To sell to retailers on Udaan, open Udaan’s official vendor sign-up route, create a business account, provide the requested business and tax information, and complete verification. Udaan may approve, suspend, or reject an account after reviewing the details, so approval is not guaranteed until the platform confirms it.
What Udaan seller registration does
Udaan is a business-to-business marketplace where approved suppliers can present products to retailer buyers. Registration creates the business account needed to offer products through the platform; it is not the same as registering as a retailer or completing a government MSME registration.

Udaan’s seller page describes the process as: “Start to sell on Udaan in a matter of a few clicks.” The practical work is in preparing accurate business information, meeting category requirements, and completing any additional checks requested during onboarding.

Before you register: decide whether your business is ready
Confirm that you can legally sell your products
Udaan’s Terms of Use place responsibility on the user to obtain the licences and permissions required to resell, trade, distribute, or export products. Category-specific rules may apply to goods such as food, medicines, cosmetics, electrical products, or other regulated items. Registration does not replace those licences.
- Identify the legal entity or proprietor that will own the account.
- Check whether your products require sector, state, import, export, safety, or labelling permissions.
- Ensure the name, address, tax identifiers, and product information you submit refer to the same business.
- Keep readable copies of licences and registrations available if Udaan asks for additional verification.
Choose the geography and fulfilment model
Retailer demand, delivery coverage, taxes, and product permissions can vary by location. Decide which states or cities you can serve, where inventory will be stored, and whether you can meet the dispatch and packaging requirements associated with your category. Udaan’s public seller information describes partner logistics and shipment visibility, but availability is account- and policy-dependent.

Udaan’s Terms of Use state that registration may require the following information. The list is not necessarily exhaustive: Udaan can request additional details or documents during verification.

How to register as a Udaan seller

Open the official vendor sign-up route
Go to Udaan’s seller or vendor portal and select the sign-up option for users who do not already have an account. Use the current onboarding flow shown there; labels and page layouts may change.

Create the account with a monitored contact number
Enter the phone and contact details requested by the portal. Use a number controlled by the person responsible for orders, verification messages, and support. If the portal sends a one-time password or confirmation request, complete it in the same session.

Enter the business profile
Provide the business name, address, geographical location, and other profile fields exactly as they appear in your records. Inconsistent abbreviations, punctuation, or addresses can create avoidable verification questions.

Submit tax and identity information
Enter the GSTIN, PAN, TAN, Udyog Aadhaar, or other identifiers requested for your business. Review every digit before submission. A typo in a tax identifier can prevent a match or trigger a request for clarification.

Upload or provide requested evidence
If Udaan asks for an image of the place of business or another document, provide a legible, current file in the format and size accepted by the portal. Keep the original files and submission records in your business folder.

Review declarations and submit
Read the declarations about account use, product legality, and information accuracy. Submit only details you can substantiate. Udaan’s Terms of Use say it may request additional information or documents and may verify, approve, suspend, or reject an account at its discretion.

Monitor the account for the decision or follow-up
Check the registered phone, email, and vendor portal for status messages. Respond promptly if Udaan asks for clarification. Do not treat a completed form, a confirmation message, or temporary access as a promise that the account has been fully approved.

What happens during verification
Verification is the stage at which Udaan checks whether the submitted business information is usable for its marketplace and whether the seller meets applicable requirements. The public terms establish Udaan’s discretion to verify, approve, suspend, or reject accounts; they do not establish a universal approval time or success rate.

If Udaan requests more information
- Compare the request with your submitted profile and identify the exact mismatch.
- Send a clear response using the portal or support channel associated with the account.
- Use the same legal name and identifiers across replacement files.
- Do not create a second account simply because the first review is taking time, unless Udaan instructs you to do so.
- Keep a dated copy of each document and message you submit.
If the account is suspended or rejected
Read the notice for the stated reason and any correction or appeal path. Correct inaccurate information, renew an expired licence, or provide the missing evidence requested. Avoid submitting altered documents or opening duplicate accounts to bypass a decision; that can create further compliance problems. The published terms do not promise that every rejection can be reversed.
Setting up your seller operation after approval
Once Udaan confirms the account, the next task is to make the catalogue and commercial rules usable for retailers. Udaan says sellers can create catalogues for branded products or their own products, configure trade constructs, use partner logistics with shipment visibility, and receive settlements through nodal accounts. The availability and exact operation of these tools can vary by account and current policy.
Build a retailer-ready catalogue
- Use a product name that identifies the item, variant, pack size, and quantity.
- Provide accurate images, descriptions, specifications, and applicable compliance information.
- Separate variants instead of combining different pack sizes or grades in one confusing listing.
- Set inventory quantities you can actually dispatch.
- Review catalogue content whenever packaging, pricing, tax treatment, or availability changes.
For branded goods, ensure you are authorised to resell them and can provide evidence if requested. For your own products, make the manufacturer, packer, origin, and other mandatory declarations accurate for the market in which you sell.
Configure trade constructs
Udaan describes seller controls for trade constructs such as basket-size minimum order quantities, assortment, and payment terms. These settings determine the conditions under which a retailer can place an order.

