can be isolated without an app: verify charge and a dry USB-C port, put the speaker into Bluetooth pairing mode, choose WONDERBOOM 4 in the phone or computer’s Bluetooth menu, then check the selected audio output. If it is connected but silent, remove competing nearby connections, reduce distance and wireless interference, power-cycle the speaker, and leave Double Up mode if it is active. A factory reset is the final software step before contacting support.
Start with the safe, fast checks
Work through these checks in order. They separate a flat battery, an unsuccessful pairing attempt, an incorrect audio route and a stale wireless session before you erase the speaker’s settings.

- Check power. Turn the speaker on. Press + and – together to check the battery indication. If it will not start, inspect the USB-C port and cable for dirt, moisture or damage before charging.
- Check Bluetooth on the source. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on the phone, tablet or computer you are testing. Keep the source close to the speaker for the first connection.
- Check the selected output. A device can show a Bluetooth connection while continuing to send sound to its built-in speaker, headphones or another Bluetooth product. Open the operating system’s audio-output control and explicitly choose WONDERBOOM 4.
- Reduce radio congestion. Move both devices away from other wireless equipment and test at short range. Interference and distance can make a saved connection appear unreliable.
- Temporarily remove other contenders. Turn Bluetooth off on nearby phones, tablets and computers while testing. The speaker can remember up to eight devices and can connect to two mobile devices at the same time, so another device may take the active connection.
If these checks do not produce a stable connection, use the clean pairing procedure below. Do not repeatedly press random buttons; the Bluetooth indicator and the confirmation tone tell you which state the speaker is in.

Put the speaker into pairing mode
Turn WONDERBOOM 4 on, then press and hold its Bluetooth button. Release it when the speaker plays the pairing tone and the Bluetooth indicator begins blinking rapidly. That blinking state means it is advertising itself for a new connection; a simple tap is not the same as entering pairing mode.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Select it in the source device
- Open the phone, tablet or computer’s Bluetooth settings.
- Wait for the device list to refresh, then select WONDERBOOM 4 exactly as displayed.
- Wait for the voice confirmation that the connection succeeded.
- Play a short local audio file and confirm that the output selector still names WONDERBOOM 4.
If the name does not appear, leave the Bluetooth settings page open, keep the source close, and repeat the long press until the rapid blinking and tone occur. If the name appears but selection fails, turn Bluetooth off and on at the source and try again after disabling Bluetooth on nearby devices.
Reconnect a device that was already paired
For a source used previously, turn the speaker on and select WONDERBOOM 4 again in that source’s Bluetooth settings. The speaker stores the last eight devices, but being stored does not guarantee that the source will reconnect automatically. Selecting it explicitly also prevents a different remembered device from becoming active.
When it says connected but there is no sound
Confirm the audio route
“Connected” describes the Bluetooth link, not necessarily the output route for media. Open the source’s quick settings, volume panel or sound settings and choose WONDERBOOM 4 as the active media output. On a computer, check both the system output device and the individual application’s output; a browser, meeting app or media player can retain a different destination.

Clear range and interference variables
Place the source within a short, unobstructed distance of the speaker. Keep both away from other wireless sources while testing. If sound returns at close range, the original symptom was consistent with range or interference rather than a failed audio driver.
Refresh the session
Power the speaker off and on, then select WONDERBOOM 4 again in the source’s Bluetooth list. This power cycle clears a stale session without deleting every remembered device. If another nearby device reconnects during the test, disable its Bluetooth first and repeat the selection.
Check whether Double Up is routing the sound elsewhere
When two compatible speakers are joined in Double Up, audio may be playing through the paired set rather than the single unit you are holding. Leave Double Up before diagnosing one speaker; the exact procedure is in the Double Up section below.

Stop another phone or computer taking the connection
WONDERBOOM 4 can remember up to eight devices and supports simultaneous connections from two mobile devices. That convenience can make troubleshooting confusing: a family member’s phone, an old tablet or a nearby computer may connect first or remain one of the active mobile links.

- Turn Bluetooth off on every nearby device except the one being tested. If you cannot reach a device, move it out of range temporarily.
- Turn the speaker off and back on.
- Open Bluetooth settings on the intended source and select WONDERBOOM 4 explicitly.
- Play audio, then re-enable other devices one at a time to identify which one was competing for the connection.
Once you identify the competing source, disconnect it or remove WONDERBOOM 4 from that source’s saved Bluetooth devices when you do not want it to reconnect. You do not need to reset the speaker merely because it remembers older devices.
Battery, charging and USB-C checks
Interpret the battery ranges
The manufacturer’s 2026 FAQ groups the battery indication into these ranges:
| Indication | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 36%–100% | Normal battery | Pair and test normally. |
| 10%–35% | Low battery | Charge before lengthy playback or further diagnosis. |
| Below 10% | Critical battery | Connect a suitable USB-C power source before troubleshooting Bluetooth. |
These percentages are the Logitech/Ultimate Ears classifications stated in the 2026 FAQ; they are not an independent battery-capacity measurement. Press + and – together to check the speaker’s current indication rather than guessing from the last time it was charged.

