Build for the activity in PvE; build for the arena rules in Apex League. PvE team choices depend on the job at hand—damage, healing, tanking or a balance—and whether you are playing solo or in co-op. Apex League uses different rules: a community-maintained mode reference says weapon resonance, Simulacrum traits and Matrix effects are disabled, while stats are normalized. So a PvE team may still bring useful weapon kits to PvP, but its bonuses and assumptions do not transfer wholesale.
How PvE team building works
Start with the activity’s needs, then select weapons that can fill them. The community-maintained weapon reference describes Attack, Fortitude, Benediction and Balance resonance, with effects that differ between solo and team play. The Tower of Fantasy Index guide frames co-op roles as Attacker, Tank and Support, with role bonuses.

- Solo: Consider what the weapon combination can cover without relying on teammates. The available references establish that resonance effects vary by solo versus team play; they do not establish one required solo formula.
- Co-op: Consider what the group already brings before choosing your role. Attack, tanking or support may be useful depending on the activity and team composition.
- Activity-specific content: Do not assume every PvE mode requires a dedicated tank or healer. The cited references do not establish that as a universal requirement.
These roles are a framework, not a universal best-team recipe. The right choice depends on the content, your roster and weapon kits, and the current balance version.
What changes in Apex League PvP
Apex League is an arena, and the available community-maintained Apex League reference reports that weapon resonance effects, Simulacrum traits and Matrix effects are disabled. It also describes stats as normalized, including base, weapon, Relic, advancement and enhancement stats, and notes reduced healing and unavailable Jetboards.

That changes what to weigh when selecting weapons: focus on the kit and how it handles opponents under the arena’s rules, rather than counting on PvE resonance or Matrix bonuses. The detailed rule description comes from a community wiki, not an official current rules page; check the in-game mode rules before relying on those exact mechanics.
Do PvE weapons work in Apex League?
A weapon you use in PvE can still be part of your Apex League selection, but that does not mean the full PvE build carries over. According to the community mode reference, resonance, traits and Matrix effects do not apply there, and stats are normalized. Treat the weapon’s arena-relevant kit as the basis for your choice; do not assume its PvE bonuses decide the matchup.

What the current update context does—and does not—tell you
The official version 6.3 update announcement, dated September 10, 2026, says it added levels to Bygone Phantasm: Boundless Realm and launched a new Sequential Phantasm season. It also says The Witch’s Key weapon and Gray Fox Matrices entered permanent Choice Orders after the update. These are useful signs that PvE progression and roster access continue to change, not evidence that a particular team is best.

Tower of Fantasy Tools lists a September 26, 2026 changelog entry for Zoey and maintains weapon, Matrix, gear and team data. It is a community tool, not an official balance authority. Together, these dated updates underscore why build advice should be tied to a mode and version rather than treated as permanent.

How to choose without relying on a universal tier list
- Identify the mode and objective. For PvE, determine what the activity and your group need. For Apex League, use the arena’s rules as your starting point.
- Choose a role and weapon kit. In PvE, consider Attack, Fortitude, Benediction or Balance resonance and the solo/co-op context. In Apex League, evaluate the weapon kit without assuming resonance, traits or Matrix effects apply.
- Check your actual roster and version. A theoretical ranking cannot account for every player’s available weapons, investment or current balance changes.
- Verify arena rules in-game. The detailed Apex League mechanics cited here come from a community reference, so confirm the live rules before making a precise competitive build decision.
No definitive current, activity-specific PvE or PvP weapon ranking is established by the available sources. A named “best team” would overstate what they support.