The public seller information does not state one minimum order value, one commission schedule, or one payment-term structure for every seller. Confirm the values shown in your account before publishing offers or calculating margins.
Plan dispatch and logistics
If partner logistics are available for your account and route, review the pickup process, packaging standards, serviceable pin codes, shipment tracking, and exceptions before accepting significant volume. Shipment visibility can help you and the retailer identify whether an order is awaiting pickup, in transit, delayed, or delivered.

- Use labels and protective packaging appropriate to the product.
- Record the condition and quantity of goods before handover.
- Track exceptions and communicate promptly when an order cannot be fulfilled as listed.
Understand settlement before pricing
Udaan describes payment settlement through nodal accounts and faster settlement cycles where available. “Faster” is not a universal number in the published information, and settlement timing can depend on the account, order status, deductions, disputes, and current policy. Before setting a selling price, confirm the settlement schedule and any applicable charges or adjustments displayed in your seller account.

Udyam registration is separate from Udaan registration
The Government of India’s Udyam Registration portal describes MSME registration as “free, paperless and based on self-declaration.” It also states that documents or proof do not need to be uploaded and that PAN and GST-linked details are taken from government databases where applicable.
Udyam can support formalisation of an eligible micro, small, or medium enterprise, but it does not create a Udaan seller account. You must complete Udaan’s own vendor onboarding and verification even if your business already has Udyam registration. Conversely, Udaan’s seller registration does not by itself grant Udyam status or any government benefit.
Costs, approval time, and retailer volume: what is not publicly promised

For a commercial decision, ask Udaan for the current terms that apply to your category, location, fulfilment method, and account. Obtain the answer in the seller portal or from an authorised support channel before committing inventory or advertising spend.
Common registration problems and practical fixes
Tax details do not match
Check every character in the GSTIN, PAN, or other identifier and compare the legal name and address with the relevant government record. Correct the source record first if it is outdated, then resubmit the requested evidence.

The business address or location is questioned
Use the operating address requested by the form, including locality and postal details. If an image is requested, provide a clear current view of the place of business and ensure it corresponds to the address in the profile.
Your category needs a licence
Identify the applicable regulator and obtain the required permission before listing the product. Udaan’s terms make compliance the seller’s responsibility; an account approval is not a substitute for a product licence.
You cannot fulfil the minimum basket or assortment
Rework pack sizes, inventory levels, and assortment rules before accepting orders. A lower displayed quantity that you cannot reliably ship creates cancellations, disputes, and retailer dissatisfaction.
You are waiting without a clear status
Check the registered contact channels and portal notifications, then contact the support route provided in the account. Keep your submission details ready so you can answer a verification request without starting over.
Seller-readiness checklist
- Official Udaan vendor sign-up page identified.
- Business name, address, phone number, and geographical location verified.
- Applicable GSTIN, PAN, TAN, and other identifiers checked.
- Any Udyog Aadhaar record or equivalent business reference located.
- Current business-place image and supporting documents prepared.
- Category licences and resale permissions confirmed.
- Inventory, pack sizes, catalogue images, and descriptions ready.
- Minimum basket, assortment, and payment settings understood.
- Dispatch location, packaging, logistics coverage, and tracking process planned.
- Settlement conditions and possible deductions confirmed for the account.
How to evaluate Udaan against another B2B marketplace
If you are deciding whether Udaan fits your wholesale operation, compare platforms using the same questions rather than relying on a headline claim about retailer reach.
