TSMC reported consolidated revenue of NT$511.86 billion for September 2026, up 54.6% from a year earlier but down 0.6% from August. The company’s results show strong annual growth, but its monthly revenue release does not quantify AI revenue or establish that AI alone caused the increase.

How much did TSMC revenue rise in September 2026?

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited reported NT$511.86 billion in consolidated revenue for September 2026. That was a 54.6% increase from September 2025 and a 0.6% decrease from August 2026, according to TSMC’s September 2026 revenue report, filed with the SEC on October 8, 2026.

The three comparisons describe different periods and should not be conflated:

  • Year over year: Revenue was up 54.6% compared with September 2025.
  • Month over month: Revenue was down 0.6% compared with August 2026.
  • Year to date: Revenue for January through September 2026 totaled NT$3,898.73 billion, up 41.1% from the same period in 2025.

What does the comparison with September 2025 show?

TSMC reported NT$330.98 billion in revenue for September 2025. That figure was already 31.4% higher than September 2024 and 1.4% lower than August 2025, according to the company’s September 2025 release. The 2026 annual comparison is therefore against a September that had itself grown substantially from the previous year.

Did AI drive the September increase?

AI is part of TSMC’s broader demand outlook, but the September revenue report does not break out AI-related sales or identify AI as the cause of the month’s increase. TSMC’s 2025 annual report says: “Entering 2026, we expect AI-related demand to continue to be robust, even as macroeconomic uncertainties persist.” That is company-level context, not a quantified explanation for September’s revenue change; see TSMC’s 2025 annual report.

TSMC’s monthly release also contains no executive explanation of the September result. The available figures establish that consolidated revenue rose sharply year over year while edging down from August; they do not show how much of the change came from AI demand or any other specific driver.

What the revenue figures do—and do not—measure

The NT$511.86 billion figure is consolidated revenue, not profit and not an AI-revenue total. TSMC’s historical monthly-revenue page presents consolidated figures in millions of New Taiwan dollars and notes that 2025 figures were unaudited; the company’s monthly revenue history and methodology provide that reporting context.

For a concise read of the release, keep the periods distinct: September 2026 brought strong growth against the prior year, a slight decline from the prior month, and continued growth in the year-to-date total. AI demand is relevant to TSMC’s outlook, but the published monthly totals do not assign a precise share of September’s result to AI.
