Dejan Kulusevski is reportedly back in full training with Tottenham and has looked sharp in sessions, but the club has not confirmed when he will return to competitive action. The latest update, published by RotoWire on 2 October 2026 and attributed to Football London, says he provided a couple of assists for Mohammed Kudus in small-sided training games. What the latest report says
RotoWire’s 2 October update, attributing its information to Football London, describes Kulusevski as training fully and looking sharp during that week’s sessions. It says he supplied a couple of assists for Mohammed Kudus in small-sided games. These are observations reported by a secondary outlet; the Tottenham updates cited below document earlier stages of his recovery and do not independently confirm this latest assessment.
The report’s suggestion that Kulusevski could make a matchday squad later in October is explicitly conditional on avoiding further setbacks. It is not a confirmed return date, a guarantee of selection, or confirmation that he is match-fit. RotoWire
How his recovery has progressed
January 2026: managing knee pain
On 8 January 2026, then-head coach Thomas Frank called the injury complicated and said the immediate priority was to remove the pain in Kulusevski’s knee. Tottenham’s account said he had received an injection 10 days before the press conference and that the club expected to reassess him in three to four weeks. August 2026: rehabilitation and individual work
In a recovery gallery published on 5 August 2026, Tottenham described Kulusevski as rehabilitating from a right patella injury sustained in a Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace in May 2025. The club said he underwent a procedure on 14 May and showed him doing running and ball work. Its stated target was for him to return at some point during the 2026/27 campaign. September 2026: return to training reported
The Independent reported on 18 September that De Zerbi had confirmed Kulusevski’s return to training after a long layoff. The later 2 October report describes full training and sharp sessions, but no source cited here establishes a competitive return date. The Independent’s report

There is a date discrepancy in Tottenham’s August material: its recovery gallery identifies the described right-patella injury as sustained in May 2025, while the 21 August press-conference page says he had been out with a knee injury since April 2024. The cited sources do not reconcile those dates, so they should not be treated as a single, uninterrupted absence timeline.
