TP-Link Archer AX10 Review: What AX1500 Means for Your Home

The TP-Link Archer AX10 is an AX1500-class Wi-Fi 6 router, but that label does not guarantee a particular download speed, range, or experience in your home. It is most relevant if your devices support Wi-Fi 6 and you want a router whose advertised features match those clients. Before buying—or installing firmware—check the unit’s hardware revision and the support page for your purchase region.

What does AX1500 mean?

TP-Link describes the Archer AX10 as an AX1500 Wi-Fi 6 router. AX1500 is a product class designation, not a measured speed test or a promise that a device will download at a particular rate. Actual results depend on the connected client, the connection and environment, and other factors; the available product information does not establish independent throughput or range results for this router. See TP-Link’s Archer AX10 product page and the US V2.0 datasheet.

Will it suit your home and devices?

The AX10’s Wi-Fi 6 features matter most when the devices you connect can use them. TP-Link’s materials say that Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and features such as WPA3, OFDMA, and 1024-QAM require client devices that support the corresponding features. A router’s advertised feature set alone therefore does not determine what each phone, computer, or other device will use.

  • A reasonable fit: your devices support Wi-Fi 6 features you want to use, and the router’s features and regional support fit your needs.
  • Check compatibility first: you rely on a specific feature such as WPA3 or OFDMA; confirm that the client devices support it too.
  • Do not buy on an assumed speed or coverage figure: the AX1500 label is not a household performance measurement, and no independent benchmark with stated conditions is established here.

Which hardware revision and firmware apply?

Hardware revision and purchase region matter when choosing firmware. TP-Link’s US support page lists selectors for V1, V1.20, V2, V2.60, V3, and V3.60, but that does not mean every revision is sold in every region. TP-Link cautions that firmware must match the device’s hardware version and local purchase location. Start at the Archer AX10 support and downloads page, select the revision printed on your unit, and use the support page for the region where it was purchased.

As of September 8, 2026, TP-Link’s US listing for V3.6 showed firmware 1.3.3 Build 20260616, described as including security and stability enhancements. That listing applies to the US V3.6 revision only; it is not a firmware recommendation for other revisions or regions.

  1. Check the router’s label or local documentation for its hardware version and purchase region.
  2. Open the corresponding TP-Link regional support page and choose that hardware version.
  3. Read the firmware listing and upgrade instructions for the selected revision before installing anything. Do not use a firmware file merely because it is listed for another AX10 revision.

Can you extend its coverage?

A compatible TP-Link OneMesh range extender may be an option if you need coverage beyond the router’s reach. Compatibility depends on the exact extender model and firmware, so check both against the Archer AX10 user guide and the extender’s support information before buying or configuring it. The available information does not establish a coverage radius for the AX10 or guarantee that a particular extender will work with every unit.
