Yes. X publicly displays a bookmark count for posts, but it does not reveal which accounts saved them. X’s current Help Center describes the figure as the total number of times a post has been bookmarked and currently documents the feature for iOS.
What changed
X added a public aggregate bookmark metric to the post-details view. The change began rolling out to iOS users under the Twitter name in March 2023, when Twitter Support announced that tweet details would show the total bookmark activity: contemporary rollout reporting.
This is a visibility change for the count, not a change that makes saved-post lists public. X now calls the feature Bookmark counts and uses “post” rather than “tweet” in its current documentation.
What the number actually means
X says the metric is the total number of times a post has been bookmarked. That wording is narrower than “the number of people who bookmarked it.” X’s Help Center does not say that the figure is deduplicated by account, or explain how it handles someone removing and later adding the same bookmark.

The safest interpretation is therefore a bookmark total, not a guaranteed count of unique users. It also is not a direct score for approval, reach, or sales intent. Someone may save a post because it is useful, because they want to read it later, because it contains evidence, or because they disagree and want to reference it.
Can you see who bookmarked your post?
No. X says individual bookmarks remain private. You can see the aggregate number, but the count cannot be opened to produce a list of accounts, and X does not show the author which specific users saved the post through this feature.
| Information | Visibility |
|---|---|
| Bookmark total | Public to people on X, according to X’s Help Center |
| Accounts that bookmarked the post | Not shown |
| Each user’s saved-post list | Private within that user’s account |
“Private” therefore does not mean that the activity leaves no public trace: the identities stay private while the aggregate count is visible.
How to find the bookmark count on iPhone or iPad
- Open the X app on an iPhone or iPad.
- Open the individual post you want to inspect, rather than relying only on its timeline card.
- Open the post’s details or engagement view if it is not already expanded.
- Look among the public engagement metrics for the bookmark total.
X confirms iOS availability but does not promise a permanently fixed icon or menu position. The layout can vary by app version, account, experiment, or interface update.

Which devices support bookmark counts?
X’s current documentation lists bookmark counts as available on iOS, with expansion planned. That should not be confused with the ability to save and manage bookmarks, which X documents on all three major platforms.
| Task | iOS | Android | Web |
|---|---|---|---|
| View the public bookmark count | Currently documented by X | Not confirmed in the bookmark-count documentation | Not confirmed in the bookmark-count documentation |
| Save a post | Open the post and tap the Bookmark icon | Use Share, then Add post to Bookmarks | Use Share, then Add post to Bookmarks |
The saving instructions are documented in X’s timeline help and bookmark help. Being able to save a post on Android or the web does not establish that those interfaces display the public count.

Is a bookmark the same as a like?
No. A like is a public engagement signal governed by X’s separate visibility rules. A bookmark is a save-for-later action. Older commentary sometimes called bookmarks “quiet likes,” but X’s current bookmark-count documentation does not establish that bookmarks function as likes, automatically increase a like total, or affect ranking.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why creators may care about the metric
A bookmark count can add context that likes and reposts miss. A high total may suggest that readers consider a post useful as a reference, want to revisit its instructions, intend to act on a linked resource, or are saving a thread for later. Educational posts, news references, product guides, and how-to threads may benefit from this kind of signal.
Best Value
It should remain a supplemental metric. It does not tell you who saved the post, why they saved it, whether they returned, or whether they took an action afterward. It should not replace impressions, clicks, replies, reposts, or conversion data when those outcomes matter.
What the count does not tell you
- It does not identify the accounts that bookmarked the post.
- It does not prove endorsement or agreement.
- It does not necessarily represent unique people.
- It does not reveal the reason for saving the post.
- It does not establish that a saver later viewed or acted on it.
- X has not documented in the cited Help Center how counts behave after deletion, protection, suspension, blocking, moderation, or embedding outside X.
If the count is missing
- Confirm that you are using the iOS app, which is the platform currently listed by X.
- Open the individual post and its details view instead of looking only at the timeline.
- Update the X app; an update may help, but it is not a guaranteed fix.
- Check whether the metric appears in a different engagement panel or position after a layout change.
- Allow for account-level rollout differences or interface experiments.
The number may also change over time. X does not promise in the cited documentation that it is real-time, immutable, or displayed identically in every interface.
The bottom line
X has made the scale of bookmarking public while keeping the act of saving private at the account level. You can see how many times a post has been bookmarked, but not who bookmarked it—and the documented metric is a total of bookmark activity, not a confirmed count of unique people.
