Tom’s Guide’s ChefIQ MiniOven Has a Reported $220 Prime Day Discount

Tom’s Guide reported on Oct. 6, 2026, that the CHEF iQ MiniOven (model CQ50) was $379 at Amazon, down from a stated $599, for Prime members. That is a dated deal report, not confirmation that the offer is still live: check Amazon’s current price, reference price and eligibility before buying. The first-person use described below belongs to Tom’s Guide reviewer Mike Prospero, not to this article’s author.

What the reported Prime Day deal includes

Tom’s Guide’s Oct. 6, 2026 article reported a Prime-member-only Amazon price of $379, compared with a stated regular price of $599. It characterized the reduction as $220, or 37% off. Those figures describe the listing at the time of that report; the price, discount and Prime eligibility can change, so verify all three on the retailer page before treating the offer as current.

Prospero’s article says he had tested the oven for about three months before his December 2025 review and that, a year later, it was still going strong. He described using it for toast, muffins, roast chicken, air-fried nuggets and small pizzas, and said firmware updates appeared to help its toast performance. These are his reported experiences, not independent testing for this article. His earlier Tom’s Guide review, published Dec. 6, 2025, also listed air frying and temperature-probe compatibility among the strengths, and price, toast performance and a hot exterior among the drawbacks.

What the CHEF iQ MiniOven is

CHEF iQ identifies the appliance as the iQ MiniOven, model CQ50. The company lists a 25-quart capacity and 11 cooking modes: bake, roast, air fry, dehydrate, toast, slow cook, broil, air broil, reheat, keep warm and proof. Its stated temperature range is 70°F to 500°F, and it has six heating elements, a touchscreen, speaker alerts, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, and control through the CHEF iQ app. These are manufacturer specifications, not performance measurements.

  • 11 COOKING FUNCTIONS: Bake, broil, and roast, but the MiniOven is also an airfryer, food dehydrator, proofer, toaster, and slow cooker with a 70–500°F temperature range; it’s more versatile than a traditional oven!
  • POWERFUL MOTOR: The iQ MiniOven comes equipped with a 3200 RPM DC motor. Roast up to 30% faster than conventional air fryers and cook precisely with varying fan speeds for each function.
  • YOUR POCKET SOUS CHEF: Pair with the free CHEF iQ App on your smart device to program and monitor your cooking from anywhere. With an unlimited range on Wifi, you can keep an eye on the kitchen from the comfort of your couch.
  • THE FREE CHEF IQ APP: Cook Control lets you choose your cooking function or from dozens of chef-tested presets for your favorite meals, as well as tracking your temperature and cook time all from your phone.
  • FAMILY-SIZED MEALS: Take advantage of the 25-quart capacity, which can fit up to a 13” pizza or 6 slices of toast. Use this air fryer toaster oven combo to prepare dinner for the whole family!

The manufacturer lists the exterior at 16.1 inches wide, 16.4 inches deep and 14.4 inches high, with an internal cooking cavity measuring 13.54 by 13.15 by 6.38 inches. It says the cavity fits a 13-inch pizza or a 9-by-13-inch baking tray. The oven weighs 37.41 pounds and is rated at 1,750 watts and 120 volts. The 25-quart capacity alone does not tell you whether it will suit your counter: measure the available space, allow for the clearances required by the manufacturer, and check that the internal dimensions suit the cookware and food you plan to use.

Included accessories and thermometer compatibility

CHEF iQ lists a ceramic-coated baking tray, ceramic-coated MiniRounds tray, wire rack, air fryer/dehydrator rack and mini glide rack as included accessories. The iQ Sense Smart Thermometer is a separate pairing product, not one of the listed included items. CHEF iQ says the oven can pair with it; the manufacturer’s product information does not establish that the thermometer is bundled with every purchase.

App control has an important exception

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and app control do not mean every cooking cycle can be started remotely. CHEF iQ says broil, air broil and toast can be set up in the app, but the user must press start on the oven itself. In the company’s words: “However, for broil, air broil, and toast, you can set up the cooking session in the app but need to press start directly on the oven.” Check the app’s current feature details if remote operation is central to your decision.

What independent testing says about performance

RTINGS published its CHEF IQ MiniOven review on Sept. 3, 2026, and rated it 7.9 for mixed usage. Its testing found good baking and air-frying performance, even heat across the chamber, mostly crispy air-fried results and even reheating. RTINGS also noted the 13-inch pizza capacity and three rack positions as useful sources of versatility. These findings are RTINGS’ test results; they should not be confused with the manufacturer’s specifications or Prospero’s longer-term account.

Toast is a more qualified strength. Prospero’s Dec. 2025 review identified toast performance as a drawback, while his Oct. 2026 article said firmware updates appeared to help. That later observation is an individual reviewer’s experience rather than a quantified test showing how much performance changed. If toast is your main use, weigh that account alongside RTINGS’ broader findings rather than assuming the issue has been eliminated.

How it compares with two alternatives

RTINGS’ comparisons point to different trade-offs rather than a universal winner. The available comparison evidence is qualitative; it does not establish a current price for either alternative here.

Comparison CHEF iQ MiniOven Alternative
Against Breville Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro RTINGS says it takes less counter space and air fries better. RTINGS says the Breville has a larger cooking chamber and maintains more stable temperatures.
Against Ninja French Door Premier FO101 RTINGS says it offers more rack positions, greater pizza capacity and more smart functions. RTINGS describes the Ninja as more budget-friendly and simpler, with more stable temperatures, more even toast and faster cooking in several uses.

These comparisons suggest what to prioritize. The CHEF iQ’s app features, air-frying results and pizza capacity may matter more if you want a connected, flexible countertop oven. A larger chamber or steadier temperature may matter more if your cooking depends on those traits; the comparison evidence points to the Breville on chamber size and the Breville and Ninja on temperature stability. RTINGS’ findings do not establish that every buyer will see the same result in every recipe or kitchen.

Who should consider it

  • Consider it if you want multiple cooking modes, app connectivity, three rack positions, and a cavity that the manufacturer says fits a 13-inch pizza or 9-by-13-inch tray.
  • Check fit first if your counter is tight: the external dimensions are 16.1 by 16.4 by 14.4 inches, and the appliance weighs 37.41 pounds.
  • Look closely at alternatives if a larger chamber, more stable temperatures, more even toast or faster cooking in several uses is more important to you than smart features and rack flexibility.
  • Verify the deal before deciding if the purchase depends on the reported discount: the $379 price and Prime-member restriction were reported for Oct. 6, 2026, not guaranteed for a later visit.
