To get a news feed on an Android Chrome New Tab page, open a new tab, tap More → Customize new tab page → Discover feed, then turn the feed on. If by “Google homepage” you mean desktop Chrome, Google does not document a suggested-articles feed there; use Google News on the web for a personalized desktop feed instead.
The steps depend on which Google screen you mean: Chrome’s New Tab page, the Google app, mobile Google Search, or Google News are separate destinations with different controls.

Turn on Discover in Android Chrome
- Open Chrome on your Android device and open a New Tab page.
- Tap More, then Customize new tab page.
- Open Discover feed and turn it on.
Google documents this setting for Chrome on Android. From the same customization area, you can use Interests to manage followed topics and items marked Not interested. The available controls also include options related to account activity and turning off the feed. See Google’s Android Chrome New Tab page instructions.

When you are signed in, suggested articles may be personalized using recent Web & App Activity and your interactions with the articles, depending on your settings. These activity and interest controls affect what you see; enabling the feed does not guarantee identical recommendations across accounts.

Show Discover in the Google app or mobile browser
Google app
In the Google app, tap your profile picture or initial, then go to Settings → General → Discover and enable Discover if the control is available. Google notes that Search settings are being updated, so labels and the exact route may differ. Its Discover help page describes where Discover appears and how to customize it.
Google in an Android browser
Google says Discover can also appear at google.com in an Android browser. On some devices, it may be available by swiping right from the home screen. This is distinct from the Discover setting for Chrome’s New Tab page.

Discover features may not be available in every country or language. If the feed or a setting is absent, availability and Google’s changing settings can be factors; Google’s instructions do not promise the same menu for every user.
Get a Google news feed on a computer
Google’s desktop Chrome help says suggested articles do not appear on the computer homepage. Chrome’s New Tab page customization is for shortcuts and appearance, while the browser’s homepage and startup page are separate settings. As a result, you should not expect an Android-style Discover toggle in desktop Chrome. See Chrome’s computer New Tab page instructions and its homepage and startup page instructions.

For news on a computer, open Google News. Its desktop experience includes For you and Following. When signed in, you can follow topics, locations, or publications; followed interests appear in Following. Google explains the service in Get started with Google News and its customization instructions. Google News is a separate destination, not a setting that adds a feed to desktop Chrome’s homepage.

Why is Google Discover missing?
- Check the surface: Discover’s controls differ between Android Chrome, the Google app, and google.com in a mobile browser. Desktop Chrome does not have a documented suggested-articles feed.
- Check the relevant setting: In Android Chrome, revisit the New Tab page’s Discover feed setting. In the Google app, check Settings → General → Discover; menu labels may vary as Google updates Search settings.
- Check sign-in and account settings: Personalization depends on account and device settings. Google News customization requires sign-in. Google’s widget instructions also require a signed-in Google Account and Discover enabled; see Google’s instructions for adding widgets to the Google app home screen.
- Consider availability: Google says some Discover features are not available in every country or language.
- On a computer, use Google News: It is Google’s separate desktop destination for personalized news, rather than a Chrome homepage feed toggle.
