The passenger, Hayden Cole Hidalgo, 32, was arrested and booked on drug-possession-for-sale charges, according to the report. The reported allegations have not been established as a finding of guilt.
What happened at Phoenix Sky Harbor?
In a report published September 27 and updated September 28, 2026, AZFamily said the screening took place at checkpoint C in Terminal 4. Hidalgo reportedly had a black backpack and a black roller bag. During screening, TSA officers noticed what the report described as suspicious organic material in the roller bag and searched an Apple Mac mini box inside it.
The report says officers found a bag containing a white, crystal-like substance and contacted Phoenix police, who took over the investigation and custody. These details are attributed to AZFamily’s account of prosecutors and court documents; the underlying paperwork was not independently available.
What drugs did TSA find in the luggage?
AZFamily reported that Phoenix police lab testing identified 10 grams of cocaine and 70 grams of ketamine. The same report also mentioned a suspected ecstasy pill with the ketamine. These are reported findings attributed to the police testing described in the story, not independently verified laboratory records.

What do prosecutors and Hidalgo say?

The report also said Hidalgo denied knowing the drugs were in the luggage and told authorities he had bought the Apple Mac mini from a private seller. Those are competing attributed accounts; the available reporting does not establish which is true.
What charges and court conditions were reported?
AZFamily said Hidalgo was booked on one count of narcotic drug possession for sale and one count of dangerous drug possession for sale. At his first court appearance, the judge reportedly set a $25,000 cash-only bond, with electronic monitoring and house arrest required upon release. Prosecutors had reportedly requested a $75,000 bond, citing prior drug-related convictions and concerns that he might flee.
