There is no substantiated dividend winner among Tractor Supply, Home Depot, and Lowe’s from the available figures alone. Their announced per-share dividends differ, but a meaningful investor comparison also needs same-date share prices, payout and cash-flow coverage, balance-sheet context, and valuation. The evidence below helps identify what each company’s dividend record and business exposure can—and cannot—tell you.
What dividend has each company announced?
The figures below are per share, but they are not directly comparable as measures of income: Tractor Supply’s figure is an annualized rate, while Home Depot’s and Lowe’s figures are quarterly rates. They also come from company announcements or records at different points in 2026.

| Company | 2026 dividend evidence | What the company says about increases |
|---|---|---|
| Tractor Supply | $0.24 quarterly, or $0.96 annualized, per share. The company says it pays in March, June, September, and December. Tractor Supply, February 11, 2026; Investor FAQs | The February 2026 announcement called it the 17th consecutive year of dividend increases. Company announcement |
| Home Depot | $2.33 per share quarterly in the three 2026 entries shown on its dividend-history page. Its 2025 annual report says the board raised the rate from $2.30 to $2.33 in February 2026, a 1.3% increase. Dividend history; 2025 annual report | The annual report notes that future dividends remain subject to board declaration and financial considerations. 2025 annual report |
| Lowe’s | The company announced an increase to $1.25 per share quarterly on May 29, 2026. Its release index also lists an August 28, 2026 cash-dividend declaration, but the amount of that declaration is not stated in the index. Lowe’s financial press releases | The cited release index establishes the May increase, but it does not supply a comparable multi-year growth series. |
These are announced rates, not a promise that every future payment will be made. A company’s board may change or suspend a dividend; Home Depot explicitly says future payments are subject to board action and financial considerations.

The cited figures do not establish a current yield ranking. Yield depends on the share price on a particular date as well as the dividend rate, so comparing the dollar payments alone would be misleading. A sound comparison should use prices from one stated date and a consistent dividend basis—for example, the then-current annualized rate for each company.
#1 Best Overall
Yield is only one part of the income decision. A higher yield can reflect a lower share price, including a market concern about the business or the dividend. It does not, by itself, show that a payout is safer or that an investment will deliver better total returns.
What does the dividend-growth record tell an investor?
Tractor Supply
Tractor Supply says its 2026 increase marked 17 consecutive years of annual dividend growth. That establishes a sustained record of increases, but the cited announcement does not provide a matched growth rate for the other two companies over the same years. The company also notes that its shares underwent a five-for-one split effective December 20, 2024, so historical per-share figures should be compared on a split-adjusted basis. Rank #2
Home Depot and Lowe’s
Home Depot’s cited annual report quantifies its latest stated increase as 1.3%, from $2.30 to $2.33 in February 2026. The cited Lowe’s release index identifies an increase to $1.25 in May 2026, but does not provide a comparable multi-year growth series. Those isolated figures are not enough to rank the companies’ long-term dividend-growth rates.

For an apples-to-apples growth comparison, use the same start and end years for all three, adjust Tractor Supply’s historical per-share amounts for its split, and distinguish declared increases from dividends actually paid. The evidence here does not establish that full comparison.

How different are the businesses behind the dividends?
Tractor Supply: rural living and animal-related needs
Tractor Supply describes its customers as recreational farmers, ranchers, homeowners, gardeners, and pet enthusiasts. As of June 27, 2026, the company reported 2,463 Tractor Supply stores in 49 states and 209 Petsense stores in 23 states; it also said it planned approximately 100 new Tractor Supply stores for fiscal 2026. These company-reported figures describe its footprint and plan, not proof that expansion will succeed or support future dividend growth. Tractor Supply Investor FAQs
Home Depot: home-improvement specialty retail
Home Depot identifies itself as a home-improvement specialty retailer. It reported fiscal 2025 net sales of $164.7 billion and earnings of $14.2 billion. Those figures offer scale context, but they are not a matched comparison with Tractor Supply and Lowe’s latest results. Home Depot investor documents
Rank #4
Lowe’s: operating comparison remains incomplete
The cited Lowe’s material establishes dividend announcements, not enough operating data to compare its latest momentum with the other retailers. The available sources likewise do not provide a matched set of recent results for all three companies. Their different retail niches may matter to an investor’s view of business exposure, but the evidence here does not establish which business is currently performing better.
What should you check before choosing one for income?
A dividend announcement and a history of increases are useful starting points, not a complete test of income durability or investment value. Before deciding which stock fits your portfolio, compare the following using figures for the same reporting period wherever possible:
Best Value
- Yield: Calculate each yield using a share price from the same date and a clearly stated annual dividend basis.
- Payout coverage: Compare dividends with earnings and, preferably, free cash flow. The cited material does not establish comparable payout ratios or cash-flow coverage.
- Balance-sheet flexibility: Review debt and other capital needs alongside dividend commitments. The cited material does not support a matched balance-sheet ranking.
- Growth consistency: Compare dividend growth over one shared multi-year window, with Tractor Supply’s historical per-share amounts adjusted for its stock split.
- Business and valuation: Weigh each company’s retail exposure against its valuation and potential total return. No common-date valuation or total-return comparison is established here.
Without those matched figures, a claim that one has the “best” dividend would overstate what these announcements show. Tractor Supply’s consecutive increase record, Home Depot’s stated 2026 rate and increase, and Lowe’s May increase are distinct pieces of evidence; none alone establishes the best combination of yield, safety, growth, and price.
