Alina Habba brought a laptop with glowing lights to the first day of Donald Trump’s New York civil fraud trial on October 2, 2023. A contemporaneous report identified it as apparently belonging to ASUS’s Republic of Gamers (ROG) line, but did not confirm the exact model or hardware.
What happened in court?
Trump attended the opening day of his New York civil fraud trial on October 2, 2023. Futurism reported the next day that his lawyer, Alina Habba, arrived with a laptop whose lights drew attention. The story described the computer as apparently an ASUS ROG gaming laptop, rather than a confirmed model. Futurism’s October 3, 2023 report is the source for the identification and courtroom context.

Which laptop was it?
The precise model is not established. Futurism noted that Kotaku speculated it could be an ASUS ROG Strix G17 G712, but that was not a confirmed identification. The report did not verify its graphics card, other specifications, price, or why Habba brought it.
Futurism also reproduced a post by Ryan Rigney, described in the story as a marketing executive for the game Omega Strikers: “gamer lawyer brought the 2070ti asus laptop with the blue underglow to the court hearing”. That is Rigney’s description, not confirmation that the laptop contained a particular graphics card or was a specific model.
