Traits vs. Weapon Enchantments in All Anime Zero (Roblox): What to Upgrade First

Upgrade damage before chasing perfect traits. On a new or struggling All Anime Zero build, take the available damage skill-tree upgrade and a useful damage enchant (the community guides identify Power as the early enchant choice). Then concentrate resources on the weapon that clears content reliably, use trait rerolls only on gear you plan to keep, and add critical chance only after your build survives comfortably. Choose defense instead when boss hits or repeated mistakes are ending runs.

This is a conservative community-guide recommendation, not an official balance ranking. Current trait effects, enchant effects, reroll behavior and costs can change, and the reviewed guides do not establish authoritative percentages or prices. Use the live in-game interface as the final source of truth.

First, make sure you are in the right Roblox experience

Several Roblox experiences use similar anime-themed names. The independent wiki consulted for this guide identifies the relevant experience as place 114574503491412 in universe 10512942223, made by LY*. Before spending currency, compare the title, developer name and interface with those identifiers. An earlier experience with a similar name is reported to be different, so a guide for that game may describe systems that do not exist in your version.

Version checks matter because trait and enchant interfaces are update-sensitive. If your lobby has different labels, currencies or menus, follow what your current client displays rather than forcing the steps below onto another experience.

Traits and enchants are different systems

The words are sometimes used interchangeably in player discussions, but the guides describe two separate actions. A trait is a weapon modifier changed through the trait interface. The October 5 community guide says a reroll affects the currently equipped weapon. It also describes auto-reroll and a trait-pity interface. An enchant is a modifier rolled at the enchant area in the lobby. Treat the interface and the resulting effect—not the vocabulary—as the definition of the system you are using.

This distinction changes the risk of a purchase. A trait reroll is tied to a particular weapon and can replace that weapon’s current modifier. An enchant roll is initiated from the lobby enchant area and follows the options shown there. Because the sources disagree in how confidently they describe the current trait implementation, confirm the selected weapon, the displayed reroll result and any lock or pity controls before accepting a roll.

The upgrade order that works for most early builds

  1. Secure a reliable damage baseline. Use the available damage skill-tree node and an adequate damage enchant before investing heavily in random rerolls.
  2. Pick an anchor weapon. Of the weapons you can equip, identify the one that clears rooms and survives bosses most consistently. Put most early upgrade resources there instead of spreading them across every weapon.
  3. Reroll traits selectively. Spend rerolls on the anchor weapon or another item you genuinely intend to keep. Do not pursue a perfect trait on temporary gear.
  4. Add critical chance when survival is stable. Crit is a damage amplifier, but it is less useful than defense if you are dying before you can complete a run.
  5. Use defense for a specific survival problem. If boss attacks, repeated mistakes or unavoidable damage stop your clears, favor defensive investment until the run becomes reliable.
  6. Delay late-game enchant chasing. Once you have an adequate early Power roll, save named or highly specialized enchants for Nightmare progression or endgame farming rather than spending every early resource on perfection.

The order is about opportunity cost. Early damage improves the number of rooms and bosses you can reach; a reroll on a weapon you will soon replace does not. Once a weapon is proven, its trait investment has a longer useful life.

How the choices compare

Option Best use Main advantage Main risk or limit When to delay it
Damage skill-tree node First progression push Direct, predictable improvement to the build’s damage path Uses skill-tree resources that may have competing defensive or utility nodes When a defensive node is the only way to survive the next boss
Power enchant Early general damage Recommended by the enchant guide as the practical early damage pick Exact current effect and cost are not established in the reviewed guides After you have an adequate roll and are saving for later content
Trait reroll Long-term weapon investment Can improve a weapon you expect to keep Rerolls the selected weapon’s modifier; a poor target wastes scarce resources While the weapon is temporary or you have not checked the selected slot
Critical chance Damage scaling after basic stability Improves offensive output when the build already survives Does not solve deaths caused by boss damage or positioning errors When a run ends before your damage can matter
Defense Boss-stalled or mistake-sensitive runs Extends the time available to deal damage and recover from errors May slow room clears compared with a pure offensive choice When you already clear comfortably and are optimizing farming speed
Late-game named enchant Nightmare or endgame specialization Can fit a finished farming or build-specific setup Early perfection chasing delays broad progression; values and costs are not published in the reviewed sources During first Story clears or while your weapon is still changing

The table deliberately avoids percentages and prices. The reviewed fan guides do not provide developer-published current values for every trait or enchant, so a numerical ranking would imply precision the evidence does not support.

