The Samsung setting most likely behind this headline is One UI Auto Blocker. Temporarily switching it off allows several Samsung service codes to run, including codes for your IMEI, caller-ID control, USB modes and touchscreen or Wi‑Fi firmware tools. On phones running One UI 8.5 or later, Auto Blocker reportedly switches itself back on after 30 minutes.
The codes were tested on an unlocked Galaxy S26. Carrier software, regional dialing rules and phone model can still prevent a code from working, even after Auto Blocker is disabled.

What Auto Blocker changes
Auto Blocker is a One UI security control that can prevent certain dialer-based service commands from executing. The documented procedure is to turn it off temporarily, enter the needed code in the Samsung Phone app, then turn the protection back on when finished.
- Open Settings and locate Auto Blocker in the security and privacy settings. You can use Settings search if the menu is organized differently on your Galaxy model.
- Switch Auto Blocker off and confirm the security prompt.
- Open the Samsung Phone app and enter one of the codes below using the dial pad. Some menus appear as soon as the final character is entered; others may require you to tap the call button.
- Use the menu or information shown, then return to Settings and switch Auto Blocker on again. On One UI 8.5 or later, the phone is reported to re-enable it automatically after 30 minutes.
If a code produces “connection problem” or does nothing, Auto Blocker is not the only possible cause. Carrier-locked phones may reject service codes, and availability varies by model, firmware and region.

Four features the setting can expose
| Dial code | What it opens | Practical use | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|
*#06# |
IMEI identifier | Record the phone’s identifier for carrier support, insurance documentation, or a loss or theft report. | The code displays identifying information; it does not unlock or repair the phone. |
*67 (United States)*31# (some regions) |
Caller-ID suppression request | Ask the network to show your number as Unknown or Private for a call. | Carrier support and dialing syntax differ by country. The network, not the handset alone, controls the result. |
*#0808# |
USB Settings menu | Choose supported USB modes. MTP is used for file transfer; RNDIS is associated with USB tethering. | Available modes and behavior depend on firmware and carrier configuration. |
*#2663# |
Touchscreen and Wi‑Fi firmware menu | Provides the TSP FW UPDATE control and controls for refreshing Wi‑Fi-version information. | This is a service menu. Do not change options without knowing what they do or without a specific troubleshooting reason. |
1. Find the IMEI with *#06#
Enter *#06# in the Phone app to open the device’s IMEI information. The IMEI is useful when a carrier asks you to identify the handset, when adding it to an insurance record, or when reporting a lost or stolen phone. Save it in a secure place rather than posting it publicly.
2. Request a private number for a call
In the United States, *67 is the commonly documented prefix for suppressing caller ID on an individual call. In some regions, *31# is used instead. Enter the appropriate prefix before the destination number, for example *67 5551234567 where that format is supported.

This is a carrier feature, not a guaranteed Samsung function. Some networks ignore the request, require a different prefix, or offer caller-ID controls in their account settings. Emergency services and some organizations may still receive identifying information.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3. Select a USB mode with *#0808#
The USB Settings menu exposes modes supported by the phone’s firmware. MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) is the relevant choice for moving files between a Galaxy phone and a computer. A USB‑C data cable is required; a charge-only cable cannot carry files even when the correct mode is selected.

RNDIS is associated with USB tethering, allowing a connected computer to use the phone’s mobile-data connection when the carrier plan and phone software permit it. The menu may list additional modes, but their names and availability differ by model. Change only the mode you need, and return to the normal setting if a computer stops recognizing the phone.
4. Inspect touchscreen and Wi‑Fi firmware controls with *#2663#
This code opens a firmware-oriented service screen containing TSP FW UPDATE and controls for refreshing Wi‑Fi-version information. “TSP” refers to the touchscreen panel firmware. The menu can be relevant during structured troubleshooting, but it is not an everyday settings panel. A firmware action can affect device behavior, so follow Samsung or carrier support instructions before selecting an update or refresh command.

Why a code may still fail
- Carrier restriction: A locked handset may block one or more codes and show a “connection problem.”
- Regional dialing rules: Caller-ID prefixes are not universal;
*67and*31#do not have identical coverage. - Model and One UI differences: Service menus can change between Galaxy generations and software releases.
- Auto Blocker still enabled: Recheck the toggle, then close and reopen the Phone app before trying again.
- Wrong accessory or connection: USB mode selection cannot make a charge-only cable transfer data.
Is Auto Blocker definitely the setting in the original headline?
It is the strongest documented match: the four codes above are described together in testing on an unlocked Galaxy S26, and the instructions specifically say to disable One UI Auto Blocker before entering them. However, the headline itself was not located verbatim, so the intended setting cannot be proved from the wording alone.

Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Samsung phones also have other less-obvious feature routes. For example, enabling Settings > Display > Edge panels > Panels > Tools can reveal a compass and ruler, while related tools include document scanning, Wi‑Fi inspection, Bixby Vision and Quick Measure. Samsung has separately described Galaxy wearable features such as Smart Lock, Buds Together, Auto Switch and Hand Wash. Those are different features and do not use the dial codes in this article.

It will NOT work with other CDMA carriers, and it is also not compatible with their MVNO (Visible, Xfinity Mobile, US Mobile, Cricket Wireless, etc).
- Compatibility with certain third-party devices and accessibility accessories, including some hearing aids, may vary depending on manufacturer support, Bluetooth protocols, software compatibility, and regional firmware limitations. Use the codes conservatively
These commands are best treated as diagnostic or carrier-dependent utilities, not as a hidden performance mode. Start with *#06#, which only displays identification data. Use caller-ID prefixes according to your network’s rules, select MTP when you need file transfer, and leave firmware controls untouched unless you have a specific support instruction. Re-enable Auto Blocker after testing, or let One UI 8.5 restore it after its reported 30-minute window.
