Four of the five are listed as Steam Deck Verified; Master Of Pottery is Playable with a text-entry caveat.
This is a review-led shortlist, not a sales chart. SteamDB reports 100 matching products for the filter and warns that some results may be missing, so the table should be read as the leading entries in the retrieved September slice rather than a definitive list of every release.

What “top-rated” means here
The order comes from SteamDB’s user-review percentage for games shown by its 2026 table with a September 2026 Steam release filter. It does not measure copies sold, player counts, revenue or concurrent users. A high percentage can also reflect a smaller or especially enthusiastic audience, while a large established game may collect a broader mix of reviews.

The dates below are Steam release dates shown in that filtered table. SteamDB’s results can omit products, and review percentages can move as more players post reviews, so treat the numbers as a snapshot of the retrieved table.

The leading September 2026 releases

| Welcome to Elderfield | 10 September 2026 | 89.22% | Verified |
| Drag’n Wash | 10 September 2026 | 89.04% | Verified |
The table establishes each title’s September Steam listing, but it does not identify every entry as a completely new game rather than an update, port or edition. Touhou Koumakyou: New Classic is explicitly a remake; the retrieved listing does not otherwise specify release format for the other four.
What each game offers
Touhou Koumakyou: New Classic – the Embodiment of Scarlet Devil
This bullet-hell remake leads the retrieved September group by review percentage. SteamDB’s individual game page recorded a 93.86% rating when accessed, different from the 94.13% shown in the filtered table. That difference illustrates why review figures should be treated as time-specific snapshots rather than permanent scores. Its Steam Deck status is Verified.

Valheim
The survival/action entry combines a September release listing with a comparatively large, established audience. Its 93.15% table rating places it second in this filtered slice, and SteamDB records it as Steam Deck Verified. The available listing does not specify whether this date represents a wholly new product, an edition or an update.

This relaxed pottery simulation is the only one of the five marked Playable rather than Verified. SteamDB says it performs well on Deck, but entering text may require manually opening the on-screen keyboard. That is a practical control-interface limitation, not a claim that the game is unplayable.

Welcome to Elderfield
The RPG, adventure and farming-simulation entry has an 89.22% user-review percentage in the filtered table and a Verified Deck label. SteamDB records a Deck test timestamp of 25 August 2026. The timestamp identifies when that compatibility check was recorded; it is not a guarantee that later game or system updates will behave identically.
Drag’n Wash
This cleaning simulation appears at 89.04% and is also marked Verified. SteamDB records a Deck test timestamp of 14 September 2026. As with every compatibility check, that date describes the review state at the time, not a promise about future builds.

- Valve is entering the gaming console marketplace with the new Steam Deck, a console geared towards PC gamers. The Steam Deck can be docked to a monitor, and used as a PC, or docked to a TV.
- Players can play a huge variety of games at any time with the comfort of a console and the freedom of a PC. Not anti-glare screen.
- Like the name suggests, the Steam Deck will include upgraded 1TB storage, and will include a carrying case. A micro SD slot will also enable expanded storage.
- Valve partnered with AMD to create a specialized APU optimized for handheld gaming, and Valve says the chip will deliver performance to run AAA gaming titles.
- The Steam Deck is outfitted with a 7-inch touchscreen, and two trackpads under the control sticks that allow gamers to operate games never designed outside of mouse and keyboard capabilities.
How to read Steam Deck compatibility
Valve displays compatibility information in the Steam store and library to help people decide what to buy and play. Valve’s documentation states: “When you visit your Library on Steam Deck, you’ll automatically see the compatibility rating of each game, indicating the kind of experience you can expect when playing.”
- Verified: the game met Valve’s reviewed criteria for the Deck experience at the time it was checked.
- Playable: the game works, but one or more caveats may require adjustment, such as invoking an on-screen keyboard for text entry.
Neither label is an FPS measurement, battery-life estimate or substitute for a personal performance test. Valve says the review process is ongoing, and ratings can change as games are updated and Steam Deck gains new software features. Check the current store or library badge before purchasing, particularly for a title whose build has changed since the recorded test.
Which September release should you choose?
- For the highest review percentage: start with Touhou Koumakyou: New Classic, while remembering that its table score and individual-page score were not identical when accessed.
- For survival/action: Valheim is the relevant pick and has a Verified Deck listing.
- For a calm creative simulation: Master Of Pottery fits, provided you are comfortable bringing up the on-screen keyboard when text input is needed.
- For an RPG with farming elements: Welcome to Elderfield offers that combination and is marked Verified.
- For a cleaning-focused simulation: Drag’n Wash is the matching choice and is also marked Verified.
Use the review ranking and Deck badge for different decisions: the percentage reflects what Steam users reported, while the badge describes Valve’s compatibility review. They are related buying signals, but they do not measure the same thing.
Why the list can change
SteamDB’s September filter is a useful way to find highly rated entries, but it is not a complete market census. Missing products, additional reviews and game updates can all alter the order. The five titles above therefore represent the strongest entries in the retrieved filtered table, not an unchanging definition of the best September releases.