Step-by-step: make an early upgrade without wasting resources

1. Identify the actual bottleneck

Play enough of your current Story content to classify the failure. If enemies remain alive for too long but you rarely take lethal damage, the bottleneck is offense. If a boss kills you while your damage is otherwise adequate, the bottleneck is survivability. If rooms are safe but slow because you spend too long repositioning, movement speed or a utility option may be more valuable than another random offensive roll.

Write down which weapon you used for the successful rooms and which one you used when the run failed. This simple comparison prevents you from rerolling the weapon that merely has the most attractive menu display rather than the one that performs in your hands.

2. Take the available damage skill-tree upgrade

Open the skill-tree interface and inspect the currently unlocked damage path. The community skill guide’s broad recommendation is to choose damage first for early progression. Select the damage node you can actually purchase now, unless the next encounter is demonstrably impossible without a defensive or movement option. Do not treat unlisted values from old guide screenshots as guaranteed current numbers; use the node description shown by your client.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

3. Roll an adequate early enchant

Travel to the lobby’s enchant area and inspect the roll screen before confirming. The enchant guide names Power as its early damage pick. The goal at this stage is an adequate Power result that helps clear content, not a perfect late-game combination. Record the displayed result and cost if you need to compare future rolls, because the reviewed sources do not establish a permanent price or effect table.

Roblox Digital Gift Card - 2,500 Robux [Includes Exclusive Virtual Item] [Digital Code]

After an acceptable roll, stop and test the weapon in the content you are trying to clear. A marginal improvement that lets you finish a Story run is more valuable than spending the same resource on repeated rolls while your build remains unable to survive the boss.

4. Fill both weapon slots, but choose one spending priority

The trait guide describes two equippable weapon slots. Keeping both slots filled gives you flexibility, but the skill guide recommends concentrating early resources on the weapon that performs reliably rather than upgrading every weapon equally. Equip a second weapon when it has a useful role—such as a different range, attack pattern or room-clearing strength—without splitting your limited rerolls and enhancement budget in half.

Use the anchor weapon for the content that determines progression. A second weapon can remain serviceable with basic upgrades until you know it deserves long-term investment.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

5. Verify the selected weapon before a trait reroll

Open the trait interface, select the weapon you intend to keep and read the selected item name or icon. Because the October 5 guide says rerolls affect the currently equipped weapon, equip the target first and remove ambiguity from the other slot. Check whether auto-reroll is enabled, what condition stops it and whether a pity counter is displayed. Start a manual roll before enabling automation if you are learning the interface.

Only commit when the weapon’s role is settled. A temporary weapon can be replaced by a stronger drop, causing every trait resource spent on it to lose value. If the interface offers a lock, confirm that the lock applies to the modifier you want rather than merely to the weapon selection.

When critical chance beats defense—and when it does not

Choose critical chance

Crit is the offensive follow-up once your run is dependable. It is appropriate when you can clear ordinary rooms without emergency healing or repeated deaths, and when the remaining problem is how quickly you finish a boss or farm a route. In that situation, additional damage events can shorten exposure to attacks.

Crit should complement, not replace, the initial damage foundation. Adding it before a useful Power enchant or before the available damage skill node leaves the build relying on a chance-based improvement while a direct upgrade remains unclaimed.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Choose defense

Defense is the better choice when a boss ends attempts before your weapon’s damage cycle completes, when one mistake is unrecoverable, or when unavoidable hits repeatedly remove most of your health. More damage cannot improve a run that ends before you can apply it. Stabilize the encounter first, then return to offensive scaling.

