Ubiquiti has announced a new UniFi Industrial DIN rail switch family and the U7 Industrial, its first industrial-grade UniFi access point. The switches are described as fanless and built for demanding installations, while the U7 Industrial has an IP67-rated enclosure and adjustable “wings” designed to shape its wireless coverage. Ubiquiti has not provided model-level switch specifications or independent performance results in the announcement.
What Ubiquiti announced
In its October 8, 2026 announcement, “Bringing the UniFi Industrial Family Together”, Ubiquiti introduced two product areas: an unnamed-model family of DIN rail industrial switches and the named U7 Industrial access point. The company says the products are managed through UniFi alongside its other networking and security products.

What is known about the industrial switches
Ubiquiti describes the new switches as fanless, with rugged extruded-aluminum enclosures and diecast metal backs. The announcement also identifies these design and configuration features:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors- Wide-temperature operation, without a stated temperature range.
- Multiple configurations, including optional PoE and 2.5 GbE support.
- Dual DC power inputs and an integrated alarm relay for external power-supply monitoring.
- DIN rail mounting from the left, right, or rear to accommodate cabinet layouts and cable routing.
The announcement does not identify individual switch models or specify port counts, PoE standards or budgets, uplink details, prices, or release availability. Those details are necessary to compare models or assess fit for a particular installation, so they should be confirmed against model-specific documentation when available.

What the U7 Industrial’s protective wings do
The U7 Industrial is described as an IP67-rated access point with a diecast metal enclosure. Ubiquiti says it ships with a high-gain directional antenna configuration and includes external omni antennas for broader, 360-degree coverage. It also supports custom third-party antennas, according to the announcement.
The “wings” are adjustable panels on an included RF isolator. Ubiquiti says the isolator is designed to shape the signal direction and reject neighboring signals, which may be useful in high-interference settings such as a pole carrying multiple access points. The company suggests opening the panels wider for broader coverage or angling them inward for enhanced range. These are design claims, not independently measured results; the announcement supplies no quantified interference reduction or range improvement.

- 8 PORT FULL GIGABIT POE SWITCH - Providing 8*10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet PoE ports and 2*1000Base-X SFP Ports. (Noted: Each PoE port can be used as an uplink port)
- 4 BT90W PORTS - The 1~4 ports complying with IEEE802.3af/at/bt POE++ standards, deliver up to 90W power per port, suitable for high-power POE devices, like POE monitor, POE lighting, PTZ camera, etc. The 5~8 ports support the IEEE802.3af/at POE+ standards, deliver up to 30W (PoE+) power per port. The total POE budget is 120W
- REDUNDANT POWER SUPPLY - Support 2 channel DC48-56V redundant power inputs. Supports 8-pin simultaneous power supply (1/2/4/5 positive, 3/6/7/8 negative) and POE Mode A/B output.
- 120W UL LISTED POWER ADAPTER - Default UL-certified 120W power adapter, optional Mean Well 240W Din rail Power Supply (ASIN: B015C9ITSS), the total PoE Budget of PoE Switch can be increased to 240W.
- GREAT COMPATIBILITY - Compliant with IEEE 802.3af/at/bt PoE Standards, works well with PoE / PoE+ / PoE++ / Non-PoE devices, like PTZ camera, IP cameras, PoE VoIP Phones, PoE Wireless APs, IoT devices, etc.
How to assess whether the U7 Industrial fits
Consider the access point’s intended coverage pattern and installation environment rather than treating the isolator as a guaranteed performance upgrade. Relevant factors include:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Coverage shape: A directional setup is suited to focusing coverage; the included omni antennas are the stated option for 360-degree coverage.
- Site conditions: Account for mounting position, nearby access points and other RF sources, and the physical layout of the area.
- Environmental protection: The product is described as IP67-rated, but confirm that the complete installation—including cabling and connectors—meets the needs of the site.
- Antenna choice: Compare the supplied configurations with the coverage needed; third-party antennas are supported according to Ubiquiti, but compatibility should be checked for the specific antenna.
For outdoor deployments, Ubiquiti’s outdoor UniFi access-point category lists an Ethernet surge protector compatible with 2.5 GbE networks. The page does not establish that this accessory is required or specifically matched to the U7 Industrial; check compatibility with the equipment selected for the installation.

What to check before comparing or buying
For the switches, wait for model-specific details and compare port count and speeds, PoE type and budget, operating-temperature range, DC power redundancy, alarm monitoring, and mounting orientation. The announcement does not provide enough information to rank switch models on those criteria.
Ubiquiti’s store search lists a U7 Industrial product category, but that listing does not establish current price, stock, or availability in a particular region. Confirm the live listing and local availability before planning a purchase.

What is—and is not—established about performance
Ubiquiti presents the switches’ fanless construction and the U7 Industrial’s isolator as features for demanding or interference-prone environments. The announcement contains no independent testing or numeric results for range, throughput, reliability, or interference reduction. Treat those claims as the manufacturer’s description, not a measured guarantee.
