Price, release timing, display, storage, operating-system image and exact port selection also remain undisclosed.
What TUXEDO announced
Giznewsdaily reported on October 14, 2026, that TUXEDO introduced the Stellaris 16 Gen 8 as a high-end laptop aimed at both gaming and workstation workloads. The reported processor is Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus. Buyers are expected to be able to choose among three Nvidia laptop graphics configurations:

| GPU option | Dedicated graphics memory | Status |
|---|---|---|
| RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU | 12GB GDDR7 | Reported configuration |
| RTX 5080 Laptop GPU | 16GB GDDR7 | Reported configuration |
| RTX 5090 Laptop GPU | 24GB GDDR7 | Reported top graphics option |
The RTX 5090 version is therefore the model relevant to readers looking for a 24GB GDDR7 flagship GPU in a Linux laptop. The report does not establish the laptop GPU’s power limit, clock settings, cooling design or frame-rate results, all of which can materially change performance between laptops using the same GPU name.

Is 128GB of RAM confirmed?
No. The headline says the Stellaris 16 Gen 8 can be configured with up to 128GB of RAM, but the available report does not list memory capacities, memory type, slot count or upgrade limits. Treat 128GB as an unverified maximum until TUXEDO publishes a configuration page or technical specification.

That distinction matters for buyers. A machine sold with 128GB installed, a model supporting 128GB after a user upgrade, and a model whose headline was based on an early plan are three different purchasing situations. Check the order configurator and the final technical sheet for the exact installed capacity, module layout and supported speed before paying a premium for a large-memory configuration.
How fast is the RTX 5090 configuration?
TUXEDO is reported to claim that the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus is within roughly 8% of Apple’s M5 Max in multithreaded benchmarks and around 10% ahead of AMD’s Ryzen 9 9955HX. Those are vendor claims reported by Giznewsdaily, not independent laboratory results.

The same report says the RTX 5090 configuration leads the RTX 5070 Ti configuration by roughly 18% in synthetic benchmarks. That figure is useful only as an indication of the positioning inside this product family. It does not predict an 18% gain in every game or creative application: resolution, ray tracing, upscaling, cooling limits, firmware, driver versions and the laptop’s power profile can all change the result.

What ports does the Stellaris 16 Gen 8 have?
An exact port list has not been published in the available announcement. Despite descriptions of a laptop with “plenty of ports,” the report does not specify USB-A or USB-C counts, Thunderbolt or USB4 support, display outputs, Ethernet, an audio jack, a card reader or charging connectors. Do not assume that any of those features are present based on the laptop’s workstation positioning.

The comparison is context, not evidence that the Stellaris has the ASUS model’s display, connectivity or memory arrangement. It shows why a buyer should wait for a complete Stellaris specification rather than selecting on the 128GB or “plenty of ports” wording alone.
Availability, price and software details
The October 14 report does not provide a launch date, regional availability, price or retailer listing. It also does not identify the preinstalled Linux distribution, kernel or driver-support policy. Availability may therefore vary by country, and a product announcement should not be treated as proof that orders are open.

Before ordering, look for a live TUXEDO configuration page that states the shipping region, estimated dispatch date, warranty terms, memory and storage choices, GPU power specification, display characteristics and supported Linux images. Those details determine whether the laptop fits a particular development, content-creation or gaming workflow more reliably than the processor and GPU names alone.
Who should wait for more information?
- Choose the Stellaris 16 Gen 8 as a candidate if you specifically want a Linux-oriented machine with an RTX 5090 Laptop GPU and are comfortable waiting for complete specifications.
- Wait before buying if 128GB memory, a particular port, a high-refresh display, a specific SSD capacity or a confirmed shipping date is essential.
- Demand independent testing before making performance claims about games, sustained rendering or thermals; the currently reported CPU and GPU figures are vendor or synthetic comparisons.
The Bottom Line
The Stellaris 16 Gen 8 is a newly announced Linux gaming/workstation laptop with a reported RTX 5090 option and 24GB of GDDR7 VRAM. Its 128GB RAM ceiling, port selection, price, availability and most practical specifications are still unconfirmed, so treat it as an announced product rather than a fully documented purchase option.
