It outlines merchant payments by QR code, payment link, e-commerce integration, and point-of-sale system; it does not provide a live signup route or verified setup instructions.
What WLFI is proposing
A WLFI governance forum post dated September 21, 2026, titled “Proposal: USD1 Payments Wallet With WLFI Buyback & Burn,” describes a wallet where people and businesses could hold, send, receive, and spend USD1. For merchants, the post names four potential acceptance methods:

- QR codes
- Payment links
- E-commerce integrations
- Point-of-sale (POS) systems
Those are proposed capabilities, not confirmed features of an available product. Replies displayed on the forum are dated September 27 and 29, 2026, but the proposal and those replies do not establish a vote outcome or launch. Read the WLFI forum proposal.

Can an online business accept USD1 through it now?
The proposal does not establish that merchants can enroll or accept USD1 through this wallet today. It gives no verified checkout plug-in, payment-link service, processor, POS provider, or merchant onboarding page. Businesses should not treat the listed methods as integrations that are already available or compatible.

A separate development is relevant to infrastructure, but does not answer the merchant setup question: zerohash announced on July 14, 2026 that USD1 was supported in its digital-asset infrastructure and included in its on-chain money movement and payments stack for banks, brokerages, fintechs, and payment providers. The announcement is not a direct signup offer for online stores or confirmation of a consumer-facing checkout product. zerohash also says service may not be available in every jurisdiction, including New York. See zerohash’s integration announcement.
What the proposal says about fees and WLFI
The post proposes charging a transaction or service fee and using a percentage of fees to buy and burn WLFI. It leaves the fee and buyback percentage to possible governance decisions. No exact fee, merchant cost, or implemented buyback policy is established by the proposal.

What USD1 is, and how redemption is described
WLFI describes USD1 as redeemable one-to-one for U.S. dollars and available across multiple blockchain networks. Its product page says USD1 settles on-chain in seconds worldwide, 24/7; that is the company’s product claim, not an independently verified performance assessment. The page’s conversion feature is marked “Coming soon.” See WLFI’s USD1 product page.

It identifies BitGo as issuer and says BitGo processes initial purchases and redemptions. According to the FAQ, eligible BitGo customers may redeem directly; other holders may rely on exchanges, platforms, and regulated custodians that support USD1, subject to their terms and eligibility. What businesses should verify before planning around USD1
- Product status: Look for a formal approval and an official live wallet or merchant onboarding page; neither is established by the forum proposal.
- Integration: Confirm that a named processor, e-commerce platform, payment-link provider, or POS system actually supports USD1 for merchant checkout. The proposal names categories, not compatible providers.
- Geography and eligibility: Check the provider’s current jurisdiction coverage and business eligibility. zerohash explicitly notes that its services may not be available in all jurisdictions, including New York.
- Settlement and redemption: Establish which blockchain network and custody arrangement a payment would use, how the merchant would access or redeem USD1, and what provider terms apply. The available proposal does not specify these operational details.
- Fees and protections: Obtain the actual merchant fee schedule rather than relying on the proposed fee mechanism. zerohash says accounts are not subject to FDIC or SIPC protections; its technical enablement of an asset is not an endorsement or recommendation to buy, sell, or hold it.
