Toy Shire, a toy-themed tower-defense strategy game, is reported to have reached a new low on Steam: Notebookcheck reported a 50% discount to $4.99 from $9.99, scheduled to run through October 15, 2026. What is Toy Shire?
Developed by Bluespy Studios and published by Catoptric Games, Toy Shire puts a toy battle in rooms around a house. You defend a base against waves of old toys by building and upgrading towers, while also recruiting and commanding green toy soldiers. Some levels let you attack enemy bases instead of focusing solely on defense.

What does the sale price mean?
Notebookcheck reported on October 8, 2026 that Toy Shire was 50% off at $4.99, down from $9.99, and called it the game’s first price below $5. The official Steam listing confirms a 50% promotion scheduled to end October 15, 2026. Is the gameplay a good fit?
The appeal is the combination of tower placement and direct troop command, set against a deliberately toy-scale backdrop. If you like building defenses but want more than a stationary tower-defense loop, the ability to command soldiers—and to go on the offensive in some levels—may be a reason to consider it. The creative mode may also appeal if arranging or experimenting with objects matters as much as completing missions.
There are reported caveats. Notebookcheck summarized player reactions that praised the toy environments, nostalgic atmosphere, and mix of tower defense and real-time strategy, while also noting complaints about balance, difficult levels and bosses, limited content, and occasional technical issues. The Steam listing gives Windows and macOS requirements. Its Windows requirements include Windows 10, an Intel Core i5 processor, 1 GB RAM, an Nvidia GeForce 1050, and 1 GB of storage.