Consider movement speed for positioning problems

The skill guide also identifies movement speed as useful for positioning or room clears. It is not a universal replacement for damage or defense. Consider it when your deaths come from failing to leave an attack area or when map traversal, rather than enemy health, is the time bottleneck. Keep the investment tied to an observed problem instead of selecting it because it sounds generally helpful.

Progression stages: Story, Nightmare and farming

First Story clears

During first clears, prioritize a damage node, an adequate Power enchant and a weapon you can control consistently. Avoid spending the entire stock of rerolls on a temporary item. Your objective is access to the next content tier, not a finished endgame sheet.

Transition to Nightmare

When Story content is reliable, review whether your anchor weapon still suits the harder encounters. This is the point to use saved trait resources if the weapon has proven durable in your roster. Replace an enchant only when the current effect is a measurable limitation for the content you are entering, not because another player displays a rarer label.

Endgame farming

Late-game named enchants and specialized trait combinations make more sense after your weapon pool and route are stable. The enchant guide recommends moving on from an adequate early Power roll and reserving deeper enchant chasing for later farming. The exact late-game priority depends on the live effects and your chosen farming pattern, neither of which is fully documented by the reviewed sources.

Common mistakes and practical fixes

  • Rerolling the wrong slot: Equip the target weapon, read its name in the trait screen and confirm the active modifier before spending.
  • Perfecting temporary gear: Keep a reserve of rerolls for an item you intend to use beyond the next upgrade milestone.
  • Splitting every resource evenly: Maintain both weapon slots if useful, but direct most early spending to the weapon that clears reliably.
  • Chasing late-game labels too early: Stop after an adequate early Power result and test progression before rolling again.
  • Adding crit while dying: If a boss repeatedly ends runs, move the next investment to defense or a positioning aid until the encounter is stable.
  • Trusting an old screenshot: Read the current in-game description and cost. Community guides are useful recommendations, not official patch guarantees.
  • Assuming trait and enchant mean the same thing: Use the location and interface—trait menu versus lobby enchant area—to determine which action you are about to purchase.

A simple decision checklist before every upgrade

  1. Am I in the experience made by LY* with place ID 114574503491412 and universe ID 10512942223?
  2. What is actually stopping progress: enemy health, boss damage, positioning or movement time?
  3. Have I taken the available damage skill-tree node?
  4. Does the weapon have an adequate Power enchant for my current Story or Nightmare objective?
  5. Is this the weapon I expect to keep, and is it the one currently equipped?
  6. Will this trait reroll solve a demonstrated weakness, or am I chasing a label?
  7. Can the build survive a full encounter without relying on luck?
  8. If yes, would critical chance improve the next target faster than defense or movement?
  9. Have I checked the current interface for costs, auto-reroll settings and pity information?

What is and is not established about exact values

No named statistic in the reviewed material establishes an official current percentage for every trait, enchant or skill interaction. One October 5 fan guide discusses some skill-tree and critical mechanics, but it does not identify an original developer publication for those figures. The trait and enchant guides specifically leave newer effect values and costs unpublished. Use their directional advice—damage early, preserve rerolls, inspect the live interface—without converting it into an unsupported tier list.

Because independent guides can lag behind patches and disagree about implementation details, recheck the interface whenever the game updates. A changed reroll target, a new lock rule or a revised enchant pool can alter the value of an otherwise sensible plan.

Bottom line for three common situations

  • You are new and clearing slowly: take the available damage skill node, roll an adequate Power enchant and test the weapon before spending on traits.
  • You clear rooms but fail bosses: keep the useful damage foundation, then favor defense or movement until survival is reliable.
  • You farm comfortably with a settled weapon: use selective trait rerolls and consider critical chance or specialized late-game enchants for that weapon, checking the current UI rather than relying on old values.