Use the right charging arrangement
WONDERBOOM 4 charges through USB-C. The product does not include a charger or power adapter. Logitech recommends an adapter rated at least 5 W for the fastest charging under suitable conditions and estimates about 2.5 hours to reach 100%. The estimate depends on using a suitable power source and a sound connection; it is not a promise for every adapter, cable or battery condition.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
- Use a clean, dry USB-C cable and a compatible USB power adapter.
- Inspect the port, plug and cable for debris, moisture, bent parts or fraying.
- Do not force a plug into a dirty or obstructed port.
- If charging appears intermittent, try a known-good cable and adapter after the connector has been inspected and dried.
A speaker that is too depleted to stay powered can appear to have a Bluetooth fault. Charge it first, then turn it on and repeat pairing. If it still shuts down, will not charge with a clean, dry setup or shows physical connector damage, stop using that port and move to support rather than repeatedly inserting cables.
Factory-reset WONDERBOOM 4
Reset only after checking output selection, competing devices, range, interference, power and Double Up. A reset is useful for a corrupted or stale pairing state, but the manufacturer’s instructions do not claim it will repair every hardware fault.
- Turn the speaker on.
- Simultaneously press and hold the volume – button and the power button for 5–10 seconds.
- Release both buttons when the reset completes.
- On the phone or computer, return to Bluetooth settings and select WONDERBOOM 4 using the normal pairing procedure: hold the Bluetooth button until the tone and rapidly blinking indicator, then select the speaker.
After a reset, treat the speaker as a fresh Bluetooth device. Keep other nearby sources’ Bluetooth disabled until the new pairing is confirmed. If the source still shows an old saved entry that will not connect, remove or forget that entry on the source and run pairing again.

- To leave Double Up, press the Bluetooth button on either speaker.
Once the pair is separated, select the individual WONDERBOOM 4 in the source’s output controls and play a test file. Rejoin the speakers only after the single-speaker connection works, so you can distinguish a pairing problem from a Double Up routing problem.
Water exposure and connector safety
WONDERBOOM 4 is rated IP67. The manufacturer says it has been tested to withstand submersion up to 1 metre for up to 30 minutes. That rating does not make it safe to charge while wet or guarantee that every charging connector remains clean after pool or ocean use.
- After pool or ocean use, rinse the speaker, USB-C port and charging ring with clean water as directed by the FAQ.
- Dry the speaker and connector areas completely before connecting a cable.
- Never charge while the port, cable or connectors are wet, dirty or damaged.
- If a liquid warning, corrosion, visible damage or persistent charging failure remains, stop charging and seek service.
A wet or contaminated port can explain both failure to charge and apparent audio trouble caused by an unexpectedly depleted battery. Resolve the physical safety issue before repeating wireless tests.
Does WONDERBOOM 4 need an app?
No. The manufacturer’s FAQ states that WONDERBOOM 4 does not need or have an app. Pairing, output selection, reconnection and the reset procedure are performed with the source device’s operating-system Bluetooth controls and the speaker’s physical buttons. Do not install an unrelated app or treat the absence of an app as evidence that the speaker is malfunctioning.
When the problem is probably not a Bluetooth setting
Escalate to Logitech support or warranty service when the speaker remains unusable after a charged, dry USB-C setup, a close-range pairing attempt with competing devices disabled, an output check, a power cycle and the specified reset. Also escalate when the speaker has a damaged connector, will not remain powered, will not charge with a known-good arrangement or produces no sound from more than one correctly connected source.
Have the following information ready:
- The exact model name: WONDERBOOM 4.
- Whether the Bluetooth indicator enters rapid-blink pairing mode and whether a voice confirmation occurs.
- The source type and operating system, without assuming that every platform exposes identical Bluetooth labels.
- The battery indication and whether charging was attempted with a clean, dry USB-C connection and an adapter of at least 5 W.
- Whether the issue occurs at close range, with other Bluetooth devices disabled, and after the 5–10-second volume-minus-plus-power reset.
- Any water exposure, visible port damage or abnormal power behavior.
The published procedures are manufacturer guidance, not a guarantee that each step fixes every hardware failure. Support or warranty assessment is the appropriate next step when the same symptom survives those controlled checks.
