For a one-person household, the Ceramic Frypan 2.0 looks like the most practical everyday choice among the three Ember pieces reviewed; the SuperPan makes sense when you regularly cook larger meals, while the heavy cast-iron tawa is a more specialised tool. The reviewer tried all three for two weeks, but her experience does not establish how they will perform over the long term.

What the two-week review found

Hindustan Times reviewer Soumya Srivastava used the Ceramic Frypan 2.0, Titanium-Clad Cast Iron Tawa and SuperPan almost daily for two weeks. Ember supplied the products for the review, which was updated October 2, 2026. The results are useful as a short-term account of cooking and handling, not as evidence of long-term durability. Which Ember pan fits your cooking?

Cookware Review-reported weight and price What it was like to use Best fit
Ceramic Frypan 2.0 About 700 g; ₹2,999, as reported by Hindustan Times on October 2, 2026 Used for Maggi, egg bhurji and macaroni; the reviewer found it easy to handle and wash, with minimal sticking using little oil. Quick meals and everyday cooking for one.
SuperPan About 1.6 kg; ₹7,499, as reported by Hindustan Times on October 2, 2026 Used successfully for amchur bhindi, kadhai paneer, chole and fried rice. The review describes it as uncoated, with a stainless-steel handle and a silicone holder for the smaller side handle. Larger portions, curries and meals that benefit from more surface or capacity.
Titanium-Clad Cast Iron Tawa 30 cm and about 2.7 kg; ₹4,000, as reported by Hindustan Times on October 2, 2026 Used for rotis, parathas, uttapam and toast. Early browning was uneven, and the reviewer found it heavy and cumbersome to wash; its short side handles became very hot. Toast and uttapam were successful. Flatbreads and griddle cooking, if you are comfortable with cast-iron weight and a learning curve.

What worked—and what didn’t

Ceramic Frypan 2.0: easiest for routine solo meals

At about 700 g according to the review, this was the easiest of the three for the reviewer to handle. She reported little sticking with minimal oil and found it straightforward to wash. For a household of one, those qualities suit quick meals without requiring the larger surface or weight of the other pieces.

Ember Sliding Lid, Splash-Proof Mug Lid Compatible with First and Second Generation Ember Mugs, 14 oz
  • Coffee Lids for Ember Temperature Control Smart Mugs: Go splash-free with this Ember Lid, designed specifically for our first and second generation 14 oz coffee cups
  • Easy-to-Use Lid for Ember Mug: To add the Sliding Lid to Ember coffee mugs, simply press the Sliding Lid onto your temperature control mug until the silicone ring is no longer exposed
  • Easy to Clean: Remove the sliding lid from your heated coffee mug; We recommend removing the silicone band from the bottom rim of the Sliding Lid so you can wash both separately, as well as periodically removing the slider to clean underneath
  • Customize Your Lid: Our sliding lids come with interchangeable sliders in 3 colors (black, white, and red) for easy customization and a perfect match to your mug
  • Extend the Power of Your Battery: The Ember Sliding Lid helps extend your mug's battery by keeping your drink warmer for longer, always at just the right temperature

It is still coated cookware, not a care-free pan. Ember recommends low-to-medium heat, wood or silicone utensils, gentle handwashing and letting the pan cool before washing. Avoid metal utensils and abrasive scrubbers. Ember says its Arcilla ceramic coating is made using water, clay and other ingredients and that its ceramic cookware is free of PTFE and PFAS; those are manufacturer statements, not independent findings that the cookware is safer or healthier. Ember also says non-stick coatings wear over time. See Ember’s material guidance.

SuperPan: more useful when a meal needs room

The reviewer found the SuperPan useful for Indian dishes and meals such as fried rice that benefit from more surface area. Its approximately 1.6 kg review-reported weight makes it substantially heavier than the frypan, but it was still less heavy than the tawa. The review says it is uncoated and describes Ember’s finish as a titanium-enhanced surface engineered into layered stainless steel. It allows metal utensils, according to the article, but sharp edges and repeated scraping can damage the engineered surface.

Tawa: capable, but not an effortless default

The tawa’s 30 cm diameter and roughly 2.7 kg review-reported weight make it the most demanding piece to handle. The reviewer needed practice to get even browning and found cleaning cumbersome; the short handles became very hot. She did achieve successful toast and uttapam, and used it for rotis and parathas. Choose it for a real need for griddle cooking, rather than as the automatic third item in a set.

Do you need all three for one person?

No. The reviewer explicitly said she did not need all three pieces for a family of one. Choose by what you cook most:

Warranty and performance claims to check

Ember’s published warranty information is inconsistent. Its dedicated Warranty page currently lists limited three-year coverage for ceramic cookware, ten years for cast iron and ten years for kitchen tools. The page excludes normal wear and tear, scratches, stains, overheating, thermal shock, metal-utensil damage and other causes. Ember’s FAQ says cookware has a five-year warranty, while the Hindustan Times review describes cast iron as 9+1 years and the SuperPan as 5+1 years. Confirm coverage for the exact model and seller before buying.

Ember’s Quality page describes tests including abrasion resistance, coating adhesion, scratch resistance, egg release and handle fatigue. It says its handle fatigue test involves 15,000 up-and-down cycles and describes a dry-egg test lasting 2.5 minutes, scored on a five-to-one release scale. These are Ember’s published test descriptions; the page does not provide an independent comparative report for the reviewed models.
