Triveni Power Transmission Cash Flow and Financial Statements: What the Filings Show

The available detailed cash-flow figures are for Triveni Engineering & Industries Limited (TEIL), not for its Power Transmission business alone. In FY2024–25, TEIL reported standalone net cash from operating activities of ₹1,537 million and net cash used in investing activities of ₹4,546.6 million. Its filing reports Power Transmission revenue and segment result, but no segment cash-flow statement. The undertaking later vested in Triveni Power Transmission Limited (TPTL) from 1 April 2026, so historical TEIL segment figures should not be presented as TPTL standalone results.

Which company do the cash-flow figures cover?

“Triveni Power Trans” can refer to TEIL’s Power Transmission business or, following the demerger, Triveni Power Transmission Limited. That distinction matters: TEIL’s audited FY2024–25 standalone filing presents cash flow for TEIL as a whole, alongside separate segment information. It does not provide a Power Transmission-specific cash-flow statement. National Stock Exchange of India, FY2024–25 filing, approved 27 May 2025.

The composite scheme later vested the Power Transmission undertaking in TPTL with an appointed date of 1 April 2026. Accordingly, TEIL’s earlier segment revenue and result are useful historical business-segment figures, not post-demerger TPTL financial statements. TEIL standalone cash flow in FY2024–25

The audited standalone statement covers the year ended 31 March 2025 and uses the indirect method. Amounts below are in actual INR, converted to millions for readability.

Cash-flow item FY2024–25 amount What it represents
Net cash from operating activities ₹1,537 million Operating cash after income taxes paid
Net cash used in investing activities ₹4,546.6 million Net investing outflow at TEIL standalone level

These are company-level standalone figures, not cash flows attributable solely to Power Transmission. National Stock Exchange of India, audited FY2024–25 standalone filing.

Why operating cash was lower than profit before tax

The cash-flow reconciliation starts with profit before tax of ₹3,376.4 million. Working-capital movements then reduce or add to cash before taxes are paid:

  • Increased inventories reduced cash by ₹1,444.1 million.
  • Increased current trade receivables reduced cash by ₹1,766.3 million.
  • Increased current trade payables added ₹477.4 million.

After the statement’s adjustments, TEIL reported net cash from operations of ₹2,352.4 million. Income taxes paid were ₹815.4 million, leaving net cash from operating activities of ₹1,537 million. Profit before tax is an accrual-based earnings measure; operating cash also reflects the timing of inventory purchases, customer collections, supplier payments, and tax payments.

What drove investing cash outflow?

TEIL’s standalone investing activities used a net ₹4,546.6 million in FY2024–25. The filing lists major outflows including:

  • ₹2,844 million for purchases of property, plant and equipment.
  • ₹1,295 million in advances and loans to other parties.
  • ₹511.6 million for acquiring interests in joint ventures.

These figures are reported for TEIL at company level. The filing does not establish that all property, plant and equipment spending—or all investing outflows—belonged to the Power Transmission segment.

What the Power Transmission segment figures do show

In FY2024–25, TEIL reported Power Transmission revenue of ₹3,698.9 million and a segment result before tax and interest of ₹1,268 million. These figures describe segment revenue and an accounting result, not cash generated by the segment. They cannot be directly matched to TEIL’s operating or investing cash-flow totals.

For wider company context, TEIL reported standalone revenue from operations of ₹66,554 million and profit before tax of ₹3,376.4 million in the same year. Those company-wide totals have a different scope from the Power Transmission segment figures.

How to read the newer FY2025–26 results

TEIL’s audited FY2025–26 results announcement reports consolidated revenue from operations of ₹7,620.85 crore and net profit after tax of ₹268.71 crore. It also records the scheme and the vesting of the Power Transmission undertaking in TPTL effective from the appointed date of 1 April 2026. The announcement says current-year results include Sir Shadi Lal Enterprises from 21 June 2024, so year-on-year consolidated comparisons are not fully like-for-like. Triveni Engineering & Industries Limited, FY2025–26 results announcement, 29 May 2026.

The company’s investor-relations page also lists Q1 FY2027 company-wide highlights: net-of-excise revenue from operations of ₹1,581 crore, EBITDA of ₹63 crore, and PAT of ₹4 crore. These are not Power Transmission-only results. Triveni Engineering & Industries Limited investor-relations page.

The cited FY2025–26 results summary does not establish detailed audited cash-flow line items, and the available figures do not establish separate post-demerger TPTL cash flows. Do not treat the earnings figures as a substitute for a cash-flow statement.

What to check when comparing cash flow across years

  • Reporting entity: distinguish TEIL standalone, TEIL consolidated, segment information, and TPTL standalone.
  • Operating cash conversion: compare operating cash with earnings while examining working-capital movements, especially receivables and inventory.
  • Investing activity: separate capital spending, loans or advances, and other investment movements; do not assign company-wide amounts to a business segment without a disclosed breakdown.
  • Period and demerger timing: identify whether the reporting period is before or after the 1 April 2026 appointed date and whether the result is consolidated or standalone.
