Triple Flag Precious Metals reportedly deployed US$550 million into new deals during 2026, with activity concentrated in Australia and the United States, according to Investing.com’s September 29 coverage of Mining Forum Americas. The figure is event coverage, not a total independently confirmed here in a company filing. The clearest documented example is a US$84.3 million commitment to fund Northparkes’ E44 development in exchange for a precious-metals stream. Hope Bay appears in Triple Flag’s June growth-project presentation, but the sources available do not establish its latest construction milestone.
Where is Triple Flag investing?
Investing.com reported on September 29, 2026, that Triple Flag said it had deployed US$550 million into new deals during 2026, with deal activity concentrated in Australia and the United States. That is a secondary account of remarks at Mining Forum Americas; it should not be read as a total verified by a company filing. Investing.com’s event coverage is the source for the reported figure.
The company’s February announcement provides a specific example of the investment strategy: funding mine development in return for a stream of future metal deliveries. The Northparkes agreement has defined funding and delivery terms, unlike the broader growth potential associated with projects named in corporate materials.
What does the Northparkes E44 deal include?
On February 10, 2026, Triple Flag announced it had agreed to provide US$84.3 million to fund development of the E44 open-pit mine at Northparkes, an operation owned by Evolution Mining. Triple Flag said the payment was expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. The agreement links that capital to minimum future deliveries of gold and silver. How could other Northparkes projects add growth?
E22 block cave
In its Q1 2026 update, Triple Flag said Evolution had approved development of the E22 block cave at Northparkes. That is a development milestone, not evidence in the cited update that the project has begun production or delivered forecast output.

Potential mill expansion
The same update said Northparkes was studying an increase in processing capacity from 7.5 million tonnes per annum to 10 million tonnes or more. The higher figure was a study target, not an approved or completed expansion. Triple Flag CEO Sheldon Vanderkooy said: “Together with the potential mill expansion to 10 Mtpa or more, we view this development as a catalyst that surfaces significant value at Northparkes for our shareholders.” The statement appeared in the company’s SEC-filed Q1 release on May 5, 2026. Triple Flag’s June 2026 corporate presentation lists Hope Bay among its high-quality organic growth projects. That establishes the company’s characterization of the project as part of its growth pipeline, but the presentation evidence available here does not establish Hope Bay’s latest construction status as of October 3, 2026. It would therefore be premature to describe Hope Bay as an operating growth driver or to infer a production timeline from its inclusion in the presentation. How to read the growth claims
- Executed funding agreement: Northparkes E44 has a disclosed funding commitment and defined stream terms.
- Approved development: E22 had development approval in Triple Flag’s Q1 2026 update, but that milestone alone does not establish production.
- Under study: The 10 Mtpa-or-more mill capacity was being evaluated, not approved or completed in that update.
- Named growth project: Hope Bay was included in the June 2026 presentation, while the available sources do not establish its current construction milestone.
- Portfolio-wide deployment claim: The US$550 million total comes from Investing.com’s report of Mining Forum Americas remarks, rather than a company filing identified here.
