Toshin is a 6v6 Black Ops 7 map where quick rotations can pay off, but pushing alone can leave you outnumbered. Learn the three main areas—Park, Market, and Station—then use Koban Corner and the Station vent routes to change elevation, watch the wrecked Monorail, and flank without losing track of your team.
What to know about Toshin’s layout
Activision lists Toshin as a 6v6 multiplayer map. Its 2025 launch description called it medium-sized; that is a launch-era classification, not a measured map dimension. The setting is a downtown shopping district disrupted by a derailed monorail, with Park, Market, and Station among its key areas. Narrow streets and connected upper walkways create a mix of close ground-level routes and elevated sightlines.

The central tactical trade-off is speed versus isolation. Moving quickly helps you reach a useful angle or reinforce a fight, but a solo push can expose you to several opponents. Advance with teammates where possible, check upper angles as you move, and use elevated positions to help hold areas under pressure. Activision’s Toshin guide recommends coordinated movement and using vantage points to secure pressured areas.

Koban Corner — Alpha (A)
Koban Corner’s rooftop is a strong overlook: it covers Park and Station from one side and has a direct view toward the Monorail from the other. Use its height and cover to watch approaches or support teammates below. The back route offers a way to flank ground-level opponents rather than staying fixed on the rooftop.

The position’s visibility is also its risk. Enemies can focus return fire on a rooftop they know is occupied, and the angle does not protect you from multiple approaches. Keep an escape route in mind and avoid treating the overlook as safe simply because it has a commanding view.
Sign vent route — Beta (B)
Near the Park entrance inside Station, an elevator shaft drops to Sign. From there, a narrow walkable path connects to Karaoke’s upper floor and provides coverage over the Monorail. This route changes your elevation and approach angle without crossing the main street, but the thin path can leave you exposed while traversing it. Check the route before committing and coordinate the move if teammates can cover your departure or arrival.

Cat Café vent route — Gamma (Γ)
At the west end of Station, an open vent leads to a closet in Cat Café. Stairs from the closet return to street level, while Cat Café’s upper floor overlooks the monorail crash site. Activision identifies the vents as ways to escape quickly or catch opponents by surprise. Use the connection to vary your route, but do not assume the vent exit is uncontested.

Market is one of Toshin’s named major areas, but Activision’s guide does not establish a specific power position or vent connection there. Treat the connecting streets as exposed transition space: keep checking elevated angles and move with nearby teammates rather than crossing alone on the assumption that opponents are focused elsewhere.

How to use the vents without getting caught
- Choose an exit for a reason. Use the Park-side Station shaft when you want to reach Sign and Karaoke’s upper floor; use the west Station vent to reach Cat Café’s closet, stairs, and upper floor.
- Check the approach before entering. Listen and look for nearby opponents, and avoid dropping into a route while teammates are too far away to support you.
- Account for exposure on the Sign path. The connection toward upper Karaoke is narrow, so crossing it can make you an easy target. Move when your team is applying pressure or when the route is clear.
- Decide whether to flank or leave. A vent route can change your angle on the Monorail or provide an escape. Do not continue deeper just because you reached the other side; regroup if the move would isolate you.
Loadout ideas from Activision’s map guide
Activision’s Toshin guide suggests two approaches. These are developer recommendations for the map, not independently tested rankings or proof of the current multiplayer meta.
- Hunter’s Instinct: The guide says it marks the direction of the next closest enemy after an elimination, which can help you decide whether to continue a push or watch for a nearby threat.
- Explosive-focused setup: The suggested combination is Flak Jacket, Blast Link, Quartermaster, and a Cluster Grenade. Activision says Blast Link shares explosive-damage intel with the team.
Choose between them based on how you play with your squad: Hunter’s Instinct suits players looking to read the next threat after a kill, while the explosive setup is the guide’s team-oriented option. The source does not establish that either is optimal across modes or current balance changes.

The official material cited here does not establish current playlist rotation, competitive map-pool status, exact dimensions, measured sightlines, or present-day weapon and perk balance. Use the map tactics as route guidance, not as a guarantee that Toshin is available in a particular playlist.
